Chapter Text
It's been ten years since that fateful day when the seventh human child fell into MT abbot. Monsters had taken their rightful place on the surface, equal to humans again. Now, the world is in a transitional period, with years of isolation from both sides, festering hatred and anger, and the past actions of both sides threatening to tear apart the fragile new friendship between the two races. For now, there is peace. However, a call from an unknown number about a possible murder threatened to shake all of that.
An officer kicked down the door to the house, and they were told a murder was occurring. The old cop did not have a warrant but needed to get in there if someone was in danger. The officer ran inside right as the door hit the floor. "Hey! Everyone alright in…here…” The officer grimaced as he looked at the site before him; there was an older woman on the floor, covered in blood, a knife stuck in her chest. The officer felt a pit grow in his stomach as he looked at the dead human. The cop scanned the rest of the room before coming upon another human. The officer ran over to them; they were covered in blood, but he was not sure if they were also dead.
"Hey! You alright?" The officer asked, shaking them. The much younger human stirred awake as the officer looked at their hands. Their hands had small cuts and were leaking blood…The officer looked over at the knife. The handle was also covered in blood…The blood was deepest around the exact spots that would line up to cuts.
"Hands up!" The officer demanded, pulling out his taser and pointing it at the human, backing up slowly. The human, who was stirring awake, froze when the officer's words struck their ears. The human slowly put their hands up while face down on the wood floor. The officer walked over and put the human's hands in cuffs as they looked around, panicked.

Frisk, the monster ambassador, was universally loved by the monster people. When Frisk was just a child, they had managed to free monster kind from their terrible underground prison. Now an adult proper, the former child had spent their life trying their best to bridge the wide gap between humans and monsters, being one of the few things keeping everything together and preventing another war between the two people.
Now, the human sat in a jail cell, being narrated by officers for a crime they knew they did not commit. "You are under arrest for the murder of Abigail," The officer told them before shoving them into the back of a dingy police car. Frisk did not remember anything from the last several hours, and their skull ached.
Frisk was unfamiliar with the human legal system, but they knew it did not look good for them. Their DNA was all over the crime scene. The officers found that the murder weapon had both Frisk's blood on the knife as well as the fact that the only fingerprints found on it were Frisk's, which made it all but certain in the officer's mind that Frisk murdered them. Thankfully, Frisk was willing to fight to prove their innocence, so when the time came to fight, they reached out to their mother, who Frisk knew would raise hell to help them.
