Work Text:
Usually, not much would be happening with Shrimpo. However, it seems like he’s been having a few rough nights…
“Shrimpo dear… are you alright?” Teagan asked as she leaned against the doorway.
“Yes mom I’m FINE.” Shrimpo said as he rubbed his eye.
“Mom, have you seen Toodles around? I didn’t see her yesterday.”
“Oh, that’s because she was on a run with your dad! She’s in the bedroom right now if that calms you down.”
“…I guess it does.”
Shrimpo got up from his bed, walked over to the kitchen and checked the clock.
11:23 AM.
“Damn… that late..?”
He then made himself a bowl of cereal, and the moment he sat down Glisten came into the kitchen.
“…”
“…”
“WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!!!” Shrimpo yelled out.
“Surely not a pretty person, if you really wanna ask.” Glisten replied.
“Well then that makes 2.” The shrimp thought to himself.
Glisten strutted over to the fridge.
“Did you use the last of the milk.”
“…”
“Shrimpo.”
“So what if I did?”
“Shrimpo I swear if I check in this fridge and the milk is empty.”
“Yeah whatever. Just go ahead.”
“…”
Glisten stared at Shrimpo, and he stared back.
“I’m telling mom.”
“SO WHAT IF I USED THE LAST OF IT!!!”
“I WAS GONNA MAKE A SMOOTHIE!”
“I-“
Toodles walked in the kitchen, half asleep
T: “Could you guys keep it down a little bit … please?”
G: “Fine. But i’ll be back Shrimpo.”
S: “Tch. WHATEVER.”
Going into Teagan and Rodger’s room, Glisten told her about the argument between him and Shrimpo, and how he used the last of the milk.
“Oh dear… I’ll have to talk to him about that then.” Teagan walked out of the room.
12:43 PM.
Teagan walked over to the doorway of Shrimpo’s room, and leaned on the “door”.
“Shrimpo hon… is there something wrong? I noticed you didn’t sleep well last night…”
“Mom I said I’m fine.”
“Okay then…”
She walked off, accidentally bumping into Glisten.
“OH!— I’m so sorry about that dear let me help you up.”
“Thanks mom. Also, have yo-“
Toodles ran by, nearly turning Glisten into a disco ball.
“Like I said. Have you seen Finn around?”
“Hm… no, but if I see him around I’ll tell you.”
“Alright mom, thanks.”
A couple minutes later, Shrimpo and Toodles were relaxing on the couch, until she got a peek at Shrimpo’s phone.
“Shrimpo?”
“What is it.”
“Who are you teextiiing?”
“WH- NOBODY!!! WHY DO YOU WANNA KNOW!!! ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!”
“No reason… but if it’s someone special I won’t bother youuu!”
“It’s Goob. NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!!!”
“Okaaayyy!”
9:40 PM.
Teagan leaned on Shrimpo’s door.
“Shrimpo, do you think you’ll get any sleep tonight?”
“…Probably.”
“That’s good then, rest well okay dear?”
Teagan kissed him on the forehead.
(IN A MOTHERLY WAY)
NIGHTMARE
(in here, characters are mischaracterized so badly you might click off but trust me its worth it to stay)
“Shrimpo, do you ever hate someone so much to the point you wanna scrub them out of your life?” Tisha said.
“I don’t think you’ll do well this time. You should just give up.” Toodles said.
“No matter how much you try to appear masculine, you won’t will you? It’s pathetic at this point.” Glisten said.
“Shut up. SHUT UP. I KNOW THIS IS FAKE. JUST STOP IT ALREADY.” Shrimpo replied.
No matter what, it wouldn’t stop. They kept insulting him. Laughing. Mocking.
Idiot.
Stupid.
Feminine.
NOT.
MASCULINE.
ENOUGH.
nightmare end
Shrimpo woke up, his cheeks covered in tears.
“Poopy head, are you ok? I heard you scream.”
“ *sniffle* I’m fine. Go away. Leave me alone.”
“Are you sure?”
Toodles walked closer to Shrimpo’s bed, and sat down.
“Mommy said she’ll come in a moment… do you wanna talk about what happened?”
“No. I’m fine.”
Shrimpo covered his face with the blanket.
Out of nowhere, Toodles hugged him.
“I get nightmares too… it’s okay to cry!”
“I- I’m not crying stupid.”
“Your pillow is wet, it’s ok!”
Teagan rushed over, and hugged Shrimpo.
“I know how nightmares feel, you’re safe with us. Don’t worry dear…”
With all this attention, Shrimpo couldn’t help but bawl.
Why were they giving him attention? After all that he’s said? All that he’s done?
“ *sniffle* Why are you guys doing this for me…”
“Shh… it’s okay. You’ll be okay here.”
Rodger rushed into the room, half asleep.
“I heard the scream. I know we haven’t been talking the past few days, but just know that i’ll be here, no matter what you need to say.” Rodger comforted Shrimpo.
“Thank you dad…”
His voice was shaky, sounding like he was holding back tears.
Following Rodger, Goob ran into Shrimpo’s room as well. Ignoring the dirt, he mainly focused on Shrimpo.
“I’M SO SORRY I DIDN’T GET HERE WHEN I HEARD THE SCREAM!”
“It’s alright…”
Goob wrapped his arms around everyone, squeezing them into a tight hug.
Finally calming down, Shrimpo fell asleep.
