“I warned you,” Homura murmured. "You should've stayed away from that creature.”
“You knew, didn't you?” Sayaka asked. “That I would make the contract. No matter what.”
Homura hesitated. “That's what you've always done.”
Sayaka glanced over. “What's your magical talent, really? Time manipulation? Precognition? No, don't answer me—” she said as Homura opened her mouth, “—it doesn't matter. You tried to warn me. I didn't listen.” she paused, “I don't think I could have listened.”
“I know.” Homura said. She looked tired. “For what it’s worth, I’m sorry.”
“Me too,” Sayaka replied. “But…thank you. For what it’s worth.”
