Work Text:

Haldir breathed a sigh of relief when he finally entered the talan.
The warmth of the house and the smell of dinner being cooked made him release the tension he had accumulated on his shoulders.

It had been a tiring shift at the borders. The new recruits began working in the field and were always eager to prove themselves, to prove their worth. Sometimes too much.
This was going to be a busy year.

The elf placed his weapons in a corner, to clean them later, and headed towards the bedroom.
A noise broke him from his thoughts.
Looking up, he saw his girlfriend coming out of their bathroom with a small bag in her hands.
"Welcome home, meleth," (love) she greeted, smiling happily at him before hugging him.
Haldir squeezed back, leaning down to kiss her on the lips.

They had been officially courting for a few months, and by now he was used to sharing the house, his life, with her.
Their jobs often kept them apart, but they did what they could to enjoy every moment they spent together.

"I missed you," he told her, before going back to kissing her.
"You too"

When they separated, she took his hand and led him to the bathroom. "Come, I've prepared the tub for you".

A faint scent of flowers and herbs rose from the water, and Haldir couldn't help but smile.
The first time Ithildin prepared a bath like this for him, she explained that it was mostly herbs that would help him relax and relieve fatigue from his muscles. He was left speechless, moved by that care.
He was used to taking care of others, such as Captain and big brother, but he secretly loved that there was someone willing to take care of him.

"Hannon le, gil nin. Are you joining?" (Thak you, my star)
She let out a short laugh at his hopeful look, but shook her head. "I'll help you wash, but then I have to make sure our dinner doesn't burn".
Seeing that he was about to protest, she added, "I promise that after dinner I'll show you exactly how much I've missed you, and how happy I am to have you home." Her voice was dripping with suggestiveness as she whispered to Haldir and flicked her tongue across his sensitive ear.

She helped the Captain undress, and was happy to see him relax once he entered the warm water.
Haldir felt the tension of the last few weeks leave him. He closed his eyes, enjoying the warm water and scents, throwing his head back.
Ithildin took the opportunity to run her eyes over his fiancé's neck and broad chest, unable to help but bite her lip.
“You are staring, my lady.” Haldir's voice brought her out of her thoughts. His eyes were still closed, but his guardian senses never rested.
Smiling, she dropped a sponge and stood behind the tub, dipping it in and starting to wash his back.
“I was admiring, Captain.”

Once she finished washing his back, she passed him the sponge and gave him a series of light kisses on his neck and shoulder.
"Relax, my love. Dinner will be waiting for you when you're ready."
After claiming her lips for one last kiss, Haldir released her.
Sighing, he sank a little deeper into the tub.
It was good to be home again.
