Summary: Jaehee returns to work. Her hair had grown. Jumin notices.

Hair

With some gentle encouragement Jumin managed to convince Jaehee to take her days off. Even though she was the one who negotiated—it was actually challenging for her to even think of relaxing or doing anything aside from working without feeling anxious and guilty. Jumin ensured her that her absence will not be world ending and assured her that as long as she stuck to the guidelines on the employee handbook, there will be no issue.

Jaehee took baby steps. She took half days, then one day every so often and from there she gradually increased her time away from work. It is not much of a wonder being an upstanding employee and one that hardly if ever took a day off that she had racked up as much time as she had.

A loud blaring roused Jaehee from her relaxing slumber. She stretched, her feet poking out from her comforter. She slid slowly out of bed. Her body moved sluggishly in a routine that was familiar to her. Has it really been a week? She wondered to herself, the only thought in her head, while she fixed her self a cup of black coffee and a buttered toast. A small gasp escaped her. Jaehee! She scolded her self. Was this how “normal” people felt like after taking some days off from work? She raised her hands and slapped her cheeks twice. There was no more internal debate after. She slipped into her work uniform and was out of the door promptly before her taxi arrived.

It was the day she was going back to work and just her luck, the traffic was ridiculous. Jaehee checked her watched and sighed as she looked out the window. Maybe—Hopefully she would make it just right on time. Which by her standards was late and knowing Jumin... him too. She winced and placed a hand on her stomach, while the voices in her head reprimanded her. She knew that even one day away had potential to throw her off from being the perfect standard of an employee that both she and her boss expected of her. Since she had always went above and beyond and that had become the standard, she had no idea how things would play out once she stepped into the office.

Her thoughts were interrupted when her ride halted and she looked outside to see an all too familiar glass building with the sign “C & R International” on it. She thanked her driver and stepped out, a hand in her pocket clutching her phone as she walked with purpose to her destination. She was both curious yet anxious to see the time on the screen and determined and focused on her goal at once. Just taking the phone out to glance at it would definitely take up time she could not spare. With wide strides, she crossed the lobby, glancing at the elevator as she passed it, choosing to use the stairs.

She reached the CEO's floor in not time at all, which was not really a surprising feat for her. Yet, her heart was pounding, and she felt her clothes clinging to her in a disheveled matter due to her efforts. The woman at the front desk greeted her and informed her that she was free to report to her boss. Jaehee nodded and walked towards his office. Seeing her self reflected in the glass as she walked down the hall, she adjust her clothes before she knocked on his door.

“Come in.” She heard her boss' deep, silky, voice through the intercom. The painful knots in her stomach dissipated as she slowly opened the door and entered the office. Jaehee softly shut the door behind her and turned to face her boss. Jumin peered up from his computer, eyes widening for a second at the sight before him before he promptly got up and walked towards his secretary.

Jaehee swallowed, as he approached. It felt like she saw him move towards her in slow motion and suddenly he was right in front of her. It definitely has been some time because she's noticing how he actually towers over her. Reflexively, her body arched back as his face moved close towards hers. She fought the urge to shut her eyes from surprise and forced them wide open to look on in confusion. From the corner of her eye, she saw his hand move. A sigh passed through her lips, when she felt a gentle tug and her hair graze her cheek.

“Your hair...”

“My hair...” Jaehee parroted.

“It grew.”

“As hair does in time, Mr. Han.” she responded and quickly added, “Don't worry, I'll be cutting it again,”

Jumin did not respond, only letting the strands fall back to the side of her face. Straightening up, he allowed what looked like a small smile on his face.

“Welcome back.”

Jaehee allowed herself to smile back.

“I'm back.”

A/N: This has been sitting in my computer for a long time now. Just a little scenario I imagined just because and I had to make it happen. Definitely something nice, light fluff and a good start to writing again. As always please leave some kudo, comments, crits!!!
