Viper sighs as she glances at the clock, dropping her pen on the table. She’s been awake since 6AM and her head was throbbing, stomach growling from food deprivation.
Brimstone had flooded her with a bunch of reports, the majority of it being mission reports which required her to sign off. Viper had worked through about half of it, her eyes straining from the sheer amount of reading she’d done.
The pack of Kinder Bueno lying at the corner of her table was calling out to her, and Viper felt herself salivating at the sweet treat.
Viper had never been one to crave sweets, but during the course of her relationship with Reyna, the latter’s sweet tooth had admittedly rubbed off on her.
A month ago, Reyna had waltz into Viper’s lab, a pack of Kinder Bueno in her hands. She’d said something along the lines of expanding her palette beyond black coffee and plain ramen.
“Come on, Cariño, just a bite.” Reyna pouts, poking the chocolatey wafer between Viper’s lips.
Viper recoils, turning her head to the side.
“I don’t want a bite.”
Reyna rolls her eyes, gripping the scientist's chin firmly and turning her face back toward her.
“Eat this or no sex for two weeks.” The vampire looks at Viper dead in the eyes, not a lie in sight.
“You wouldn’t last.” Viper shrugs off the threat, still refusing to consume the biscuit.
“Fine then.” Reyna relents, pushing herself off of Viper’s lap, heading towards the exit.
Viper feels herself panic, knowing damn well Reyna could indeed last more than a week without sex. Her on the other hand? While she would never outwardly admit it to Reyna, she couldn’t even last two days without her lover.
Before Reyna could stray any further more than an arms length from Viper, the chemist reaches out for her girlfriend’s hand, pulling her back into her lap.
Reyna faces Viper with a smirk, knowing she won this fight.
“Good choice mi corazón.”
Viper clicks her tongue as Reyna puts the Kinder Bueno back towards her lover’s lips.
“You’re an asshole, you know that?” Viper grumbles, begrudgingly taking a bite.
A laugh erupts from the girl above her.
“Yet you still love me.” Reyna smiles.
Viper’s eyes glisten and widen a little after tasting the snack, her tongue poking out to clean the excess chocolate from the corner of her lips.
“It tastes okay i guess.” Viper comments, refraining herself from snatching the rest of the wafer from Reyna’s hand.
“You’re a bad liar, cariño. You love it, i can tell.” Reyna teases, feeding Viper another bite.
Since that day, Viper had fallen in love with Kinder Bueno. She’d actually requested for Sage to buy a box for her in secret, no questions asked. While Sage felt inclined to ask why Viper needed that much Kinder Bueno, she refrained herself from doing so. Sage simply did as requested and threw this memory to the back of her mind, no matter how odd it was.
Viper grabs the Kinder Bueno from the corner of her table, pulling out one of the wafers and unwrapping it from the thin plastic. She takes a bite, her taste buds satisfied and she nearly moaned.
While this wasn’t an actual meal, it would be enough to fuel her for another two hours or so.
“My, cariño, i’ve seen you eat those at least thrice a day.” Reyna chuckles as she walks in.
Viper doesn’t even flinch at her intrusion, busying herself with the treat at hand. Reyna wraps her arms around Viper’s waist, resting her chin atop her lover’s shoulder.
“It’s your fault if you think about it.” Viper shrugs, dragging her nails lightly across Reyna’s tattooed forearm.
Reyna smiles sneakily, unbeknownst to Viper.
“Hm. Gimme a kiss.”
Viper’s ears perked up, an eyebrow arched in suspicion as she turns towards Reyna.
“What’ve you done?”
“Why do you think i’ve done something?” Reyna frowns, a pout on her lips. Viper held back the urge to kiss that pout away.
Viper ponders for a bear before leaning in to kiss her girlfriend. Reyna leans in too, and as their lips approach, Reyna tilts her head away at the last second and snatches a bite of Viper’s Kinder Bueno.
The chemist stiffens, her face muscles taut as she turns in Reyna’s hold to look at the thief in front of her.
“Zyanya.” Viper had a look of utter betrayal on her face.
Reyna shies under her girlfriend’s gaze, swallowing the last of the stolen bite.
“Couples share everything.” The vampire conjures up an excuse.
