‘Chalkak chalkak’
Sakuya put his phone closer to his face so that he could see the pictures that he took just now. He giggled while scrolling through all of his masterpieces and would be saved inside a special folder that he created just for this.
So far, he has at least 30 pictures inside that folder and definitely more to come.
“What are you doing?”
Yushi suddenly came out of nowhere and saw how Sakuya was taking a picture of sleeping Daeyoung in front of him. He was confused and wondered what was his intention for that.
Sakuya jumped in surprise at the sudden voice behind him and sighed out of relief while rubbing his chest when he saw Yushi. He glanced at the tall hyung in front of him, in case Daeyoung woke up from his slumber, but he's definitely sleeping like a log.
Leaning closer to Sakuya to take a peek on his phone, Yushi grabbed the maknae’s hand that was holding the phone and frowned. “Why are you taking a picture of Daeyoung while he's sleeping?”
“Because Daeyoung’s sleeping face is cute and funny,” Sakuya said while scrolling the phone to show more pictures that he took to Yushi.
It was not a lie but Yushi was sure that the youngest is planning some blackmail material for their main vocalist. Daeyoung sleeps really hard. It was such a deep sleep that everyone thought that he wouldn't wake up even if there's any explosion.
“Look! I have a folder of his sleeping pictures,” Sakuya showed to Yushi and the latter could get a glimpse of those pictures before Sakuya pressed the ‘back’ button.
No, I need to see more.
“So why did you come, Yushi?” Sakuya asked.
Suddenly, Yushi remembered again why he's here. They just finished their music show schedule for today and then, they will go back to their company for a fancall schedule later. So everyone was busy packing all their stuff so that nothing would be left behind.
While Yushi was scrolling through his phone earlier, the manager hyung told Yushi to wake Daeyoung up since he was sleeping on the sofa after the music show ended. Yushi nodded and followed the manager's order and walked towards where Daeyoung was but then, he saw Sakuya there.
He wondered why manager hyung didn't ask Sakuya instead.
“Ah, manager hyung asked me to wake Daeyoung up since we're leaving later,” he responded.
Sakuya nodded but suddenly, a lightbulb appeared on his head. “Yushi, let's make a bet,” he said excitedly.
The main dancer frowned when the young rapper suggested something. He wondered what was his plan at the time like this when they were rushing right now.
“One of us should try to wake Daeyoung hyung up without calling him or using our hands,” Sakuya let out his idea. “If I win, you have to buy me bread. If you win, I will buy you a ramyeon.”
Yushi smiled at the mention of ramyeon. Besides, he's hungry like crazy right now so no matter what, he had to win this and save his money.
“Call!”
And then, it started. Sakuya began searching for the loudest alarm clock that he knew and played it in the loudest volume as possible.
The staff around them startled and looked at the source of the sound because it was so loud. Yushi and Sakuya froze because they didn't realize that they went a bit overboard with the sound and bowed their heads apologetically while pointing at Daeyoung.
It was an open secret that Daeyoung was hard to wake up so the staff just understood it immediately and resumed their work. Yushi nudged Sakuya to slow down the volume a bit and he followed.
Surprise, surprise! Daeyoung was still sleeping calmly.
Now, it's Yushi's turn.
Yushi opened a video app to search for the military bugle sound and put his phone close to Daeyoung's face, specifically the speaker that was directed to his ear, and pressed the button to play the audio.
The Cheeseballz duo just waited and stared at Daeyoung while the sound of military bugle blasting near the tall tree’s ear. The volume is not as loud as Sakuya's alarm just now but still loud enough for everyone to hear. Luckily the staff didn't spare a glance on that.
And Daeyoung’s eyes still shut tightly with zero movement. They wondered if their main vocalist was still alive at this point as Sakuya tried to put his index finger on Daeyoung's nose to check of he's still breathing.
“Is his soul out of his body or what? How can he not hear this alarm?” Yushi grumbled, not accepting that he might lose this challenge.
