The sound of the front door unlocking echoed through the cozy apartment, followed by the soft rustle of keys being placed on the entry table. Sanghyeok let out a small sigh as he kicked off his shoes, the warmth of the apartment welcoming him after a long day at T1 headquarters. His round glasses had slipped slightly down his nose and he absentmindedly pushed them back up as he set down his bag.
“Jihoonie, I’m home,” he called softly, his voice carrying the subtle tiredness of the day.
He barely had time to register the sound of footsteps before Jihoon appeared from the living room, a wide grin spreading across his face. “Hyeokie hyung!” Jihoon greeted enthusiastically, his taller frame quickly closing the distance between them.
Before Sanghyeok could react, Jihoon’s strong arms were around him, pulling him into a warm embrace. Sanghyeok let out a soft laugh, burying his face against Jihoon’s chest. He felt the tension of the day melting away as Jihoon held him.
“You worked hard today,” Jihoon murmured, his voice low and comforting.
Sanghyeok tilted his head up to look at him, his cheeks tinged pink. “It wasn’t that bad. I missed you, though.”
Jihoon’s grin widened. “I missed you too, baby.”
Before Sanghyeok could protest or prepare himself, Jihoon’s arms shifted, one sliding under his legs and the other bracing his back. With practiced ease, Jihoon swept him off his feet.
“Jihoonie!” Sanghyeok squealed, his hands instinctively clutching at Jihoon’s shoulders. His voice was high and filled with playful panic as he felt himself being carried toward the couch.
“You’ve been working too hard,” Jihoon teased, gently laying him down onto the plush cushions. “You deserve to be pampered, sweetheart.”
Sanghyeok huffed, his glasses slightly askew now from the commotion. His pout, however, was betrayed by the smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Jihoon leaned down, his forehead resting against Sanghyeok’s.
“Let me take care of you,” Jihoon whispered.
Sanghyeok’s cheeks flushed a deeper shade of pink, and he gave a small nod. Jihoon smiled, pressing a tender kiss to his temple before settling down beside him. He pulled Sanghyeok close, wrapping him in a warm embrace as they lay together on the couch.
“You’re ridiculous sometimes,” Sanghyeok mumbled, though he snuggled closer, his soft demeanor fully on display.
Jihoon chuckled, brushing a stray strand of hair from Sanghyeok’s face. “And you love it.”
“I do,” Sanghyeok admitted, his voice barely above a whisper as he closed his eyes, feeling completely at peace in Jihoon’s arms.
After their cozy moment on the couch, Jihoon carried Sanghyeok to their bedroom, much to the latter’s protest.
“I can walk, you know!” Sanghyeok pouted, though he didn’t try to wiggle out of Jihoon’s arms.
“Why would I let you walk when I can do this?” Jihoon teased, nudging the bedroom door open with his foot.
Once they were settled on the bed, Sanghyeok perked up, suddenly remembering his idea. “Let’s watch a horror movie,” he suggested, eyes sparkling with interest behind his round glasses.
Jihoon raised an eyebrow. “You, the Sanghyeokie hyung who hides his face in my chest during thunderstorms, want to watch a horror movie?”
Sanghyeok gave him a mock glare, poking his chest. “I’m serious! It’s been a while since we did something exciting.”
Jihoon chuckled, grabbing the remote. “Alright, sweetheart. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
As the movie began, Sanghyeok was sitting cross-legged with a blanket draped over his lap. The eerie music started, and his calm, reserved demeanor quickly started to crack. By the first jump scare, he let out a small yelp, scooting closer to Jihoon.
“You okay, baby?” Jihoon asked, suppressing a grin.
“I’m fine,” Sanghyeok insisted, though his hands were already clutching Jihoon’s arm.
Another scare came, and this time Sanghyeok gasped, immediately burying his face into Jihoon’s shoulder. Jihoon couldn’t help but laugh softly, his heart melting at how cute Sanghyeok looked trying to be brave.
By the midpoint of the movie, Sanghyeok had completely given up, curling up against Jihoon with the blanket pulled tightly around him. His muffled voice came from Jihoon’s chest. “I hate this. Turn it off.”
Jihoon glanced down at him, his expression soft with affection. “I told you,” he said, his voice warm.
Sanghyeok peeked up, his pout making Jihoon laugh. “You’re mean,” Sanghyeok muttered.
With a click of the remote, Jihoon turned off the TV. He gently shifted them so they were lying down, pulling Sanghyeok into his arms and tucking the blanket around them. “No more scary stuff, okay? Just this,” Jihoon said, his voice soothing.
Sanghyeok relaxed instantly, his head resting against Jihoon’s chest, the sound of his steady heartbeat lulling him into calm. “You’re too good to me,” he mumbled, his voice tinged with drowsiness.
Jihoon pressed a kiss to Sanghyeok’s forehead, smiling. “Always, baby. Always.”
And with that, they lay there in the quiet of their shared bedroom, the night filled with nothing but warmth and love.
