Work Text:

UHURA: Hey, think you can sweet talk your boyfriend into letting Jim take a trip down the hall before Rose and the baby go home? I'd ask him, but I think you might have a little more pull there than I do.

MOLLY: I could definitely do that. I think it would do the both of them some good.

UHURA: I think so, too.

MOLLY: I'll go talk to him now.

MOLLY: You know, if he does well with a visit to Rose, maybe I can talk him into letting Jim go to the Winter Solstisce party for a bit as well.

UHURA: I was hoping you'd say that.

UHURA: Between you and me, Molly, I'm worried about him. Physically, he's getting better, but I think he could use a little time away from this room.

MOLLY: I don't doubt it. I'm sure he's enjoying uninterrupted quality time with you, but when you're recuperating, it's nice to be able to have a change of scenery.

UHURA: It's not just that.

UHURA: Has Dr. McCoy told you much about what was happening to them at home before he met you?

MOLLY: I saw bits and pieces of one of your films. Not by choice; the day Leonard and I met in Breckenridge it was playing in the bar we went to. I know that there's someone in your past who did horrid things who looks like my friend Sherlock. That was the film playing that day.

UHURA: Yes, Khan. Jim nearly died because of him. Technically, he did die, but Dr. McCoy was able to revive him. He ended up in a coma then, too. Between the similarity of waking up from near death and having two people who resemble Khan here in Atlantis...he tries to hide it, but he's not sleeping well.

UHURA: I know we can't do much about the lookalikes aside from remind and reassure him they aren't the same, but I think getting out of here will be good for him, even if it's only for a little while.

MOLLY: Oh, I had no idea. Leonard doesn't really talk about that time all that much, and I can see why now. I'll do everything I can to get him to agree.

MOLLY: And I can also talk to Sherlock. Tact isn't his forte, but perhaps I can try and get him to be understanding if Jim speaks to him and confuses him with this Khan.

UHURA: Thank you, Molly.

UHURA: It all happened a few years ago for Spock and me and I know you and Leonard have been away from home for awhile, but it's much more recent for Jim. He was still having nightmares before the mission.

MOLLY: Oh dear. Perhaps he should be talking to Claire as well, then. I think she could be a big help.

UHURA: I'm hoping to convince him to reach out to her on his own. I suppose I should have suggested it before now.

MOLLY: That might not be a bad idea. If you do it first, perhaps he'll be more amenable.

UHURA: I'll talk to him.
