Summary:

Or how (some) of Hawke’s romances get and let her know the bad news. Cause Isabella is in Rivini and not with Hawke in DA:The Veilguard.

Again you can change the name and the gender of Hawke any way you choose.

This is due to too many TicTok’s using the song to draw out angst and I had to write it out

Work Text:

I may not live to see our glory, but I will gladly join the fight….

Anders

Finding Tabitha Hawke while on the move was only possible thanks to her updating only the Inquisitor Merlin and her best friend Varric with his little protégée Rook, who she hadn’t heard from in a while, but that was often the way when shit was hitting the fan quite literally with this new blight, and two dangerous elvhen ‘gods’ running amok. “Tabitha you have a missive.” Anders told her and while she was distracted with her own thing that got her attention. Everyone in the party called her Hawke thanks to Varric, so calling her by her fist name? It was serious but she was still kind of distracted.

Fenris

Loving a revenge driven elf was easy. Yes they had a bumpy time when he thought to call off their relationship but Hawke had always been stubborn, and she got him back. She was proud of the progress in teaching him to read as the both of them made sure Kirkwall was defended against this threat of Darkspawn and blight. Sure it wasn’t hitting them yet but any refugees (and by the Maker wasn’t this a repeat of nearly a decade ago) that got to their shores were shown more care than that time. Fenris had two envelopes in hand. “Tabitha? You have a missive.” Getting refugees settled was difficult and distracting, but that got her attention.

Merrill

There was something weird going on with the fixed eluvian (not to mention the world itself) and Hawke was checking to see if anything was going on with it, with her when Merrill answered the door and got a message. Out of habit she saw the two sigils: the Inquisitor Merlin’s and Varric’s newest friend a Crow of Antivian, Zythrid de Riva. Merrill read the first bit and lost the color in her face. “Tabitha? You got a missive.”

Sebastian

He had to make sure with Tabitha that Kirkwall and Starkhaven were ready just in case the Blight spread to their respective cities. They didn’t often get to see one another as Tabitha couldn’t leave Kirkwall and he as it’s Prince, couldn’t leave Starkhaven. But they made their relationship work. He gets the two missives that were delivered to Hawke manor, and checked the two stamps curious as to why the Inquisitor and Varric’s friend the Crow would be writing and opened the letter. He finds Tabitha distracted with her clothing. “Tabitha, dear? You got a missive.”

And when our children hear our story…

If it’s from Varric I’ll read it later.” She says still wary about the using her first name but not really thinking about it.

It’s from the Inquisitor Merlin and Zythrid de Riva.”

They’ll tell the story of tonight…

Read it to me?” She asks knowing to use both the Inquisitor and Rook’s name too? That can’t be good. She looked into the misty eyes of her beloved and knew for certain….it was the worst news to ever get.