In their dorm, the members would take turns waking Daeyoung up. Usually it's Sion hyung, as the leader of the group. Sometimes, Yushi would help Sion and to say that it was not easy is understatement, but Yushi has some tricks and it worked every time.
Sakuya wanted to try again. He didn't want to give up until Yushi had to buy the bread for him. He also opened the video app and searched for the shuttle run sound and Yushi frowned at the maknae’s choice of sound.
“Shuttle run sound? I don't think he will ever wake up from that?” Yushi thought.
“Well, it's not hurt to try,” Sakuya shrugged and put his phone close to Daeyoung's left ear before pressing play.
The shuttle run sound was calmer than the other two sounds played previously and Yushi swore that there's no way Daeyoung would wake up from that. If he hadn't moved an inch with a loud alarm, what did Sakuya expect for the shuttle run?
Without a doubt, Daeyoung was still sleeping soundly.
Both of them sighed. They only had 20 minutes left before leaving but the human golden retriever didn't show any signs of waking up from his dreamland. Everyone in the room was almost done packing everything and only needed to tidy up the room.
Then, a staff member came towards the three of them and she tapped Daeyoung's shoulder while calling out his name. After that, she proceeded to shake his body a little bit too hard and called Daeyoung's name while raising her voice a bit. The tone was curt that the two boys felt scared if the staff member ended up getting angry.
Luckily, Daeyoung opened his eyes and blinked blankly while looking at his surroundings. The female staff nagged at him a bit before telling him to get ready to go back to the company. Clearly the main vocalist was in confusion with what happened and stared at the two members in front of him.
“Good morning,” Yushi teased before extending his hand to grab Daeyoung’s hand but the latter was stretching his body while yawning with his mouth wide open.
Upon seeing that, Sakuya quickly directed his phone towards Daeyoung to take another picture but groaned when the hyung already stopped doing that action.
Another moment missed.
But Sakuya still managed to snap a few Daeyoung's sleepy face after waking up and looked satisfied regardless.
After that, Yushi grabbed Daeyoung's hand before pulling him to stand up from the sofa. Daeyoung just let himself be pulled by Yushi, totally not fighting at all because he was so tired.
This was one of the tricks that Yushi used to wake him up. He would come to his room and pull the sleeping taller guy’s blanket. Then, he grabbed Daeyoung's hands and made him sit until he's fully awake. But since he's sleeping in a sitting position, Yushi had to use all his strength to pull Daeyoung from the sofa.
Daeyoung clearly looked like a babo now. Yushi chuckled at the main vocalist's state that looked like his soul hadn't entered his big body yet. Once Daeyoung snapped out of his senses, he looked at Yushi with his puppy face.
“Hyung…” Daeyoung said in a groggy voice.
“Get all of your things now. We're leaving soon,” Yushi told him, earning a small nod from his one and only Korean dongsaeng and then, he left the Cheeseballz duo to fetch his stuff.
Sakuya also wanted to go and take his bag but Yushi stopped him. He turned to the main dancer with a questioned look. “What?”
Yushi pointed at Sakuya's phone while saying, “Give it to me later.”
The maknae frowned, and didn't understand what Yushi was trying to say. Give what?
“Those sleeping Daeyoung photos. I want all of it from your folder,” Yushi firmly stated.
“Why?”
Yushi kept quiet when Sakuya asked why did he want Daeyoung’s sleeping photos. He tried to think of an excuse but it was hard to explain. However, he really wanted those photos so bad and of course, he didn't want Sakuya to think anything weird.
“I just need something to laugh at.” Well, it was a half lie. Maybe not exactly laughing, but maybe he needed something to lighten up his mood when feeling down. “I'll buy you a bread if you give me those photos,” Yushi had no choice but to do this, even though he was still upset for not getting the ramyeon.
“Okay!” Sakuya said with no hesitation. He just couldn't say no to the bread.
“Good!”
Yushi immediately walked away from Sakuya, leaving the younger one still in bewilderment but slowly, he understood why. Oh, how could he not notice before?
Sakuya then went to take his bag with a smile on his face while looking back and forth at Yushi and Daeyoung from afar.
