PSTD Background and Other Information

Summary:

Pocket-Sized Time Dragon Rewrite Background and Other Information Sheet!

Work Text:

Information for my original WoW Story, Pocket-Sized Time Dragon!

Below are a few lists of what this Alternate Azeroth looks and acts like! Plus little snippets of the characters I will be formally Reintroducing (Technically)

This Alternate Azeroth is mainly the same as MU Azeroth BUT with some Major Changes sprinkled throughout.

Places That Have Changed:

The Exodar is a fully established city, basically what we have in game, but what I’m assuming Velen is trying to do as of the Draenei Heritage Questline (That I still haven’t done because I have ONE Draenei character *Lacian* and she’s still level 27) the Exodar is still where it is on Azeroth, BUT with no traumatic story behind it. They did not crash land. THIS is the only time I change any major lore in the Main Universe. The only expansion this affects is Warlords of Draenor, as well.

This is because Alternate Draenor Velen is Lacian’s father. I have made it where the Azeroth that Alternate Draenor was bound to before all of the demon meddling was the Alternate Azeroth PSTD is about. This of course only affects WoD, as Velen would be their only tie to their world and you know… he dies… so it’s not too terribly Canon breaking.

- Another MAJOR change is that Orgrimmar *Cata+* Orgrimmar to be specific for Reasons* and Durotar as a whole is underwater. The buildings are turned over and the place is filled with sharks and (redacted) actually looks like an underwater horror scene, but besides haunting my dreams when I was younger it’s not important to the plot. Actually probably won’t be more than just mentioned in actual PSTD. It may show up as a side story because of the aforementioned (redacted). I am sorry Orgrimmar/Durotar enjoyers.

To go along with this, Stormwind also has a bit of flooding of its own they’re dealing with, though not nearly as bad as Orgrimmar, of course. This is also Stormwind’s only major change. Varian is a teenager himself in the beginning of PSTD, and is not the heir to Stormwind’s throne. That is all I can say about him at the moment.

Silvermoon… Silvermoon is the starting location of PSTD, and is the wonkiest place in Azeroth next to (REDACTED). Some buildings appear to have been built upside down, being completely unusable, and people who are reported as missing one day frantically are treated as if they never even existed the next. Of course, no one thinks anything is really amiss. Because that’s how Silvermoon always is.

Gilneas is NOT A kingdom. In fact, Genn is the Mayor of Stormglen, and happily lives out in a town with his friends and family in the woods. Gilneas is not very important to the main storyline of PSTD, but WILL Have its own side story. (

Pandaria looks a bit different, but it isn’t plot relevant to any of PSTD’s main story. I’m so sad, but it has to be this way. It wouldn’t make sense for Pandaria to be in PSTD a lot. That being said, we will see it ONCE. It is much closer to the rest of the world than in MU Azeroth. But only for like a chapter or two.

The Barrens!! There is no Cataclysm, of course, but the Barrens has a strange thing where it’s next to Ashenvale, as it should be, but… the wrong way. Instead of going from the outpost into Ashenvale seamlessly, it appears to be cut in half, forest and barrens. There are also a lot of assassins there… for some reason, as well as a mining operation.

I can not bring up Anywhere else without spoiling anything I already have planned, so anywhere I haven’t mentioned yet will be answered in the story, or maybe in another page of this information document when the time comes.

Other Information:

No Alliance/Horde war. To start off with, there are not many orcs on Alternate Azeroth. Many stayed on Draenor. There is no Gul’dan (Yet, lol) to bother them with anything. A few did, of course, come to Azeroth. Many preferred not to leave their home that they already had made for themselves and they were happy with it! The Draenei were curious though, and decided to bring the Exodar to Azeroth to explore and meet people! The idea of anyone actually fighting each other is an absurd thought to everyone.

Everyone is generally happier here, though there’s literally no risk. You die. The Spirit Healer brings you back. That goes for everyone.

This Azeroth (as far as anyone knows) has no actual conflict or any major threats to the world. There are a few *scuffles* here and there, but people who yearn for a challenge go into a ‘dungeon’ where they can hone their skills against willing opponents. No one from Azeroth is allowed to go into Draenor out of fear of them losing their gift of immortality.

There will be more canon characters besides AU Velen showing up, their personalities may be a bit different on Alternate Azeroth as well.

Basic Information on the Main Characters!!:

I was going to do Character by Character, but decided to maybe save it for the notes section of the chapter they are introduced in! Plus, they’ll introduce themselves as well, of course.

With the exception of three characters in the main cast (I believe, at least) everyone is a Teenager. No definite age, but they are all teens.

They are all drawn to certain classes, though there’s really no class system to go by on Alt Azeroth, so they may use unconventional methods not based on their class choice.

PSTD, and the idea of Alternate Azeroth in of itself, was created by a Seven Year Old me, who had a VERY Vivid dream of Orgrimmar and Durotar being flooded, followed by the Barrens being what I described above, and then Stormwind being the way IT is. I have simply filled in the blanks to make a comprehensible story based around that, and came up with PSTD, to finally get that nagging feeling to go away in the back of my mind. I have already rewritten PSTD twice, and hope that I actually like what I write this time around. I am not giving up on this project of mine, because I really do care about it, and I am so grateful that I got into writing for it!

Most of the main characters in this story actually belong to my Grandmother, as she created them when she was alive! (Katiann, Lacian, Beckaw, for instance). I have simply added on to what I remember her doing on these characters when I was younger and built their story from there!
