Work Text:
Simon's flat has a bathtub. He's never actually used it — prefers to take quick showers, in and out, sees no reason for standing around to bask in the warm water. In all the years he's lived there, it's gone unused.
That is, until you visit his place for the first time.
Once you see it you're immediately gushing about how amazing a long, warm bath must feel after stressful days, how it must help his achy muscles, and oh, how wonderful a self-care evening would be, with masks and bubbles and candles.
He's not embarrassed to admit he goes into full research mode once you're asleep in bed next to him. He looks at salts, bath bombs, even specific soaps for bubble baths. Buys a few scented candles and face masks too, just for good measure.
So when you're staying the night, the following weekend, Simon's opening the door with the widest smile you've ever seen him wear.
“Have a surprise for you,” he says, quickly ushering you inside and towards the bathroom. You've barely gotten your coat and shoes off, but follow him eagerly as he basically drags you by the wrist, giggling at your boyfriend's obvious excitement.
When he pushes the bathroom door open you see a few lit candles on the counter, a small cart stockfull of various bath bombs, soaps and a basket with face masks.
“You've been busy,” you laugh, pressing a kiss to his cheek before looking closer at the bath bombs — picking a few of them up to smell and investigate. “Have you had a chance to try it out yet? Which one's your favourite?”
“Not for me,” Simon explains, crowding against your back, winding his arms around your middle to pull you close against him. His head is bent, nose burrowed between your neck and shoulder to breathe you in. “For you. For us.”
And that's how you wind up with your back to Simon's chest as he traces invisible patterns on your naked thigh, hot midnight-blue bath water covering both of you from the chill of the flat. It had taken barely any convincing to get him to agree to a charcoal face mask — he'd bought it for both of you to use together, after all.
