Work Text:

Phoenix looked to Edgeworth, his face illuminated by a single candle. His hand slowly cupped Edgeworth’s, the warmth of his skin sent shivers down his spine. He slowly leaned closer to the man, going in for a little smooch. But Maya burst in, practically breaking down the door before they could kiss. The two men backed away from each other so quickly that Wright fell off the couch over the armrest thing. Maya examined the two before speaking, “what do you want for dinner?” She asked Phoenix, who had just righted himself back on the sofa. He looked to Edgeworth. Edgeworth looked back at him. “Hot dog.” Phoenix told Maya. Edgeworth looked at the man. Did he mean that in a sexual way or like he literally wanted to eat a hot dog right then? Probably the latter. Maya nodded, “hot dogs sound good.” She agreed and left, closing the door behind her. Phoenix turned to Edgeworth and smirked before placing a hand on his chest and pushing him down onto his back. “Wright, Maya will be back soon.” He calmly said. “The closest hot dog place isn’t for a whole ten minutes by car, Maya can’t drive.” Phoenix countered, peppering his cheek with kisses. Edgeworth looked to the door, “alright, we have time.” He said and pulled Phoenix into an embrace.
“Where is the closest hot dog place?” Maya checked her phone. The closest place was about a twenty-five minute walk. She sighed and started on her way. Around five minutes into her trek, a car pulled up beside her. It was a small limousine with tinted windows. The back window slowly rolled down and a familiar face came into view. “Franziska, what are you doing here?” Maya questioned. There was no response, only the opening of a door so Maya could climb in. “I was here to deliver some letters to Phoenix Wright.” Franziska held up a stack of parchment. “To Nick?” Maya repeated and Franziska nodded. She fingered through the papers, “they are all from Miles Edgeworth.” She stated, “seems he has become quite enamored with that man.” She handed the pile to Maya, who leafed through it. Some were thicker than others, some were sealed with an official looking stamp, some had lipstick marks on them wait what? Maya decided to forget those, maybe Edgeworth had a sweetheart. “I’ll make sure these get to Nick, thanks Franziska.” Maya smiled warmly and began backing out of the limo. “Where are you going? I could give you a lift.” Franziska offered. An offer Maya would not be denying as she has always wanted to ride in a limousine.
The ride was a bit awkward for Maya. Franziska seemed delighted, even though she didn’t look it. The limo slowly pulled up to a restaurant where Maya hopped out. “Thanks Franziska, I can walk home.” Franziska put her hand up, “nonsense, you-the hot dogs will get cold. We will wait here for you.” Franziska smiled, or tried to. There was something uncanny about her smile, though it warmed Maya’s heart anyway. Maya went up to the register and began to order, then she stopped. She didn’t know what Nick wanted on his hot dog! She fumbled with her phone and called him.
Phoenix’s phone buzzed with a call from his assistant. He would be unable to answer however as he was kind of in the middle of something. “Come on Nick, pick up.” Maya mumbled, glancing at the line forming behind her. She let out a big sigh and just ordered a plain hot dog, Nick could put what he wanted on it when she got back. She clambered back into the limo and gave Franziska a thumbs up. “Wow, I’ll be back much before I thought I would!” Maya chimed, beaming. Franziska gave her driver the signal to drive, “yes that is good.” Maya let out a yawn. She hadn’t been sleeping well, the stress from the cases were getting to her. She gently leaned over onto Franziska’s shoulder, who instantly tensed up a bit. Maya didn’t mind though, she was happy.
After Maya waved Franziska off, she went into the building. She felt like she could take on the world, nothing could bring her down. She didn’t even notice the strange noises coming from the room she had left the lawyers in. She opened the door and froze. Despite being covered by a blanket, Maya could instantly tell what was going on. THESE TWO WERE FORNICATING!! They were so into it they didn’t even notice she had arrived! What little freaks! Despite the rage she felt welling inside her, she closed the door and left.
