Chapter Text
Lucy is in her car about to leave the courthouse after her trial prep for Rosalind's trial. Her mind is going a mile a minute and she needs Tim. She gets her phone out to dial his number.
Tim: Hey Luce. How'd the trial prep go?
Lucy: Pretty much how I expected it to go. Are you still at the station or are you already home?
Tim: I just pulled in my driveway.
Lucy: You care if I come by? I could really use a friend right now.
Tim: Yeah. I can tell in your voice that you're not okay.
Lucy: I'm not. I'll see you in a few.
About 15 minutes later Lucy pulls into Tim's driveway. Tim hears her and meets her at the door. Lucy has tears rolling down her cheeks as she's walking up Tim's porch. As soon as she gets at the top of the pouch where Tim is she starts balling.
Tim: Come here.
Tim pulls her in for a hug. Lucy's face is buried into Tim's chest. Tim gets her into the front door and leads her over to the couch.
Tim: I'll get you some water.
Tim brings her a bottle of water and some tissues.
Lucy: I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting to breakdown like that.
Tim: There's nothing to be sorry about Luce. You were having to relive the worst thing that's ever happened to you. So what happened?
Lucy: To start it off, it was Chris that did the prep. Not Sarah, the one that was supposed to. She was out sick.
Tim: Ohh I'm sure that was fun.
Lucy: Yeah. Anyway, we're in his office and everything was fine. He's asking me what he's supposed to and I answer the questions. After a little bit we take a coffee break. He's getting us coffee and he starts singing quietly the song.
Tim: The song we're were singing in the barrel?
Lucy: Yeah. I never even told him that I was singing it. I only told you. I asked where he got that from and he got that from and he said he got it from the video footage from the camera that was in the barrel.
Tim: I'm gonna kill him.
Lucy: No, you don't have to do that. I broke things off with him.
Tim: Wow. Are you okay?
Lucy: Yeah. I don't know what I ever saw in him anyway. We couldn't stand each other when we first met.
Tim: Ohh I remember.
Lucy: Thanks for listening. I'm starting to feel better.
Tim: No problem. I'm glad I'm the one you wanted to came to to talk about this. Come here.
Tim pulls her in for another hug.
Tim: Why don't you sleep here tonight. I don't want you to be by yourself.
Lucy: I don't want to invade your space. I'll be fine.
Tim: Please humor me. I'd feel a whole lot better if you stayed here tonight and we can ride to work together tomorrow.
Lucy: Alright, fine. I'll stay. But only if we can order some takeout because I'm starving.
Tim: Deal. I'm hungry too. Chinese?
Lucy: Sounds perfect. You care if I use your shower? I need to get today off of me.
Tim: No, go ahead. I'll order the food and it should be here by the time you get out.
Lucy: Thanks. I'm going to run out to my car and grab my go bag and call Tamara and let her know I won’t be home so she doesn’t worry.
Tim: If you don't have anything to sleep in you can borrow a pair of my sweats and a shirt.
Lucy: I've got a pair of leggings, so I just need a shirt.
Lucy showers while Tim orders dinner. About 25 minutes later Lucy walks into the kitchen as Tim is getting the food.
Tim: Just in time. You feel better?
Lucy: Much. Thanks. Food smells great.
Tim: Want a beer?
Lucy: Yes, please.
They sit back on the couch and eat their dinner while watching some T.V.
Lucy: Dinner was great. I'm starting to get sleepy.
Tim: Me too. I'll get the couch set up for me and you can have my bed.
Lucy: I am not taking your bed. I'll take the couch.
Tim: No it's fine. It's not the most comfortable thing to sleep on and you could use the sleep after the day you've had.
Lucy: So you'd rather sleep on an uncomfortable couch?
Tim: Well, I was going to suggest this but didn't know if you'd be comfortable with it or not. Why don't you sleep in the bed with me. Unless you think it might be weird.
Lucy: I'm fine with that.
Tim and Lucy get into bed and Kojo jumps in the middle of them.
Lucy: Hey buddy.
Kojo lays his head on Lucy's stomach and she scratches his ears.
Lucy: How was work today.
Tim: It was good. I hated riding by myself though, knowing what you were going through.
Lucy: Well, I made it through and you were here for me when I needed you the most. Thank you again.
Tim: No problem.
