Saku rounds the corner and freezes, then sighs in relief when he notices paint-stained clothes, scattered spray paint cans, and an open sketchbook on the ground.
He’s been looking forward to dive back into his book during lunch break, and it would’ve been devastating to find anyone other than Momose in his quiet reading spot.
“Momose-shi.”
“Hi, Mizu-chan!” Momose beams, lifting a sleeve-covered hand to fist bump him. How cute. “Running from the fighting?”
“Mhmh. Just looking for somewhere quiet to read.”
“Hehee, Ume-chan and the others have our backs! I’m covering yet another of Endou’s masterpieces. He really went big this time, look!”
Saku squints at the phallic shape obscenely curving around the window. He can appreciate the clean lines and clever use of surroundings, but not the crass subject.
He’s sure Momose will make this hallway look more dignified.
“Mind if I sit with you?”
“’course not!”
Saku takes a seat on the opposite side of the defiled wall, cross-legged on a clean piece of cardboard, and resumes his reading.
The rattling and hissing of Momose’s spray cans don’t bother him as much as he thought. He can only hope peace at Furin will sound just as nice.
