The Visitation

Summary:

When Jaehee's parents come to visit

Work Text:

Yushi had been pacing for what felt like hours, biting his lower lip so hard it was a miracle it wasn’t bleeding. Jaehee’s parents were visiting for the first time since the two of them had moved in together, and while Jaehee was calm and collected as usual, Yushi was anything but.
He had met Jaehee’s parents before, back when they were still just dating.
Jaehee’s parents were kind and polite, but now that he was officially mated to their son, the stakes felt so much higher. What if they didn’t think he was a good match for Jaehee? What if they thought he was too harsh, too independent, too... himself?
As Jaehee’s mate, there was an unspoken pressure to be perfect—not just as Jaehee’s partner, but as the omega they’d expect their alpha son to be with.
Yushi stopped mid-pace, glancing at himself in the mirror. “Polite. Gentle. Sweet,” he mumbled, forcing himself to smile, though it felt more like a grimace.

“Yushi, relax,” Jaehee said from the kitchen, where he was preparing tea. “They already like you.”
“Sure,” Yushi muttered, pacing again. “But that was before they knew I called you an idiot three times in one sentence last week.”
Jaehee leaned against the counter, his lips twitching with amusement. “Five times, actually.”
“Not helping,” Yushi snapped, glaring at him.
Jaehee smirked. He loved seeing Yushi all flustered, even if it was over something as unnecessary as worrying about his parents’ opinions.

When Jaehee’s parents arrived, Yushi turned into a picture-perfect omega.
“Mr. and Mrs. Kim, it’s so nice to see you again,” he greeted them with a bright smile, bowing slightly. “Please, come in. Can I take your coats? Make you some tea?”
Jaehee, watching from behind, had to press a hand to his mouth to stop himself from laughing. The overly polite, sweet tone was so unlike Yushi that it was almost comedic.
The evening went smoothly at first, though Jaehee couldn’t stop noticing Yushi catching himself every time he almost slipped back into his usual snarky tone.
“Jaehee, can you pass me the—” Yushi started during dinner, his brow furrowing. He stopped abruptly, took a deep breath, and forced a polite smile. “Never mind, I’ve got it.”
Jaehee bit back a grin.
When Jaehee accidentally spilled a little tea while pouring for his mother, Yushi opened his mouth to comment but visibly clamped it shut, his jaw tight. Instead, he picked up a napkin and handed it to Jaehee without a word, though his sharp glare spoke volumes.
Jaehee’s father seemed oblivious, but his mother gave a knowing smile, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

After dinner, Jaehee’s parents moved to the living room, leaving Yushi and Jaehee to clear the table.
“You’ve been holding back all night,” Jaehee said, leaning against the counter as Yushi loaded dishes into the sink.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Yushi replied stiffly, though his ears turned pink.
“You do,” Jaehee teased, stepping closer. “You’re dying to call me an idiot for spilling tea earlier or forgetting the salt.”
“I don’t call you an idiot that much,” Yushi shot back, glaring at him.
“You do,” Jaehee said with a smirk, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from Yushi’s face. His eyes softened as he took in Yushi’s flushed cheeks and the nervous bite to his lower lip. “But it’s one of the things I love about you.”
Yushi’s hands stilled, and he avoided Jaehee’s gaze. “You’re just saying that because you feel bad.”
“Feel bad?” Jaehee repeated, his tone incredulous. “Yushi, you’ve been running yourself ragged trying to impress my parents when you don’t even need to. They already adore you. And so do I.”

Yushi’s throat tightened, but before he could respond, Jaehee leaned in, his voice dropping to a low murmur. “But seeing you like this? All flustered and trying so hard? It’s driving me crazy.”
“Jaehee,” Yushi whispered, his voice shaky as the alpha’s proximity sent a shiver down his spine.
Jaehee’s hands settled on Yushi’s hips, pulling him closer. “You have no idea how much I want to kiss you right now.”
“Your parents are—”
“Outside,” Jaehee interrupted, his dark eyes gleaming with a hunger that made Yushi’s knees weak. “And I don’t care.”
Before Yushi could argue, Jaehee tilted his chin up and captured his lips in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was hot and demanding, stealing the breath right out of Yushi’s lungs.
Yushi’s hands gripped Jaehee’s shirt as he tried to ground himself, his body pressed against the counter. The alpha’s lips moved against his with a possessive intensity, his tongue sweeping into Yushi’s mouth and making him gasp.

The kiss deepened, Jaehee’s hands sliding up Yushi’s sides and leaving a trail of heat in their wake. Yushi couldn’t stop the soft whimper that escaped him, which only seemed to spur Jaehee on.
“Jaehee,” Yushi managed to gasp, pulling back just enough to glare weakly at him. “Your parents.”
Jaehee rested his forehead against Yushi’s, his breathing heavy. “They won’t come in here,” he murmured, his voice rough. “But you keep making these little sounds, and it’s killing me, Yushi.”
Yushi’s face burned, and he pushed lightly against Jaehee’s chest. “You’re ridiculous.”
“And you’re irresistible,” Jaehee replied, leaning in to nip at Yushi’s lower lip.

“Everything alright in there?” Mrs. Kim’s voice called from the living room, startling them both.
Yushi froze, his eyes wide with horror.
Jaehee chuckled softly, stepping back but keeping his hands on Yushi’s waist. “Just fine, Mom,” he called back, his voice steady.
Yushi smacked his arm, glaring at him. “You’re insane.”
“Only about you,” Jaehee said with a grin, brushing a quick kiss to Yushi’s temple before finally letting him go.
Yushi huffed, turning back to the dishes to hide his red face. “You’re lucky I love you.”
Jaehee’s smile softened, his gaze lingering on Yushi. “And I’m lucky you’re mine.”
Despite his embarrassment, Yushi couldn’t help the small smile tugging at his lips.
