He gave it a pointed look.
“You don’t know, you actually might like it,” Hermione tried to reassure.
With one finger he dipped it into the icing and took a whiff.
“It’s strawberry icing, you love strawberries,” she went to light the candles.
“Stop,” he grabbed her wrist. “Don’t you dare start singing.”
“Tom please. It’s your birthday, of course I’m going to sing.”
“The cake is enough,” he grumbled.
“You’re acting like you’ve never had cake before…” Hermione stalled at the sight of Tom’s grimace. “You’ve never had cake before?”
“What do you think they do at an orphanage Granger? Of course there’s no cake.”
“Well that changes today.” She cut a deep slice revealing a three layered green cake with pink icing in between.
“Why is it green?” His face contorted in disgust.
“It’s matcha, let me guess you’ve never tried matcha either?”
“What the fuck is a matcha?” He just stared at the plate like it was going to hurt him.
“Just try it Tom, I promise it’s good,” she spooned some of the cake and pushed it towards his mouth.
He reluctantly opened his mouth, he truly lets his witch get away with anything.
