Work Header

you're my baby, say it to me.

Summary:

Every joyful, happy moment, every silly adventure, running into that battlefield.
That little girl, desperate to prove herself.

Damn society. Damn her heart for letting her get this attached. Everyone she’d even loved or cared about died, some way or another.
And it was always her fault. Always.

Notes:

I hope y'all like angst. I wrote this early in the morning, and I had to take a bit of a break cuz I was crying lol

Chapter Text

The lights of explosions weren’t colorful like Jinx preferred.

She liked explosions better when they were pretty.

But the only color she saw was blue.

Blue lights, blue hair-

Isha.

Jinx didn’t waste a single second going to run after her.

Isha had run straight into the battlefield, right towards Vander with her gun in hand, loading it with those damned blue crystals.

But as Jinx ran into the battle field, an arm grabbed her and pulled her back.

“ISHA!” Jinx screamed.

She hadn’t screamed that loud in a long time. Hadn’t since-

Since the day Vi had left her.

“ISHA!!” She cried again.

Every joyful, happy moment, every silly adventure, running into that battlefield.

That little girl, desperate to prove herself.

Damn society. Damn her heart for letting her get this attached. Everyone she’d even loved or cared about died, some way or another.

And it was always her fault. Always.

Vi was pulling Jinx back as much as she could, and Caitlyn moved forward to help.

But Jinx persisted.

She couldn’t lose Isha. She couldn’t.

She had just finally been able to be herself again, to be happy. And Isha was happy.

Then, Isha made a gun with her hands, and pretended to shoot at Jinx.

With a goddamn smile on her face.

Jinx screamed even louder, desperately trying to pull away from Vi and Caitlyn.

Suddenly, everything went dark.

It was quiet.

No sounds, no gunshots, nothing.

Jinx was laying on the battlefield, next to Vi and Caitlyn, who were holding each other.

For a moment, Jinx wanted to rip Caitlyn away and scream at her. But it hadn’t been Caitlyn’s fault, had it?

Then, Jinx caught sight of Isha.

Laying on the ground, blood on her face.

Jinx scrambled up to go to her, picking her up and holding her in her arms.

“I-Isha-“ Jinx whispered, brushing hair from her face.

“W-Wake up, t-this isn’t funny” She said as she tried to gently shake her awake.

Tears started pouring down Jinx’s face, and she could barely breathe.

Panic surged through her entire body as she shakily held Isha’s face.

“I-Isha- I-Isha please wake up- D-Don’t leave me-“ she cried as her tears fell onto the little girl’s face.

Jinx shakily moved her fingers to Isha’s neck, to check her pulse.

And there was nothing.

Jinx screamed so loud that Caitlyn began to wake up.

Jinx held Isha’s body and sobbed hysterically.

“M-My baby- O-Oh, my baby-“ She sobbed.

Caitlyn had been laying next to Vi, who was just slowly starting to wake up.

Caitlyn noticed that Vi was too weak to get up, so she crawled over to Jinx, hugging her.

“I-It’s okay. I-It’s gonna be okay” Caitlyn said, trying to comfort Jinx.

At this point, Jinx didn’t care that she despised Caitlyn.

She just wanted to be held.

Vi watched from the ground with tears in her eyes, watching her little sister cry.

Jinx was devastated. Isha was dead.

And it was all her fault.

Chapter 2: someone to watch me die

Notes:

This chapter takes place after episode 9. I thought about this when Jinx died, and couldn't help not writing it.
Obviously, none of us know what the afterlife is like, so this is just a fictional concept of it that I created.

as always, comments and kudos are appreciated!!

Chapter Text

Violet's screams filled the air as she fell.

She could only smile, knowing she had saved her.
The screams hurt her ears, but she knew that Caitlyn would be there to keep her alive, and happy.

To make her feel loved, like she deserved.

Blue light filled her sight, before everything went black.

Dark, quiet.

Death.

Death felt, strangely peaceful.
Calm, quiet, and dark.

Powder really had fallen down a well, hadn't she?

A well of darkness, but peace.
It wasn't cold, or sad. It was warm.

Powder opened her eyes, and she was laying on the ground. It was white, all around. The sound of laughter filled the air, as she saw a group of children run by.

And a giant, beautiful gate.

So this was the afterlife, huh?

Powder stood up and walked towards the gate, and felt something tug at her clothes.

She spun around, looked down, and saw her.

Isha.

"Oh, Isha" She cried, kneeling down to hug her.

"Isha, oh, my baby" She continued crying happily as she held her.

"I told you I'd never leave you, didn't I? I was only gone for a bit, but I'm back now. Mama is here, you're safe" Powder whispered, kissing her forehead and her cheek.

Isha hugged her back, and smiled.

They were reunited, at last.

Notes:

So, yes, it's a very short chapter. But I don't really have the time today to write a super long version of this, lol.
Here's the happy ending for everyone who's sad about Isha and Jinx's death.
At least they're together again <3

kudos and comments are appreciated!!!