Viper reaches up and uses her index finger to wipe off the bits of chocolate at the corner of her lips.
“Okay.” Viper says, unnervingly calm.
The scientist unravels herself from Reyna’s hold, turning back to the remaining bulk of reports she had to read and sign off on.
Reyna stood there awkwardly, unsure of what mood Viper was in.
“…Cariño? Are you angry?” Reyna asks, running her fingers through the jett black hair in front of her.
“Not at all.”
Oh Reyna knows she fucked up. Big time.
2 days have passed since Reyna had stolen a bite from Viper’s beloved Kinder Bueno. 2 agonising days.
Through the course of those two days, Viper had been a little shit. Admittedly, she wasn’t so much of mad at Reyna, but rather possessive over her chocolate wafers.
It started off with little things, like Viper stealing Reyna’s favourite sweatshirt. When Reyna had asked, Viper had repeated what the vampire said; “Couples share everything.”
Not even an hour later, when they were in bed, Reyna realised that her book was missing from her side of the bedside table.
“Sabine, where’s my— Is that my book?”
And sitting relaxed at her side of the bed, was Viper, leaning back against the cushioned headboard with her glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, Reyna’s book in her hands.
Viper smiles at her lover. “Couples share everything.”
Reyna groaned and grumbled under her breath, deciding to go to sleep early. However, that wasn’t the end of Viper’s petty actions.
The very next day, Reyna had an early morning training session with Gekko, and she had awoken before Viper, albeit a rare occasion.
Whilst getting ready, Reyna realised a pair of her training shorts was gone. Though she already knew who was the probable culprit, she made her way to her sleeping girlfriend, gently pulling back the covers to reveal her wearing said training shorts.
Reyna groans internally and Viper stirs awake, a shit-eating grin on her face.
“Couples share everything, Reyna.” Viper rasps, running her hand along Reyna’s bare thigh, leaving goosebumps in their wake.
“On the bright side though,” Viper smirks, “you look great in just your underwear and sports bra.”
Unbelievable. Viper was trying to rile Reyna up while giving her a taste of her own medicine.
“You’re an asshole, cariño.” Reyna swats Viper’s hand away, giving her the middle finger while she puts on tight leggings.
Viper smiles in victory to herself, more than satisfied with her petty antics. While she could’ve stopped there, Viper itched to fuck with Reyna just a bit more.
After Reyna’s training session with Gekko, she leaves the gym drenched in sweat, the leggings sticking to her skin uncomfortably.
“You’ve grown a lot stronger, cariño.” Reyna smiles at the boy as they both head for the kitchen.
“Ay, maybe you’ve grown weaker.” Gekko smirks.
Reyna playfully smacks the back of his head, softly tugging at Gekko’s ear.
“What was that? Did i hear a ‘thank you, Reyna’ ?” Reyna smirks, seeing Gekko wince and swat at Reyna’s hand.
“Ow ow ow— Okay, okay! Relax!” Gekko grunts, hopping on a foot as Reyna tightens her grip.
“Pardon? Did you say thank you?” Reyna raises her eyebrows.
“Thank you, Reyna, thank you!” Gekko rushes out, sighing in relief as Reyna lets him go.
Reyna chuckles as the boy rubs his ear, grumbling a bunch of nothings under his breath.
“Do you want coffee? Tea?” Reyna offers, grabbing two mugs.
“Coffee, please— but add oat milk and brown sugar!” Gekko plops back against the couch, scrolling through his phone.
When Reyna finished making her coffee, she’d set it aside on a counter to prepare Gekko’s. It was then that Viper walked in silently, unbeknownst to Reyna but catching Gekko’s attention.
As Gekko looked up from his phone, Viper pressed her index finger against her lips, motioning for Gekko to keep her presence a secret. He knew better than to do the opposite, so he sat silent, entertaining himself with a game on his phone.
Viper grins at the boy’s compliance and covertly grabbed Reyna’s mug of coffee, delightfully sipping from it as she wraps an arm around Reyna’s mid-section.
”Good morning.” Viper greets, the distinct smell of coffee leaving her breath.
Reyna perks up at the scent and looks down, seeing her mug of coffee in Viper’s hand.
