Work Text:
Ochako saw Hagakure and Ashido on the couch in the girls' side of the dorms, cuddling while watching a movie.
Ochako walked closer to them; a smile started to form on her face, but then a tiny pang of jealousy hit her.
She stopped smiling.
Ochako wondered if she’d ever gather the courage to confess to Izuku and not let her feelings get in the way of him being a hero.
Ashido paused the movie and looked at Ochako with a knowing look on her face. Ashido asked, “Hey, Uraraka! Are you going to watch the movie with us?” Ochako started looking back and forth between Hagakure and Ashido, a blush creeping up her face. She declined, “Sorry, guys, it’s around two in the morning, so I’m gonna go to my room,” she started waving her hands frantically in front of her, “So if you need anything, you can find me there!”
She quickly ran up the stairs, not exchanging goodbyes with Hagakure and Ashido.
Ashido looked at Hagakure quizzically and assumed she did the same.
Hagakure sensed an opportunity to talk to Ochako.
“I’m going to go check on Uraraka. I’ll be back in about ten minutes, Mina!” Hagakure giddily stated, and you could assume she was smiling.
Hagakure jumped up from the couch and began skipping to Ochako's room.
Ashido looked like she was going to say something but didn’t.
Ashido put her hand on her chin in thought, and started smiling mischievously.
————————————————————————
As Ochako stopped running, she walked to the door of her room and opened it.
Ochako walked to the side of her bed, pushed the covers back, and slid under her blankets.
She started tossing and turning in her bed.
As Ochako thought about Hagakure, she found herself fighting the blush on her face.
She couldn’t think of an explanation for why she kept blushing and had a weird feeling in her stomach, similar to the feeling she had when thinking of Izuku.
Even though the blush on her face and the butterflies in her stomach told her it wasn’t just Izuku she had a crush on, but also Hagakure.
————————————————————————
She heard a knock on her door, and her heart skipped a beat.
Ochako heard Hagakure on the other side of the door say, “Hey, Uraraka! I’m just checking in on you. You seemed a little weird back there!”
She quickly got up, removed the blankets covering her, and jumped off her bed.
She ran to the door and barely opened it, only leaving enough room so she could see Hagakure.
Ochako saw Hagakure’s body perk up and saw the sleeve of her shirt reach up and assumed Hagakure waved at her.
Ochako quickly shut the door with a raging blush on her face.
She heard a muffled “Hey!” Behind the door. Ochako quickly opened the door again.
She tried to walk out of the doorway and ended up tripping on air. Ochako let out a squeak as she started falling forward.
She saw that Hagakure tried to grab her arm to stop her from falling but missed.
Ochako closed her eyes as she braced for the incoming pain of hitting the floor, forgetting that she could try to make herself float with her quirk.
She felt pain and heard two identical cracks, but also something plush and soft on her lips.
She opened her eyes and saw that she had landed directly on Hagakure and that the soft feeling on her lips was her accidentally kissing Hagakure.
Hagakure wiggled out from under Ochako and started apologizing immediately, and you’d assume she was fighting a wave of blush on her face.
The only thing going through Hagakure’s head was, ‘That was just like those romance novels I read!’ While trying to calm the blush on her face.
All Ochako could think was, ‘How could I mess up that badly?’ While also trying to calm the blush on her face.
Ochako looked up and saw Hagakure’s sleeve stretched out in her direction. She guessed where Hagakure’s hand was and grabbed it.
She guessed where it was correctly and got off the floor.
Both of them stood there awkwardly, thinking of what they could say.
Ochako was looking away from Hagakure, thinking of ways to bring up how they probably both broke their noses, but she guessed Hagakure was too distracted to think about that.
Ochako looked at Hagakure, preparing to confess everything she had on her mind.
Suddenly Hagakure leaned very closely to Ochako’s face and gave her a quick kiss on her lips.
Ochako’s face started to blush more and more as the seconds passed by.
She saw Hagakure’s face.
Her beautiful, long, curly hair. Her shining teal and yellow eyes.
Hagakure started skipping down the hall, giggling down the stairs on her way to Ashido so she could start watching the movie again. Acting like the kiss didn’t change everything.
The only thing Ochako could think of was how she saw Hagakure's face for the first time, how the light shone from her eyes to her hair, making the smile on her face seem angelic.
She turned around and walked back into her room and then stopped.
She thought about how weird it was that Hagakure kissed her with her eyes open.
But in the end, she didn't care.
