“...This is why we encourage you to take a wife. It would benefit the Malfoy reputation greatly!” Lucius Malfoy finished off. The way that he managed to escape the clutches of Azkaban would puzzle Draco himself greatly. He suspected bribery, but he’d probably never be able to prove it.
“Pardon, father? Who would want to marry me?” Not that I’d ever marry a woman willingly, he silently added in his head.
“Don’t worry, Draco. I’ve already set up a marriage with the Greengrasses.” His mother interjected. “They’ve said their daughter Astoria would be thrilled to marry you.”
“But- Isn’t it all too sudden?”
“It’s just a marriage contract, Draco. You don’t have to feel anything. Just give us an heir.”

“Hello? Hello? Earth to Draco?”
“Uh- What?”
“Oh, there you are. I was starting to get worried.” Astoria said, smiling at him. “But seriously, are you alright?”
“Oh… It’s just… All of this, you know?” Draco gestures, not really knowing what he was doing. “It’s just so sudden.”
“Well, I was trying to tell you about McGonagall offering Hogwarts 8th Year to those who didn’t get to attend last year. I’m going for my 7th year, you should go for your 8th, Draco.” She acted as if they were the bestest of friends… Although he barely even knew her.
Draco forced a smile. “Yeah… I should.”
She kissed him on his cheek, messing up his hair in what should've been an affectionate way. He, however, felt nothing. No warmth, no love. It was a purely political relationship, wasn't it?

Oh how he had felt excitement on this very day… Two years ago. Oh, to be a teenager and young again.
There he was. The bane of Draco’s existence.
Harry. Fucking. Potter.
Surrounded by his group of fangirls and boys. Could never really catch a break.
Hell, at least he had fans. All Draco had was obnoxious people muttering next to him, “Child Death Eater.” He thought that would at least change after the trial… Where Potter testified for him.

Astoria suddenly walked up to him, smiling slightly. "Do you know a manga series called Bungo Stray Dogs?"

"Oh, was going to ask you whether you liked Dazai with the waitress or Dazai with Yosano."
Potter walks by, and glances at them. "Oh, are you guys talking about Bungo Stray Dogs? Well, I'm more of a Soukoku guy myself."
Astoria snaps his head towards him. "Oooo, enemies to lovers. You have factually correct opinions, Potter. Now, I would like to discuss the partnership that Dazai and Chuuya had before Dazai left- Oh or when they first met! Trust me, it was love at first sight..."
Draco covered his ears. What the fuck. What the fuck is this life.
I didn't know Astoria was secretly a fujoshi, of all things!
Look, there was other things to get mixed up on. Maybe Astoria liking men kissing wasn't such a terrible thing considered with that.
