Work Text:

Running like a madman through long abandoned halls, his motivation never wavered. The dire need to reach it in time, reach her in time. Loki turned the corner and came to a running stop, his chest heaving. There she stood, her long hair flowing down her back, the sheer dress barely concealing a body he’s wanted to claim as his own. The air was electric as he stared at her, her lips parted, and Loki could hear her shallow breaths. The pull was like none other, pulling him to her without abandon. When he stood a breath away, he could feel the unspoken tension between them.

His hand came up, the urge to touch her, to feel her automatically making his body act. She held her breath as finally, as if they both waited forever for this moment, his cool hand rested on the side of her face. She let out a shallow breath, closing her eyes and leaning into his hand greedily. A surge of fire ran through his cold veins, bringing a warmth only she could ever produce.

Loki felt the pull, the sensation that this fleeting moment would end. He cursed internally, his other hand coming up to cup her face between his hands. Her eyes fluttered open, and the look she gave him sent him to into a feverish haze. “I’d give up forever to touch you my dear.” Her lush lips parted, and her voice melodic and sweet whispered out his name pleasurably. His name had never sounded so sweet. His growing need started to become painful as her hands wrapped around him and pulled him that much closer; their lips practically upon one another. He could see the galaxies in the iris of her eyes.

He couldn’t wait longer, the pull trying to tear him away becoming stronger. Without hesitation he closed the space between them. The surge of heat, burned through him, his heart jackhammering in his chest. When her arms around him tightened and a small moan of pleasure grumbled in her chest, he threw all caution and patience to the winds. His tongue coaxed her lips to part, and she willingly opened herself to him, giving herself over completely.

All he could taste in this moment was the sweetest ambrosia of her breath entwining with his. He kissed her madly, feeling completely drunk on her. She pulled him in further as if wanting to become one, Loki could feel the brightness of her life burn through all his dark shadows. When the need to breathe eventually overpowered them, they pulled back, taking in oxygen greedily. His hands snaked to the back of her head, cradling her and leaning forward so both their foreheads were touching. “You are the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be...”

She opened to speak, but words never came out. The pull grew greater, the edges of the halls around them fading. Loki tightened his grip around her. “I don’t want to go back right now...” One of her hands came to grasp his face, making him pull back and watch her intently. The need burned right through him, and it pained him to know it would be over soon. She breathed out his name, so soft, so needy; but the wind carried it away.

Tears pulled in her eyes as she, undoubtedly, felt the pull herself. Everything around them started to fade, creeping in on them slowly, robbing them of their safe space. Angry tears pooled in his own eyes as she began to fade in his arms. He was being robbed.

He woke up with a sudden gasp. Angry and frustrated at the dream being cut off so suddenly, just as he got to taste her. But he knew, deep down, that sooner or later that dream would have to be over. That he would wake up on his cold and lonely throne. “Loki?” the voice, not being the one he ached to hear. He glanced up and saw Urd at the bottom of the steps, looking at him questioningly. “Are you alright?”

Loki hardened his face and bit out more forcefully than he intended, “I am fine. Leave me be.” Urd nodded and slipped away just as silently as she had appeared, not seeing the truth between his lies. Loki didn’t want the world to see him, they couldn’t understand. He was broken, a mess. The only cure – her – was far away. Until the day he could see her again. Until the day he could win heart and taste her lips. Until he was close enough to see the galaxies in her eyes once again.
