Work Text:

Gigi did not have it easy at the kids school after her and Nat’s breakup. It didn't even take a month for the “Mom-circle” to know that they broke up and that her cheating was the reason for it.

After that she was the black sheep, people avoided her like the plague whenever they could. She was just glad their treating her like a bitch did not affect the way they treated their kids.

People were, in her opinion, too absorbed in other people's lives. She knew that what she did was wrong, she didn't need a reminder everytime she picked her kids up from school.

It had taken her almost four years to not be looked down at, to not be snarled at whenever she said something. While she did enjoy it, she also knew that even the slightest incident could take this cautious peace away again.

That incident came in form of a very beautiful, young, dark haired woman standing in front of the school leaning against her Lamborghini SUV. Dani had changed cars to a family friendly one shortly after they started dating. In case she said, but deep down Gigi knew that Dani adored her kids. They sometimes joked that Dani dated her because of her kids rather than because of the women herself.

But back to the beginning

Gigi had arrived at the school festival together with Nat and the kids, Dani had been running late but promised to be there before Olive’s play.

“Who's that?” Gigi heard one of the soccer Mom's whisper as they looked out the window beside her. “Who?” She head another one, coming to a halt to see better what's outside. Gigi rolled her eyes and continued setting up the cake stand Eli's class was responsible for, again they were getting invested in things they shouldn't.

“Probably a Nanny who took care of more than just the kids,” another one said dismissively.

“Well, we all know how that happens,” the first one said a little louder in Gigi's direction. She tried hard to swallow the outburst that's building inside of her.

“But the audacity, imagine. Coming here with a car obviously above your pay grade and play happy family,” the first one said again.

“Oh look there's some kids walking up to her,” the second one stated.

“Isn't that, well that explains a lot. Seriously I didn't expect anything else from her,” the first one snapped. Gigi could feel all three women's eyes on her.

“Couldn't you leave your girl-toy at home?” The third one snapped. Gigi looked at them dumbfounded.

“Excuse me,” she asked.

“Isn't it enough that she ruined your marriage, do you really have to bring her here and shove it in everyone's face?” The first one again.

“Poor Nat, seeing how you choose your sugar-baby over your family,” the second one added right after.

Gigi finally looked out the window and saw the brunette goddess kneeled down to be on eye level with Eli who was telling her something while flailing his arms around wildly.

Gigi took a deep breath considering if it was worth it to start an argument right now or to go out and ignore them. She decided to do the latter and walked past them as she rolled her eyes.

Outside she could see the moment Dani spotted her, as always the younger woman's eyes lit up and her smile grew a bit wider. Gigi placed a soft kiss on Dani’s lips at the same time as she ruffled her sons hair.

“Hey you,” she said as they pulled apart.

“Eli just told me about the amazing cake stand you helped his class set up,” Dani grinned.

“Yeah,” Gigi said, Dani could sense that something was up so she looked at the brunette intently.

Gigi took a deep breath to clear her head and smiled, “it's nothing.”

“Come on Dani you have to see the cake stand,” Eli said as he pulled on Dani's arm softly. The brunette giggled but followed the young boy dutiful. Before she took more than two steps she reached for Gigi's hand and pulled the brunette along.

As they walked past the three women gossiping before, Gigi glared at them as a warning.

“See this cake is the one Mom baked, and here's the one from Mama, did you help with it?” Eli showed Dani the cakes enthusiastically. Dani was oblivious to the tension her girlfriend and the women shared as she looked at the beautiful decorated cakes.

“No I haven't, I was working late yesterday,” Dani replied to Eli.

“Pfft working,” the third woman snorted quietly while the second mumbled, “probably wrecking another family.”

“Eli, can you do me a favor and go look for your Mom and Olive?” Gigi said trying to sound as calm as possible.

“What's going on here?” Dani asked as soon as the boy was out of earshot.

“Don't you think it's uncalled for to come to a school festival,” the first woman asked.

“I don't see the issue here,” Dani said looking at Gigi instead of the woman talking to her.

“These three, who should be more concerned with their own life's rather than mine, think you are her,” Gigi replied with emphasis on the her.

“Oh I see,” Dani replied and gave Gigi the opportunity to reply to these women before saying something herself.

“You know what, I really don't care what you think about me. You made it very clear over the years that in your story I will forever be the bad guy, fine by me. But let me tell you something. This woman right here, you do not get to insult her,” Gigi started and stepped closer to Dani.

“Talk about me all you want, but if you ever call my girlfriend a homewrecker again, you'll get to know a completely different me,” she continued.

“And for your information, no she is not the woman I cheated on Nat with. She is not a Nanny and not a sugar-baby. She is a successful CEO, who has more than you and your husbands combined and probably does more for this world than any of ever will,” she ended her statement and was about to storm off with Dani when the younger woman stopped her in her tracks and leaned in.

“That was hot, thank you for correcting them,” she whispered in her ear and placed a soft kiss on her cheek.

“It's not our fault you tend to go for younger ones,” one of them mumbled. Gigi had no idea who it was. She turned around ready to yell at them when she felt Dani's hand on her shoulder, grounding her.

“Look I have no idea who you are or what your problem with Gigi is, all I can tell you is that until you have anything nice to say to my girlfriend you better not talk to her at all,” Dani all but growled and judging by the look on the woman's face she had her perfect CEO face on.

“Come babe,” Dani added as she turned around and walked off to where Eli took off earlier.

Gigi caught up with her and mumbled in her ear, “as hot as that was you are aware that we have to work the cake stand with them after Olive's play?” Based on the look that washed over Dani's face and the laugh Gigi let out, the younger woman apparently was not aware of that.

“Oh, boy,” she mumbled to no one in particular
