It was nighttime, Jack was watching TV, he felt bored, night was always boring for him, he would usually just go to bed but this time he wanted to watch some TV, trying to "spice" his night... It didn't really work.
Jack could feel a presence being near, a known presence.
Someone knocked at the door, at night? Well, that was weird... Jack went to open the door and found Dave, it was strange, Dave would usually enter his house from anywhere except his door, maybe he wanted something?
“Oh, hey Dave” he said to him.
“Why hello there, old sport! I 'brought' ya somethin'!”
Jack raised an eyebrow, why would Dave get something for him, was he forgetting something? Eh, doesn't matter.
Jack let Dave enter his house, they both sat on the couch and Jack looked at the present that the purple man gave him.
“This is not going to explode right?”
Dave laughed.
“Of course not Sportsy! I would never do that to my orange baby”
Jack giggle at the nickname, he found it cute.
“Alright, if you say so Dave”.
Jack opened the gift and saw a plushie of... Dave? I mean, it was cute, but it seemed off, he had a little mark at where's supposed to be the heart, did Dave do that on purpose? It didn't matter, he found it adorable that the purple man made this for him.
“Ah, that's cute Dave” he said while looking at the plushie.
“It's matching plushies Old Sport! You got me and I got you!”
Dave took his Jack plush from who knows where and showed it to Jack
“See? Matching!”
Jack's plushie version seemed to have a heart on his chest, which made Jack think a little about it.
“Hey Sportsy!” Dave said trying to call Jack's attention, as he seemed distracted by something.
“Hm?”
“I love you with all my heart!”
“...”
“...”
“You don't have a heart”.
“Well, I love you with all my heart, even if I don't even have one!”
Jack smiled a little, he seemed happy, it wasn't really normal for him to smile or show expressions at all, but Dave was always glad that he got to see every time he did.
“You're such a sweetheart Dave, thanks for the gift”.
“No problem Sportsy!”
“Do you want to watch TV until we fall asleep together?”
“Oh heck yeah!”
And they did, after a couple of minutes, they fell asleep while watching the TV, Jack slept first, putting his head on Dave's shoulder without noticing, the purple man found it cute and turn off the TV to sleep too. They were pretty much asleep by now, which was nice, since Dave didn't really seemed to get some rest while doing those plushies.
