A Normal Game of Uno

Summary:

They all play Uno together. Nobody is good at it and there's a lot of cheating.

Notes:

I wanted to get this out cause this fandom doesn't have much. I'll update this once I can get everything I do have written connected together.

Work Text:

“You better be prepared Doctor Venture… as this card is so cruel, so ruthless, that even the lord of the underworld himself fears what it is capable of!” He quickly pulls the card out of his hand, making sure to leave it face down. Everyone watches in anticipation as he slowly moves it towards the discard pile.

“Would you quit being so dramatic and play the darn card already?” He looks at his watch.

“Fine, fine. I don't want the old man to be late for his afternoon nap,” he grumbles. The Monarch flips the card around to reveal that it's a wild draw four card. “I want the color to be…” He glances at Rusty's hand. “Yellow.”

“The most evil of cards.” Gary gasps. “Only you would do something like this!” The two of them high-five when suddenly Rusty places down an identical card.

“That's what you get for looking at my cards. How did you not notice I had this with all that peeking you were doing?”

"That wasn't even in your hand! Where did you get that from?"

“Not again! I wasn't even the one that looked!” Dean whines. He looks like he's about to throw his cards. Hank barely holds back his laughter as Dean draws.

“What really matters is that he didn't get the satisfaction of making me draw.” Rusty smirks at The Monarch.

“All those cards and you still don't have anything good,” Hank teases.

“At least I know how to say uno! You've been stuck at two cards this whole game!”

“I'm not the one with the whole deck in my hand.”

“Boys focus on the game,” Rusty says as he very obviously turns his head towards Dean's cards. “Red.”

Hank plays a skip card and grins.

“Hey!” Gary glares at him. “I thought we were friends!”

“All's fair in love and war.”

“You forgot to say uno!” Dean chimes in. Hank groans and begrudgingly draws a card.

“Look at what he has, 21,” the Monarch whispers. “This is an order.”

“One green card and one regular wild,” he reports. “It's your turn to play.”
