“Come on guys! We don’t wanna be late!” Cole rushes to the doors, motioning his team to follow faster. Kai, Nya, Lloyd, and Zane follow further behind. Lloyd looks around at all the people out on the town on a Friday night. Admiring the way the city lights were shining and lighting up the streets. “So this is what normal people, with normal lives get up to? Going to bars and shows?” He asks.
Kai chuckles, “Oh little bro. You have so much to learn, luckily the master of fire is here to show you a good time.” The boy in red smirks, throwing an arm over the green ninja’s shoulder. Causing the younger boy to roll his eyes, shaking his head at Kai’s excitement.
Zane tilts his head, “I am not sure why Cole is in such a rush. The show does not start until 9 O’clock.”
Nya fixes the dress she was wearing, slightly uncomfortable in her unusual get up. “The earlier we are, the better view we get of the stage. Knowing him, he wants to be right up front, uh who is playing tonight anyways?” She asks, looking at her brother. Kai grabs his phone and checks the website. “Doesn’t say, but this place is always hardcore, so it’s probably some epic rock band.” Nya sighs, rock was definitely not her taste but after saving Ninjago multiple times this week, she did not really care how she spent her night off, as long as she had a strong drink in her hand. “Right, okay.” She nods as she and the rest of the boys finally get to Cole who was waiting impatiently at the front of the bar before going in. They gasp softly at the crowd of people already there. She whistles, “Wow, whoever is playing tonight must have a lot of fans. I’ve never seen this place so packed.”
Kai rubs his hands together, “I have never seen so many attractive women in one room. I’m getting all of the ladies tonight.” He says. Zane looks at Kai funny, “Are you and Skylor not together anymore?” The robot asks. Kai shrugs, “She said we should take a break, so, no we are not together, Kai is a single man.” He says smugly before heading off into the crowd to chat it up.
Lloyd sighs and rolls his eyes again, “I hate when he refers to himself like that.” He mumbles before walking away with Zane to find a place to separate themselves from all of the people.
Nya looks over at Cole and smirks. “Are you paying for our first drink?” She teases the older boy. Cole smirks back at her, “Only if you’re getting our second one.” He says, holding his hand out to her. She takes it gracefully, “Sure thing Rocky.” She giggles at the nickname as they head over to the bar together. The two ninja sit down and Cole flashes the bartender a flirtatious smile.
“Say, you got any hero discounts in this place?” He asks, The bartender looks at the earth ninja funny. “Nice try…ninja pay full price. No exceptions.” He says and Nya pouts playfully, nudging Cole with her elbow to get his wallet out, already getting her ID out. “I’ll take a vodka soda please.” She smiles. Cole hands the bartender his ID and card as well. “Just put it all on my tab.” He says, Nya offering him a thankful smile before taking her drink. She makes a face at Cole’s drink choice.
“Whiskey? Really?” She asks.
He shrugs shamelessly. “I’m a mountain man, I like simple things.”
She giggles, “Whatever, cheers. Here’s to saving Ninjago…again.” She takes a sip, making a face at how strong it was.
Cole chuckles, “Yeah, again.” He says, taking his shot quickly, making a signal at the bartender to get him another one. He takes his new glass and gets up. “I’m gonna muscle my way up to barricade, wanna come?” Cole asks. Nya gets up, thinking for a moment before taking Cole’s hand again as he leads her up front. His eyes light up as he sees the band's instruments on stage. “Damn this is gonna be good-” He says right as the lights cut off. The whole bar is filled with screams as people shove in closer. Nya groans as she’s basically pushed against the barricade.
“Fangirls…I hate fangirls.” She mumbles, looking on the stage, seeing the drummer get on first. Then the keyboardist. She observes them carefully, taking another sip of her drink, watching as the next band member comes out. Grabbing his electric guitar, tossing the strap over his shoulder, throwing his hand down against the strings, resulting in a loud sound coming through the speakers, vibrating through her whole body. Usually she hates this type of music, but the guitarist was a sight to look at. Messy reddish brown hair, electrifying blue eyes, and freckles all over his face. He looked strong, especially as he walked around the stage with the heavy guitar. Nya was in her trance, staring at the boy, staring at his guitar that was airbrushed blue with lightning bolt designs. If she had been staring longer, she would have missed the lead singer coming out on stage.
“What’s up Ninjago!” The lead singer yells loudly into the mic, causing the fans to uproar again. “Are you guys ready to party?” Cole whoops and whistles, “Fuck yeah!” Yelling so loud that his voice cracks. Getting another giggle out of Nya. She focuses back on the lead singer. “We are Rage Against the Ninja, and we fucking hate the ninja. Who is with me?” He yells, the crowd shouting again.
“Wait what?” Nya and Cole shout at the same time before the drummer counts down, hitting his sticks together. The whole venue begins to shake with the hard rock blasting through the speakers and the two ninja turn towards each other, sharing a disturbed look before starting to push their way back out of the crowd, getting shoved around by jumping fans and aggressive men wanting to start mosh pits. Nya and Cole burst their way out of the crowd. “What the hell was that?” He asks, clearly offended. “Rage Against the Ninja? What kind of name is that?”
Nya frowns. Turning back to the stage, listening to the lyrics that were being sung. “Oh my god, this is like an anti ninja propaganda band. Listen to him, singing about how much he hates us.” Her gaze fixed on the boy in blue playing the electric guitar, feeling insulted that someone as good looking as him would be in such a despicable band. “So much for our fun night out. Let’s find the others and leave.” She tells Cole as they spread out to find the rest of their team.
