Chapter Text
"Levi!"
"What."
Another day at the firm, huh? I can't believe Erwin's out again, leaving me to this fucking freak.
"Oh, come on, Levi. I know you're a neat freak, but she's so good at doing housework that you don't even have to lift a finger!" she exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and turned to the mountains of to-do's I needed to finish today. She's been constantly talking about a friend in serious need of money.
I usually clean as I go, so my home is spotless. "I don't need a maid. There are like zero things to do in my apartment."
"Oh, can you give me her number? My house needs a serious deep cleaning." He's back. Erwin tossed his phone towards Hanji, and she frantically typed the numbers in freakish excitement. I can't believe Eyebrows needs one, though. I've been to his house countless times already. It's not up to my standards, but it's not filthy.
"Ah! That's great! (y/n)'s going to be so thrilled; I'll be right back."
I can't help but sigh in relief. At least Hanji will shut up for a while, all this yapping about her 'friend'.
Damn, that eyebrows. Why do I have to pick up Erwin's shit on a fucking Sunday? I lethargically walked towards his damned house; the heat is tolerable, but working on a 'day off' isn't; I can't believe I have to do his shit while he's sleeping his ass off all day!
'ding dong'
"I'm coming!" A woman's voice? I don't recall him dating anybody.
"Good Morning. You must be Mr Ackerman, come in."
A girl a bit taller than me stood at the entrance. Her sweet, playful smile rested on her lips. She must be the maid Hanji was talking about.
"Mr Smith is currently not here, si r ; he told me to lead you to his office as soon as you arrive."
"Thanks." Erwin had some nerve leaving me alone. But, his house is pretty clean with the blessing of this 'Maid' of his. The floor is waxed, ceilings are free of cobwebs, and not a speck of dust anywhere!' I sighed as soon as I situated myself on the seat; with this amount of paperwork, He better pay for my overtime. I'll make sure he regrets making me work on a weeken-
"Here you go, sir." The lady who placed a cup of tea beside me interrupted my line of complaints, her smile never-ending.
"Do you Need any help?" she asked with big, bright sparkles in her eyes. Her expression showed anticipation that made you feel that she wanted to help.
"Sure, whatever." Without hesitation, she took a stack of documents into her arms and to the nearest desk she could find and started organizing. This is surprisingly delicious; I can't fathom someone as young as her capable of brewing a decent cup of tea.
"What's your name?" I asked, What? I refuse to call her 'Maid' every time I see her.
"It's (y/n)"
I felt something warm wrapped around me. Did I doze off? Impossible. A blanket was over me when I opened my eyes. It was dark, and the only thing that dimly lit up the office was the floor lamp on the corner. A sandwich was on the desk with a note:
"Eat this when you wake up, okay?"
Well, I am pretty hungry; grabbing a bite before I leave won't hurt. I heard a slight creak coming from out the door.
"You're Awake! Good. Mr Smith phoned me a while ago that he might be a bit later than usual, so he let me leave early. I'm just here to see you off." It was her. Her hair was down her shoulders, and her maid outfit had been switched to a casual dress. I can't help but stare at her appearance.
"I'm going to head out in a bit. Would you want a ride?" I asked. She was a beautiful young woman; no man in his right mind would let her go home alone at this time of night.
(y/n) shook her head. "I don't want to cause you trouble, sir-"
"Levi"
"What-?"
"Just call me Levi." She looked confused by the sudden change.
"Tch, c'mon." I took her hand and pulled her towards the exit. After she locked his house, (y/n) followed me to my car.
"Thank you for driving me home," she smiled, bowing slightly in gratitude before I walked her to her apartment door. It wasn't too far from Erwin's house, but the environment looked so shady that I was right to take her home.
"Mama! Mama!!!" A child's voice rang out from the other side of the door
"Mama!!!" A five-year-old boy appeared with a big grin as he saw (y/n). Is she the mother of this child? She looked so young; I couldn't believe she had a family.
"Levi, meet my son... Lance." I could not believe my eyes; he looked slightly like me.
"Do you want to go in for tea, Levi?" she asked, pulling Lance into her arms.
"Sure."
