Chapter Text
Shirou Emiya used to be a highschooler and aspiring mage that wanted to be a hero. Now he was on the precipice of something more grandiose than being a hero.
He stood in front of a broken god named Marika, the vessel for an elder god, known as the Elden Beast. Shirou had slain the god and the Elden Beast. He sat down to contemplate everything that's happened to him.
The friends he made, the people he lost, the enemies he had felled. But the three most important things that he thought of flashed in his mind, as he touched an almost healed fingerprint scar with his left hand that held a ring.
A woman he fell in love with on his journey through the lands between, named Ranni, was fighting for her freedom. She had wanted to free herself and the Lands-Between from the Two Fingers, who had enslaved everyone. To do this she had sacrificed everything for this, but it wasn't enough. She had freed herself from the Two Fingers that controlled her life, but she had used up everything for it.
Shirou had found out her end plan, and had retrieved Ranni’s ring. But he had also decided to forge a ring that was imbued with his Magecraft, so that if she needed to she could use him.
He had slipped one ring on, causing her to regain consciousness. And then proposed with the other. He still remembers the words she spoke.
“Shirou it seems that the one that would become my consort was you all along. I am overjoyed that you are my beloved, from henceforth and forever.”
He was and always will be a hero, so when he found out that he would have to sacrifice his Maiden in order to further His journey, he refused. He had cursed himself with the frenzied flame in order to burn down the Erdtree himself.
He saved Melina, but he was now under the influence of the frenzied flame. But that's where his third miracle happened. With sheer willpower, determination, and the artifact that was inside his soul, caused the Flame to leave him.
He had enough thinking for one day, and called out, “Ranni, I don't know what you want to do now?”
Blue motes of light appeared around him, as he felt Four arms wrap around him. “ Let me take care of this beloved.” Ranni pressed A kiss to his cheek, before ending the hug and walking towards Marika's corpse.
She picked up the corpse and held it aloft in the sky and it started to disintegrate into motes of light. “To every being, cometh the age of stars. A thousand year voyage for everyone.”
She turned around and looked at her consort eternal, “let us begin our journey my love” She reached out a hand, and he took it.
