Notes:

This is just an idea that I decided to have soo it’s completely random probably has no storyline. And also this is the first time I work on Ao3 (everyone starts with wattpad at one point.)

Anyways I hope you enjoy and try not to get annoying of my writing style because it’s probably annoying. Also English is not my first language so bear with me.

Work Text:

The bright white moon hangs high in the sky over the city of Yokohama. And there was a lone man that sat in the once full city.

That man happened to be a certain weretiger

Atsushi didn’t know what to do. He’s tired and drained because of everything that has happened. He was alone. Again. After all, the headmaster said he wouldn’t ever find someone to confide in. That he wouldn’t ever find somebody who liked him.

That he would never find somebody who would stay.

He stared blankly at Yokohama. The city that has changed his life as he stood at the edge of the roof of a half demolished building. The city’s been completely destroyed. Everything is gone. Everything.

Dead corpses of the innocent civilians who once filled the streets littered around, the huge amount of damage that was done by the Tripolar Singularity was clear as mountains of debris were stacked around.

The white haired man looked up to gaze at the once tall standing scary Port Mafia buildings looking cracked and half of them were absolutely demolished. The pride of the underground is gone. The pride of the day is gone.

And most especially, the pride of the weretiger has disappeared.

Atsushi looked at the city before one by one, lone streaks of water went across his face starting lightly before it started streaming even more. He was crying, he kept crying.

He couldn’t stop.

He’s lost his friends. His mentor. His allies. His enemies. He’s lost his purpose in life in general. He didn’t want to keep going. Maybe this was what his mentor felt like. Like he didn’t have any purpose in life anymore because he’s lost everything he’s grown to care about.

He missed all of them. Especially his beloved partner. Someone he could never tell that he loved him. He’s lost that chance now.

He continued to sob, the stream of tears never seeming to end as he crouched down near the edge not bothering to care if anyone was to see him. And it wasn’t like anyone was even alive so they could see him crying.

Though with his sharp tiger senses that were still quite present by force, he heard a sound. The sound of footsteps that were coming closer and closer.

Is someone actually here? Is someone actually alive?

Atsushi slowly lifted his head up as the sound of footsteps turned more loud. He stood up carefully wondering if it would be Fyodor being back again before he heard the most unexpected voice in the world. The voice of someone he missed more than the sun.

“Jinko.”

In the blink of an eye, the weretiger found himself turning around and jumping on the person who said that with tears still streaming down his face. The person widened his eyes in surprise at the hug before the raventte reluctantly returned it.

“A-Akutagawa you’re alive. You're alive..” Atsushi kept repeating as he continued to cry.

“Of course I am. I’m not weak, Jinko.” The mafioso replied back but with a softer tone. Atsushi didn’t respond to that as he continued to cry. Akutagawa hummed as he closed his eyes and hugged Atsushi tighter silently telling him to continue it as Atsushi continued to cry.

After a while, the man stopped crying and sniffled as the mafioso spoke up. “You done? Because now we should figure out what we should do.”

“I don’t think there’s anything for us to do. Yokohama is destroyed.” Atsushi said in a tone that was saying that he was about to burst into tears again. Akutagawa rolled his eyes, still managing to be annoyed by the weretiger’s attitude.

“Well Yokohama isn’t the only place in the world you know. We can go to…Tokyo or Shibuya or something.” The mafioso said as Atsushi glared up at him at the tone and his words.

He sighed. “I don’t want to leave this city. Are we seriously going to leave it like this…?” Atsushi said as his gaze turned back to the city.

“Well do we have a choice? No we don’t.” The raventte said, answering his own question as Atsushi rolled his eyes, he always managed to frustrate him even in the worst situations.

“Come on. We can at least tour the city and see what’s left.” Atsushi mumbled as he stood to turn and go down the damaged building without wait for Akutagawa’s response.

Akutagawa furrowed his eyebrows at that. “You’re such a bastard.”

“Says you.”

“Yes, in fact I’m actually saying that.”

“Shut up.”

“Don’t tell me what to do Jinko”

“You’re absolutely infuriating.”

“I think I know that.”

The two then spent the rest of the time walking around and picking whatever was leftover. Somehow they managed to find time to joke around and laugh despite everything they’ve ever known being gone.

“Jeez. Those kids looked like they were annoying when they were alive.” Akutagawa commented as he stared at a few dead corpses of kids while following after Atsushi who slapped his arm.

“Don’t say that! Don’t joke now of all times you could’ve not been serious!” Atsushi seethed as the mafioso simply rolled his eyes.

They soon found themselves staring at the market, even though there was nothing left from it at all.

“Kyoka’s favourite shop was here…” Atsushi quietly mumbled as he stared at it. Akutagawa gave him a side glance before sighing and turning around to walk away.

“Oi.. hey where are you going!” The male with the abnormal haircut yelled, his solemn expression quickly replaced with one of irritation as he jogged to catch up with the other.

‘Bastard.’ He thought as he started to walk when he was beside him.

“There’s a free ice cream shop!” Atsushi exclaimed as he ran towards it.

“That’s called thievery.” Akutagawa said after he blinked at the actions that mimicked a little child.

“The owner is probably dead so let’s see if some ice cream survived!” The weretiger  retorted as he opened the shop.

“Such a child…” The mafioso mumbled as he rolled his eyes at the other’s actions.

This used to be such a beautiful city.

The thought crossed both of their minds as they sat by the river while eating their ice cream. Just by a ‘coincidence’, Atsushi’s last destination was the place where he met Dazai.

This is the place where the life he’s learned to love started.

The two sat in silence while staring at the golden hues that the sun was giving off as the signal that the day was starting.

No one commented or said anything but it was somehow comfortable as they both acknowledged the fact that they can never go back to the life that they made.

Atsushi spoke up. “Tokyo sounds nice.” He suddenly said, Akutgawa raised one of his nonexistent eyebrows at that. Before he let out a small smile as he looked back at the sun.

“It does, doesn't it.” He simply answered as Atsushi went quiet at that before smiling too.

“Then let’s go huh.”

“And leave Yokohama behind?” Akutagwa questioned the man with narrowed eyes who just rolled his eyes though his smile didn’t leave.

“And leave Yokohama behind.”

“Hmm.”

“That’s the plan then.”
