“Come on Stelle, sit still!” Stelle knew she should listen to March but how could she help herself? She’s about to become a wife! “Seriously, keep it up and I’ll mess up your makeup!”
“Right Sorry.” Stelle kept as still as she could as March kept applying the makeup. She still didn’t understand why she had to wear makeup, but if it kept March preoccupied and happy, she’d go through with it.
Dan Heng just shakes his head with a smile, “Honestly March, you’re acting as if you’re the one getting married.”
“Hey! Stelle’s one of my favorite people and she’s getting married! I have every right to be excited!”
Qingque was already all dressed up in her bridesmaids dress giggling at the sibling like infighting. “As always you all are quite an entertaining lot.”
Stelle smiles, “We are, but we’re family. And I’m so happy to have both of mine here today.”
Asta giggles, “You're a pretty unique bride you know. Marrying a Stellaron Hunter and having two rivaling factions come together for a marriage. Truly an impressive feat.”
Stelle smiles, “Yeah, I really am lucky.” Stelle then perked up to get a better chance to make eye contact with Asta, much to March’s annoyance, “Hey thanks for funding everything by the way.”
“It’s nothing, seriously.”
“Yeah yeah. Just sit still already! Jeez, it’s like you want me to mess up your make-up.”
“Relax March, she’s just excited, surely you must understand.” Himeko’s voice says as she walks back into the room. “Welt’s already waiting at the altar. He seems pretty excited about his role in this.” Himeko walks up, greeting everyone before stopping in front of Stelle, “How are you feeling Stelle? Excited? Nervous?”
“Both honestly, but more than anything, I’m ready.”
Himeko smiles and pats Stelle’s head. I can tell, you look beautiful in that dress.”
Stelle smiles at the compliment. “Thank you Miss Himeko. I think I’m about ready.”
March butts back in, “Nuh uh, not yet you aren’t. I have to finish your makeup.”
Stelle sighs. Looks like she’ll have to wait a little longer to finally be Firefly’s wife.
“Ugh, gross. You look all beautiful and junk.” Firefly just giggles at Silver Wolf's teasing. She looked around. Silver Wolf, Kafka and Blade were all in their Japella Rebellion outfits. They really did all fit so well.
“I choose to take that as a compliment Wolfie.”
“Yeah yeah, whatever.” Silver Wolf could act as nonchalant as she wanted, but she couldn’t hide that genuine smile from Firefly.
Kafka chuckles and walks up, patting Firefly on the head. “I’m so happy for both of you.” Firefly can hear the grunt from the man leaning against the wall, “And don’t worry, Blade is happy for you as well. He just doesn't like having to be in the same location as Stelle’s Loufu friend.”
“I just hope they’ll behave. I can’t handle a major outburst at my wedding.”
“Relax, I have my spirit whisper at the ready. You and Stelle both deserve that much.”
Firefly smiles, “I appreciate you Kafka, and I’m sure Stelle does as well.” She sighs as another thought comes to mind, “You don’t regret not being able to walk Stelle down the aisle do you?”
Kafka sighs, “Of course I’d love it if I could, but I don’t regret it, not one bit. She has Miss Himeko, and I have you to walk. I’m sure we will get our mother daughter moment at some point during this wedding.”
Firefly just nods. Knowing Stelle, she already plans to make that the case. “Well, I’m about ready. Shall we begin?”
“About time.” The gamer piped up, “Let’s go already.”
With a nod from everyone else, she gets led out, her beautiful dress ready to stun the crowd to silence.
Everyone was in place, it was now time to bring the brides in. With a smile, Robin began to sing a special song she prepared just for this day.
As the music swelled, Stelle started to walk down the aisle with Himeko by her side. All eyes were on her as she walked past everyone. She seemed to have found a perfect blend of a suit and a wedding dress. An accomplishment Stelle seemed to be proud of. Of course, her makeup was on point as well thanks to March’s enthusiastic help.
Once Stelle reaches her spot she gives a smile and a nod to Welt and March. She’s excited, she’s nervous. She’s never been good at handling moments of anticipation, she just really wanted to marry Firefly already.
Suddenly March gasped, and when Stelle looked where March was staring, time seemed to freeze for her. Firefly was walking down the aisle and she looked so beautiful. Stelle honestly was expecting every Knight of beauty to swarm this Express car because she couldn’t imagine Idrilla could be even more beautiful than the woman who is walking her way smiling the most genuine smile on her face.
Moments pass and Firefly is by her side, never having dropped her smile. Whatever nerves she may feel, they are very clearly overshadowed by the love and joy she felt in the moment, and Stelle couldn’t help but feel the same way.
Welt clears his throat and begins, “Hello everyone. We are all gathered here today to celebrate two brilliant souls from two rivaling factions joining together in a harmonious pact.”
Stelle could only tune in and out of Mr Yang’s speech. Firefly was right in front of her and she looked gorgeous. As the speech went on, Stelle and Firefly just kept staring into each other's eyes. They both had the biggest smiles on their faces, tears of joy flowing down Firefly’s face. Who cares that everyone can see, let them look. They were so in love and they were not afraid to show it.
Stelle seems to tune back into Mr. Yang’s rambling just in time, “Now Pom Pom, may you bring the rings over?” Stelle couldn’t help but find the sight of Pom Pom waddling their way down the aisle holding the box of rings to be such an adorable sight. Sadly, that sight was short-lived as the conductor handed Welt. “Well Stelle, would you like to start with the vows?”
Right, vows. What would her promise be? What would her commitment to their marriage look like? No, Stelle knew she just had to speak from the heart.
“When I first woke up to my new life, I was left with some genuinely good advice from someone important to me. I was told that no matter where I am in my journey, to make a choice I’d never regret. Since that moment I had pretty much lived my life on auto-play, absentmindedly moving from place to place, living my life with a confident facade. That is until I met you. You got me to open up, to truly be me. I could never regret saving you from those bloodhounds. I could never regret falling in love with you, and I know I’ll never regret marrying you Firefly. So, that’s my promise to you Firefly, I promise that we’ll live a new life together, one we will never regret.” Stelle looked over and saw the biggest smile on Kafka’s face. Good, She really wanted Kafka to be proud of her, and she really did take her advice to heart.
Firefly smiles and Stelle turns her whole attention to her, “Stelle, If I am to be completely honest, I never grew up imagining my wedding day. I never even thought I’d get the privilege of living long enough to marry the person I loved. Then I met you. Stelle, you changed me in the best way possible Stelle, you gave me hope, something that I never dared to let myself have. I love you Stelle. You are my hope, my guiding light, my star. My wish, my hope, is that I can even remotely begin to return that favor. I promise you that we will take our intertwined destiny into our own hands. Our future will be ours to decide, and I will be the hope for you that you have always been for me no matter how long that may be.”
Stelle could hear some sniffles in the crowd, but that was all background noise. She and Firefly just bared their souls to each other and the genuine connection was everything Stelle could have wished for and more.
Welt then handed a ring to Stelle and Firefly, having them repeat their commitment to each other. It felt nice to feel her touch as they slid the rings onto each other's hand. It felt right.
Welt smiled, “With that I now pronounce you two married, you may now kiss your bride.”
There was no hesitation, within moments Stelle had dipped Firefly into a kiss as the crowd roared in cheers of acceptance. The cheers became muffled background noise as only one thought crossed Stelle’s mind, it felt nice to kiss her wife.
