I know it’s no longer october, but it’s such a crime that I have written NO meguca angst this year. plus ‘set up for failure’ describes pmmm!magical girls so well. I couldn’t resist:)

Work Text:

“I warned you,” Homura murmured. "You should've stayed away from that creature.”

 

“You knew, didn't you?” Sayaka asked. “That I would make the contract. No matter what.”

 

Homura hesitated. “That's what you've always done.”

 

Sayaka glanced over. “What's your magical talent, really? Time manipulation? Precognition? No, don't answer me—” she said as Homura opened her mouth, “—it doesn't matter. You tried to warn me. I didn't listen.” she paused, “I don't think I could have listened.”

 

“I know.” Homura said. She looked tired. “For what it’s worth, I’m sorry.”

 

“Me too,” Sayaka replied. “But…thank you. For what it’s worth.”

can’t believe after all these years of writing fic this is my first drabble,,, this was really fun, I should do drabbles more often :D
