Lost it in yesterday

Summary:

Don't let the past disturb your present.

Work Text:

It might’ve been something you said,

Maybe it was just yesterday,

It’s from yesterday’s present,

So, if it calls you,

Palm it smooth and circular,

A ball made to be thrown if it calls you,

I lost back into yesterday.

Orange and tedious was yesterday’s spring is just as much today,

Every tiresome tree flailing against the strong autumn breeze,

Their leaves, cracked and soaked from the autumn spit,

They lost it in a dull morning, noon and night.

Orange and tedious were the leaves as they whispered in your ears,

Nonsensical they were, correct,

But you believe what was lost yesterday.

It might’ve been something you said,

Or another that slurred,

Maybe it was just autumn,

perhaps it was just yesterday,

It’s from another’s present,

Do not fret!

So, if it calls you,

Whispers in your ears, something you do not know,

Palm it smooth and circular, ready for the skies,

A ball made to be thrown, prepared to fly forever,

Out of sight and out of mind,

Lost it in Yesterday.
