Work Text:

The forest was thick with the scent of pine and earth, the cool evening air clinging to Mingyu and Minghao as they ran through the dense trees. Mingyu, a powerful Alpha, led the way, his senses sharp, his muscles tensed with fear. Behind him, his mate Minghao, an Omega, struggled to keep up, his breath coming in ragged gasps. Minghao’s hand was tightly clasped in Mingyu’s, but the terror in his eyes was undeniable.

They were being hunted.

Seungcheol’s pack had appeared without warning, shadows moving silently through the trees, their alpha -an Enigma- leading the charge. Seungcheol wasn’t like other Alphas. His presence was overwhelming, dangerous, his power something neither Alpha nor Omega could fully understand. As an Enigma, Seungcheol’s dominance transcended the typical hierarchy, making him a threat to any Alpha who dared to stand in his way.

And now, he was after Minghao.

---

“We’re almost there, Hao, just keep going!” Mingyu called out, his voice filled with desperation as they sprinted deeper into the forest.

Minghao’s legs burned, but he refused to slow down. The sound of Seungcheol’s pack drawing nearer filled his ears. “Gyu, they’re too fast!” he cried, fear choking his voice.

Mingyu growled, his protective instincts flaring. “I won’t let them take you. We’ll make it. I promise.”

But even as he said the words, doubt gnawed at him. Seungcheol’s pack was relentless, and Mingyu knew that if they didn’t reach the safehouse soon, there would be no escape.

Suddenly, a howl pierced the night air—Seungcheol’s. It was a sound that made every hair on Mingyu’s body stand on end, a call that sent tremors through the ground. Minghao’s eyes widened, and before Mingyu could react, a figure leapt from the shadows, crashing into them with bone-shattering force.

Seungcheol.

---

Mingyu was thrown aside, hitting the ground hard as Seungcheol landed in front of Minghao, towering over him like a dark predator. Minghao stumbled backward, his heart pounding in his chest. Seungcheol’s eyes glowed with a feral hunger, his lips curling into a smirk.

“Minghao,” Seungcheol said, his voice low and menacing, “you’re coming with me.”

“No!” Minghao shouted, scrambling back as tears filled his eyes. “I’m with Mingyu! We’re mates!”

Seungcheol chuckled darkly, his gaze flickering to Mingyu, who was struggling to his feet, growling in fury. “Mates? Not for long.”

Before Mingyu could even react, Seungcheol moved with lightning speed, pinning Minghao to the ground. Minghao cried out, his body trembling as Seungcheol’s scent overwhelmed his senses. He struggled against him, but the Enigma’s strength was too much.

“Don’t you dare touch him!” Mingyu roared, charging toward Seungcheol, but two members of Seungcheol’s pack intercepted him, knocking him back with brutal force.

Mingyu fought with all his might, but he was outnumbered, and they were too strong. He could only watch in horror as Seungcheol lowered his head toward Minghao’s neck.

“No! Please!” Minghao sobbed, trying to push Seungcheol away, but it was no use.

With one swift motion, Seungcheol sank his teeth into Minghao’s neck, marking him. A wave of agonizing pain shot through Minghao’s body as Seungcheol’s scent flooded his senses, sealing the bond. He screamed, tears streaming down his face as he felt his connection to Mingyu being severed, replaced by Seungcheol’s brutal claim.

Mingyu’s eyes widened in horror. “No… no… Minghao!” His voice broke, a primal howl of anguish escaping him.

Minghao sobbed, collapsing into the dirt, his body convulsing with pain. “Gyu… I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…”

---

Seungcheol stood up, blood still staining his lips as he turned to face Mingyu. “It’s over, Mingyu. He belongs to me.”

Mingyu’s heart shattered, but rage quickly took its place. With a roar, he broke free of the wolves holding him down and lunged at Seungcheol, determined to rip him apart.

The fight was brutal. Mingyu was strong, his fury fueling his strikes, but Seungcheol was ruthless, and his pack swarmed around them, taking every opportunity to tear at Mingyu. For every hit Mingyu landed, Seungcheol responded with twice the force, and soon, the forest floor was stained with blood.

Mingyu’s body was battered, but he refused to give up. He fought for Minghao, for the love they shared, for the future they had dreamed of. “You won’t take him from me!” he screamed, throwing another punch at Seungcheol’s jaw.

Seungcheol staggered back for a moment, but he quickly recovered, his eyes blazing with cold fury. “He was never yours to keep, Mingyu.”

In one devastating strike, Seungcheol slammed Mingyu into the ground, the air knocked out of him. Blood poured from Mingyu’s wounds, and he struggled to breathe, his vision blurring.

From the corner of his eye, Mingyu saw Minghao crawling toward him, his body trembling with pain. “Mingyu… please, get up…”

Mingyu tried to move, but his body wouldn’t respond. He was too weak. Too broken.

Seungcheol stepped over him, his expression dark. “This is the end for you.”

With a final, crushing blow, Seungcheol drove his claws into Mingyu’s chest, and everything went dark.

---

Minghao screamed as he watched Mingyu’s body go limp, his lifeless eyes staring into the sky. The bond between them, once so strong and full of love, had been severed forever. The pain in his chest was unbearable, but it was nothing compared to the agony of losing Mingyu.

“No… no…” Minghao sobbed, crawling to Mingyu’s side, his hands trembling as he touched his mate’s bloodstained face. “Mingyu, please… please wake up… don’t leave me…”

But there was no response. Mingyu was gone.

Seungcheol watched from a distance, his pack retreating into the shadows. He had what he wanted—Minghao was his now, marked and claimed. But even as he stood victorious, there was no joy in his eyes, only a cold, detached satisfaction.

Minghao clung to Mingyu’s body, his heart breaking into a million pieces. The forest around him was silent, save for his anguished cries. He had lost everything—the love of his life, the future they had planned, the bond that had made him whole.

And now, he was bound to the one who had taken it all away.

---

As the night deepened, Seungcheol approached Minghao, his expression unreadable. “It’s time to go.”

Minghao shook his head, tears streaming down his face. “I don’t want to go with you. I want Mingyu.”

Seungcheol knelt beside him, his voice cold but not unkind. “Mingyu is gone. You belong to me now.”

Minghao looked up at him, his eyes filled with despair. “I will never love you. I will never forgive you for this.”

Seungcheol didn’t flinch. “Love wasn’t part of the deal.”

With that, Seungcheol took Minghao’s trembling hand, pulling him away from Mingyu’s body and into the darkness, where only the shadows of the forest bore witness to the shattered love left behind.
