Tech and Omega had taken off to the near by planet, just the two of them.
It was time for some sibling bonding and guess fun while doing so?
Tech having promised Omega a ride on the scariest rollercoaster this side of the galaxy after Omega having seen the thing everyone seemed to talk about on the holonet and wanting to try it out. Some of the Pabu kids even telling her they had managed to ride on one too, practically urging her to go for a spin if she had the opportunity.
And so, Tech finding the whole mechanical contraption rather fascinating, from a technical point of view but of course as well, having a fondness for all things going fast. And so guess, being a tad on the scary side as well. Tech then having agreed on taking Omega for a fun day out on a carnival ride!
And here they were.
The carnival in full swing with loud noises of the patrons and machines alike filling the cool air. The laughter and sometimes screams too to be heard. But those were of the good kind of scary, as the kids had assured Omega. As it was all part of the process; to scream loudly when feeling scary good.
“Well, this is it Omega.”
They were looking around, both of them wide eyed with all kinds of stimuli presented there, not really sure where to go first or, not at all? It was kind of a mess to be honest.
“There sure are a lot of machines here.”
“Indeed. Nothing I had anticipated for sure, even after all my research. But, we are here, so…”
Tech having been quite thorough in doing his research. As this was all new to him as well and so wanting to come prepared to this place. Alas, nothing had really prepared him for all the hustle and bustle of the carnival with all the flashing lights, the loud and off beat music, the crowds of people…
It was really so much stimulation there, making Tech’s head spin.
“Well, guess we should try one of them first, you know, to get the hang of things.”
Omega sounded unsure though. Her having been coaxed by the other kids to do this, true. And having felt rather exited to try this all out.
But now that she was here and guess, it as a tad overwhelming for sure for her as well.
“Yes, we should. But which one?”
“I um…” Omega was staring at the various machines, the laughter and screams coming from all directions confusing at best.
“Omega… I know this is… well not what I had expected.” Tech wasn’t sure if he was trying to talk himself or Omega out of this, experiment.
“Yeah, me neither.” Omega’s eyes were darting every which way.
“But, we are here so might as well try some of them out, right?”
Tech felt as nervous as Omega.
As even for a clone with all the battle experience under his belt, not to mention the several races Tech had participated in, well guess they really hand’t prepared him for this… carnival and rollercoaster experience after all.
As this, certainly looked so much scarier than anything he had been on.
Tech felt the shiver of Omega’s after her hand had snaked into his, the Kid scared as well.
Tech knelt down to Omega’s level, their eyes connecting. Tech having learnt it was the best method in assuring a child of, well, most anything while being on their level and making eye contact. Also scary things for Tech. But live and learn!
“Omega, I know this is new and well, scary. I am scared too. But, we did come all this way. And these, are harmless and supposedly fun machines.”
Omega blinked, once, twice, but she was listening to Tech’s assurances.
“So what say you, should we try one together? If it’s not fun, we can leave after. Sound good to you?”
Omega was contemplating for a moment, but then, she too wanted to know what the hubbub was all about.
“Okay.”
“So, have you chosen one?”
“That one.”
Omega pointed at the contraption closest to them, the train having arrived just there finishing the previous run. The people getting out seemingly chipper and happy and most importantly, intact as well with all their limbs and such.
The two ventured to the rollercoaster train, paying for the fair and then taking the seat. Tech and Omega exchanging glances and nodding as if in agreement. Which it was.
As the ride took off, gaining momentum, the others on the ride started laughing and letting out all kinds of noises. Tech and Omega soon getting the hang of it as well. The thrill of the ride getting to them. Consuming them more likely.
Soon enough, they were both laughing and screaming their little hearts out as the train took to the upper tracks, doing all kinds of loops and spins and sudden speed changes.
Tech and Omega were really enjoying the ride, not even having one thought it was scary, simply enjoying the unknown of it all. Giggling, laughing, screaming where appropriate.
And then all too soon, the ride was over.
With their sea legs coming back, they were both still feeling the euphoria of the ride.
“So, which one should we take next, Tech?”
Tech let out a hefty chuckle. Then, he glanced around, checking out for any and all prospects for their next trial.
“That one.”
And so they ventured to the next one and then the next, the two ending up spending a great fearless and fulfilled day at the carnival while testing most of the rides there.
Truly, something to write home about, or in their case, tell the tall tales of their experience at the carnival of the many a rollercoaster rides.
