“Kohane!” An yelled out.
Kohane looked up from where she was sitting on a bench in a park not far from Weekend Garage. An ran over to her, waving, the red and orange leaves floating around her as they got blown off the tree’s by the cool breeze.
“Did I make you wait too long?” An asked, as she got to where Kohane was now standing. “We had another customer come in right as i was about to leave, sorry–”
“It’s fine!” Kohane said, slipping her phone into her jacket pocket. “I just got here a few minutes ago.”
“Oh! Good then.” An said. “Do… um, do you wanna take a walk around the park?” An offered a hand to Kohane, but didn’t look her in the eyes. Kohane could see a faint flush on her cheeks, but couldn’t tell if it was from the cold or not.
“Sure!” Kohane grabbed An’s hand. Her hands were warm, and Kohane wanted to lean close to her as they began to walk, to save herself from the cold air, of course.
An gently swung their arms as they walked through the walls of trees shedding warm coloured leaves. Kohane itched to take out her camera from her bag and snap a quick picture of the moment, but she didn't want to let go of An’s hand.
An suddenly stopped walking, turning to Kohane.
“I almost forgot I wanted to take you somewhere! Come with me, hurry!” an aid, and before Kohane could even answer, she was running off into the trees, pulling Kohane along with her.
“A-An! Slow down!” Kohane yelled as she narrowly avoided tripping over a tree root.
“We're almost there!” An pulled Kohane through a thick and dark part of the forest, and then into a wide open clearing.
The sun steamed in though the leaves in golden rays, hitting the red leaves that created the ground. The trees stood tall, with the few green leaves they had left blowing in the wind. The sky was a cool blue above the trees, with a few fluffy clouds scattered throughout.
“Isn't it pretty?” An smiled, turning towards Kohane. The sun highlighted her golden eyes, bringing out the warmth of her smile even more.
“I know you like to take photos so I thought you might enjoy this place–” An blushed again as she scratched the back of her head.
“I love it.” Kohane grabbed An’s hands. An looked down at her hands, blushing even harder. An must be very cold, Kohane thought.
Kohane finally let go of An’s hands, whipping out her camera.
She took a few steps back, and An tilted her head slightly, before realising Kohane was taking a picture.
“Oh– I’ll move out of the way of your picture!” An moved to take a step to the side.
“No, I want you in it!” Kohane exclaimed.
“Oh.” An said. “Um, what do I do then? Do I pose?”
“Just smile.” Kohane said the next part quieter. “It looks the most beautiful”
An coughed and looked away. “Okay then.” She said, smiling widely at Kohane.
Kohane snapped a picture of the moment, double checking it in her camera as soon as she took it. She smiled at her camera, running over to An to show her how it turned out.
Later that night at home, she added the printed photo to the wall of her favourite photos, right next to the one of her and An at their first show, under the one of An at the wedding photoshoot. She attached it to the wall with a heart shaped sticker, admiring her wall.
An– it looked so beautiful.
