Work Text:
Seeing Hana and the Wolfman falling in love and the two creating a child of their own lifted every parent's and adult's hearts. However, that all changed when they saw Hana searching for her love on a rainy spring.
Seeing the Wolfman lie dead in the canal... broke everyone's hearts. Even the cold Fiona Frost has tears in her eyes.
Yor wonder if Loid felt the same way when he lost his first wife.
Yor 'I can't even imagine the pain he must have felt. And to take care of Anya when she was only so little. I can understand that as much, since I've been taking care of Yuri after our parents had died.'
Anya 'Mama is so amazing. So cool!'
Sharon "Thank god kids are not like wolves, but sometimes I feel that they are."
Camilla "Really? How so?"
Sylvia "Their rambunctious nature. They are loud and full of energy, but like puppies."
Becky "It's like I said to Mr. Henderson in arts and crafts class, humans are animals too."
The adults in the room chuckled and laughed, because it's true, and after seeing the Wolfman transformed, it was clear that Becky's words rang true.
Sharon smiled, understanding Hana's struggles of raising a baby.
Sharon "Take notes, Yor. You and your husband may soon be facing the challenges of raising a baby together."
Loid and Yor faces turned beet red at the thought of having a baby in their 'family'. While Yuri's face was red not in embarrassment, but in anger.
Yuri "Like hell Loidy is going to get my sister pregnant!"
Yor and Loid "Yuri!/Brair! Don't say things like that in front of the kids!"
While the adults laugh, Yuri received a scolding from Mr. Henderson for speaking in an inelegant manner in the school and in front of the younger children.
But when the movie shows Hana seeing her daughter throwing up from a substance in a packet, she takes her kids to get help, but is stopped at a crossroad.
Should she take Yuki to a child clinic or a veterinarian?
Seeing that, Hana made a phone call to each hospital was a smart choice, and from what they can gather, Yuki wasn't puking up blood, and her appetite was healthy. Shows that she's going to be okay.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
Although, it wasn't long until the movie starts to show just how hard it is to raise wolf children in the city. The chances of Yuki and Ame accidentally letting their wolf side show are high when interacting with a dog or howling in the middle of the night. Not to mention that when Ame cried at night, the neighbors would complain to Hana, and then there were the people from Child Protection Services.
Moving is the only and the best option.
"What an ugly-looking house."
"I wouldn't want to live there, even if you paid me."
Seeing Hana fixing up the house was laughable, until it wasn't.
The children took notice of how much beauty there is in this scene. Seeing how much work she puts into it, and taking in the smallest details that this house had from the previous owners. It's stunning.
From the names and ages, heights engraved into the wooden pillar, to the glass design for the house's side door that shines from the sun's rays, and the stones sparkle in the kitchen sink when the water is running.
No adult couldn't explain it, but there was something about this moment in the movie that made them feel some sort of interest to try and see things in a different light. It felt like finding something that's been lost, a sort of magical feeling.
All the children in Eden cried in joy and wonder at the beautiful snow.
Anya "Anya wants to see snow like that!"
Anya points to the screen. Loid thought for a moment before thinking.
Loid "We might be able to during winter break."
Yor "That sounds wonderful, it can be another family outing."
Bond "Barf!"
The scene changes to Yuki and Ame running through the woods and turning into wolves, with their mom following behind them. The music playing in the background made the scene feel alive.
The audience can see through the eyes of the wolf children as they run through nature.
Loid 'Skiing or sledding would be perfect for Anya.'
Yor 'This is so fun, I can't wait for winter to come!'
Anya 'Snowy snow!'
Even Bond howled with the family in the movie.