“You… That’s not yours.” Reyna grunts, unraveling herself from Viper’s embrace.
“Hm, could’ve sworn that Kinder Bueno the other day wasn’t yours either.” Viper claps back effortlessly, giving Reyna a pointed look.
The vampire pouts, letting her head fall against the taller woman’s chest.
“How long more are you gonna torture me for that, Sabine?” She whines quietly.
“Oh Zyanya, you consider this torture? I went easy on you.” Viper laughs, ruffling the short lady’s long hair.
Reyna flips her off as she gently shoves Viper away, grabbing Gekko’s coffee and drinking it instead.
“Sorry, cariño, no coffee for you today thanks to this one.” Reyna scowls, pointing back at the chemist behind her.
Gekko looks at Reyna incredulously, then at Viper, then back to the grumpy vampire.
“Seriously, amigo? You gon’ do me like that, Viper?”
Viper smiles softly at the young agent, a warmth in her gaze. Over time, she's grown quite fond of him, her connection with Reyna deepening her understanding of the boy.
“Hey, don’t look at me. Reyna’s the one being punished here.” Viper chuckles, tossing Gekko a chocolate protein shake instead.
The chemist chases after her girlfriend, cornering her girlfriend in her lab. Not even a beat passes by before Reyna is kneeling on the ground, her arms wrapping around Viper’s torso.
Viper freezes, watching the girl drop to her knees in shock. “Zyanya, what are you—”
“I’m sorry, mi amor. I’m sorry for eating your Kinder Bueno, please forgive me.” Reyna mumbles into the scientist’s lab coat.
Sabine laughs at the girl's playful antics, a smile tugging at her lips as she gently grabs Zyanya's chin, tilting it upward, away from her stomach.
"Zyanya, get off your knees," Viper says with a smirk. "Just grab me another Kinder Bueno, and I’ll let you off easy." She leans down to kiss Reyna’s forehead, her hands slipping under Reyna’s arms as she gently pulls her to her feet.
Reyna’s eyes sparkled under the fluorescent lights, a pleasant smirk on her lips. “Oh you know im gonna do a lot more than that to make it up to you, Sabine.”
“I know. I’m counting on it.” Viper winks, making her way to her vials of toxins as she sends Reyna on her way to the training room.
Unbeknownst to Viper, instead of heading directly to her destination, Reyna takes a detour, making her way to Sage's clinic in search of help.
“Sage? Cariño, are you free?” Reyna pokes her head into the clinic, eyes roaming around the room.
Sage jumps a little at the sudden intrusion.
“Oh Gods! Knocking has become a thing, you know?” Sage teases, inviting Reyna in.
“Overrated. Anyways, i need a favour..” Reyna requests, hopping onto a counter.
“Yes, of course. Are you hurt?” The sentinel inquires, silently scanning the duelist for any signs of injury.
Reyna shakes her head, a slight tint of blush on her cheeks. “No, actually, um… Could you help me get a box of Kinder Buenos?”
Sage eyes her warily, positioning herself beside Reyna on the counter, her arms crossed in a guarded stance.
"Alright, out with it, Reyna," Sage begins, her brow furrowed in confusion. "First, Viper asks for a box of Kinder Buenos, no questions asked. Now you show up asking for the exact same thing. Have you two developed some kind of chocolate addiction?" She rambles, utterly baffled by the unexpected, and rather hefty, request for the famous chocolate wafers.
“Well… I kinda, sorta, ate Viper’s precious Kinder Bueno and she’s been fucking with me ever since.” Reyna sighs.
The sentinel laughs, her face turning a light shade of pink. “Alright, alright. I’ll get them tonight.”
Reyna looks at Sage as if the Asian was her God given saviour, and angel that descended from heaven above. The duelist glances at Sage gratefully, a ‘thank you’ leaving past her lips.
Sage nods with a knowing smile, amused as always by how she ends up cleaning up after the team.
"Oh, and by the way," Sage calls out just before Reyna steps out the door. "I'm making 火锅 (hotpot) tonight. If you really want to make it up to that stubborn scientist, bring her some—along with ice cream for dessert."
“You are my saviour, Ling Ying, i hope you know that.” Reyna winks, heading back to her room for a shower, pleased with herself.
