“Hide me” The hooded figure quickly sank down on an empty chair, placing a mug of beer in front of him.
Benji, Lukas and Brandon Blackwoods stared at Aeron Bracken as he sat down comfortably and began to sip his beer.
“Um..hi, Aeron. ”
“Sorry, I didn’t expect my cousins to be here tonight. I got here earlier and my date is running late, and I’d rather not cross paths with them. They would cause a scene or something.” He sighed in relief and pulled his hood down a bit more. “Good thing I’m wearing black today - maybe they won’t notice me.”
“Black in a bunch of Blackwoods,” Lukas grinned. “You’ll blend right in.”
“A date?” Benji asked, raising an eyebrow. “ You're finally going out with someone? You've been turning everyone down for as long as I can remember.”
Aeron sighed wistfully and rested his chin on his hand. "Oh, I was rejected last year too, but Davos was sooo sweet and polite." His gaze turned dreamy.
The Blackwood boys exchanged glances. “Davos? Our Davos? The Blackwood one?”
Aeron nodded, still smiling dreamily, obviously all over his strange memories.
“Bracken, you know you’re kinda weird, right?” Benji snorted. “Davos? Sweet and polite? He’s a wildling and a total pain in the ass, anything but sweet.” The others laughed and nodded in agreement.
Aeron’s eyes narrowed in challenge. “Don’t you dare talk about him like that.”
"Oh, for fuck's sake, don't tell me you think he's... handsome or something?"
“But I do,” Aeron replied, blushing. “He’s handsome, sweet, interesting - and hot.” He pulled his hood down further. "And besides, he's your cousin. Why are you all slandering him?" He looked at them suspiciously.
"We're just surprised he hasn't mentioned any of this. Fries?" Brandon offered, pushing the plate towards him.
"And he's not talkative," Aeron shrugged, grabbing a fry as he glanced through the crowd.
“Does he even know Davos is coming?” Lukas whispered to Benji, who could only shrug in response.
Benji and the others exchanged confused looks. Why the hell did Davos turn him down? He'd always seemed to like this Bracken. It didn't make any sense.
They changed the subject to university stuff, with Aeron slowly sipping his beer and chewing on fries, occasionally scanning the entrance.
“All good? You weren’t ditched or anything?” Benji asked, half looking around to see who Aeron was waiting for.
“No, he’s just late. We haven’t seen each other for a week because of exams.” Aeron’s face softened into a smile. “I just miss him so much.”
At the same time, the Blackwoods froze and looked up at Aeron, who was very thoughtfully dipping fry in ketchup. Davos was approaching them, and all the boys felt a little uneasy.
“Oh, I was looking for this hoodie.” Davos said, pulling back Aeron’s hood. Aeron smiled and put a finger to his cheek. Davos pressed his lips to it gently.
“Borrowed it for a bit,” Aeron winked.“Everything is good?”
“Better now. I’m yours for the whole weekend ” Davos scooped Aeron up and pulled him into his lap. Aeron handed him a fry, and Davos took a bite out of his hand, his eyes never leaving Aeron’s.
The Blackwoods sat there, wide-eyed.
“What?” Davos asked, catching their stunned expressions.
Benji cleared his throat and looked at Aeron. “You said he rejected you.”
Aeron gave Davos a playful grin.“He did at first, so I had to chase him a bit to catch. I knew he liked me.”
Davos rolled his eyes and placed a kiss on Aeron's nose. “You know I’ll let you catch me any day.”
Aeron laughed and leaned against Davos' shoulder. “Good, because I don’t plan on stopping.”
The Blackwoods just shook their heads, exchanging a mixture of amusement and surprise as Davos held Aeron close and muttered, "And I don't plan on letting you go."
