The streets of Calaneth were flooded with people as the bell towers sounded their alarms, hundreds of its denizens lined up with what they could carry behind in order to evacuate. Some people had looks of worry, others with confusion. A few young lads had broken off from the group and were seeing what valueables they could loot from a store. Overall, it didn't seem too off from the drills to the junior MPs in charge of crowd control.....
That was until a loud boom and a whoosh sounded off about a block away....
In an instant, the street came to life with pandemonium. The hundreds of semi-calm citizens screamed and began to rush forward. Several pushing past and trampling those who were infront of them. The young teens tried to do their best to maintain order, even firing a shot into the air but it was useless. Then came a rumbling and suddenly bits of housing and stores were hurled into a building facade at the far end of the street along the curve. This was finally punctuated by a horse and cart smashing into the building and knocking it over.
At that, all four soldiers turned and watched as a large foot emerged and stomped down, kicking up a good deal of dust and smushing a few unlucky souls. It looked almost like an overgrown dog's paw or maybe even the foot of a bird. Another earth shaking stomp rang out as the creature rounded the corner and came into full view. It was huge, easily being at least 15 meters tall and with an overall fat muscular build. .
"W-what the hell is that?.." murmured a blonde female as her squad began to back up slowly from their posts.
Godzilla reared back and inhaled through his nose, its mouth curling up into a snarl. It then sprang forward and let out a shrieking roar. The spikes on its shoulders flaring up like the hackles of a cat. Godzilla then relaxed and began to walk once more, crushing a group of people under foot. Their entrails squelching onto the ground.