That night, Sage had told Reyna about the chocolate delivery, and Reyna had immediately gone to retrieve it. Her biceps strained as she carried the heavy box of treats up to Viper’s room.
The Chinese woman follows behind the vampire, two bowls of steaming hotpot in her hands.
“Cariño! Open the door!” Reyna calls, her voice a mix of impatience and effort as she balances the large box on her thigh, her chest rising and falling with each heavy breath.
There’s a bit of rustling from behind the door before it opens to reveal a sleepy Viper, her lab coat bow wrinkled and crumpled.
“What’s this?” Viper yawns, letting Reyna and Sage into her room.
“Something along the lines of her pissing you off and wanting to make it up to you.” Sage chuckles, nodding at Reyna before looking back at Viper. She sets the two bowls of food down on the table, gently pushing Viper’s paperwork to the side.
Viper looks back at her girlfriend with a smile, the latter falling back onto the bed with a sigh.
“Consider me impressed.” The scientist says, amused.
“Let me know when you want dessert.” Sage winks at Reyna before leaving the room, leaving the couple alone.
Viper strides across the room and straddles Reyna’s abdomen, her hands caressing the sides of her body.
“What’s all this about?” Viper smirks, curiously eyeing her lover as she kisses Reyna’s frown away.
“You said you wanted Kinder Bueno.” Reyna sits up with Viper on her lap, her hands resting on the controller’s hips.
“Mhm, i said i wanted a Kinder Bueno. You came in with a full box of it and two bowls of food.” Viper teases.
“You know me, mi amor. I do a lot more than what’s asked of me.” Reyna smirks, carrying her lover on her hips as she takes a seat at Viper’s study desk with the girl on her lap.
“You’re a swooner, Zyanya.” Viper laughs, digging into the food served.
After finishing dinner, Reyna steps out of the room to fetch dessert, just as Sage had advised. When she came back with a bowl of ice cream in hand, Viper had already opened the box of Kinder Bueno and was eating a pack.
“Couldn’t wait?” Reyna walks in with a smirk.
Viper’s cheeks flush a deep shade of pink as she gently takes the bowl of dessert from the latter, her fingers brushing against the smooth ceramic.
Her gaze flickers to the table and she stands up. The soft rustle of fabric follows as she makes her way to the bed, curling her legs beneath her. Reyna follows suit, settling down next to the chemist as she pulls the cover over their legs.
Viper cuddles closer to Reyna, burrowing herself in Reyna’s warm embrace, a stark contrast to the ice cold treat in her hand.
“So am i forgiven?” Reyna breaks the silence as Viper scoops a serving of ice cream and feeds it to the vampire.
“Mhm.” Viper hums, her lips curling around the spoon of soft serve.
Reyna flashes a wide, toothy grin, her fangs glinting as she leans down. She plants a soft kiss on the top of her girlfriend’s head, then moves to her forehead, gently brushing her lips down the bridge of her nose. She lingers for a moment, then trails a series of tender kisses across her girlfriend's cheeks, each one leaving a warm, lingering touch.
“Ticklish, Zyanya.” Viper grunts as the pair of cold lips attack her face.
The vampire laughs softly, capturing her lover’s lips in a deep, lingering kiss. Viper sets the dessert aside as she pulls Reyna in closer by her nape, their lips slipping together like a puzzle piece.
Viper crawls above Reyna, straddling her thighs in an attempt to deepen the kiss. Reyna trails her fingers under Viper’s shirt and up her smooth back, lightly dragging back and forth as Viper practically melts into her.
“If all i had to do for a hot make out session was to eat your Kinder Bueno, i would’ve done it months earlier mi corazón.” Reyna teases, placing a chaste kiss on her lips as Viper rests against her chest, arms curling behind Reyna’s back.
“You’d have to do a lot more before we’d make out, Zyanya.” Viper lets out a tired yawn as Reyna’s hands on her back lulls her to sleep.
"Yes, ma’am," Reyna chuckles, her gaze softening as she watches Viper drift peacefully into slumber. “Good night, mi amor.”
Moments before passing out, Viper mumbles out a quiet “G’nite”, a slight smile on her lips.
