Work Text:
All in the lab was fine. The sounds of machinery at work. Bags of flour neatly littered the floor. Vials of melted butter kept warm over small bunsen burners boiled and toiled away. All the while a dragon and their favorite scientist worked away at a bowl.
Meanwhile an assistant stood by. Eyes wide, unblinking. Like a statue who's gaze was frozen in time. Gripping their knife in hand. Looking back at the cooked dough they were working on cutting through. It should have been them working with raw dough. It should have been them with a dragon lathering them in attention. They were angry. Jealous of their boss. Their oh so 'nice' boss that stole their job! He was kidnapped, he was still new! They've been here, working away for longer than that!!
They do not care for the dragon trying to loom over Butter Roll. Who was pushed away gently. Who only listened to their stupid bosses words and ignored everyone else's because they were above them. Starting to walk faster. Raising their hands. Swinging for their boss until their knife hit dough. Sinking it in until it came out the other side.
Longan hissed as the blade sunk into their stomach. Staring the traitor down with hatred. They dared attempt to attack their own boss? They dared attack their lenient boss. Their favorite cookie? The only cookie they'd spare for being insolent. For telling them what to do. They kept staring at the cookie for the time being. Their tail flicking underneath their robes.
They ignored ButterRolls silence. Paying attention to the stammering cookie instead. Tempted to turn them to stone.. yet.. why did their stomach start to hurt so much.. they paused as they looked down to eye the knife in their stomach. Their jaw nearly dropping.. they knew they could get hurt.. but by other dragons.. not.. not by a simple cookie.
They hesitantly grab the blade. Their expression dropping. Ignoring ButterRolls sudden vitriol towards the cookie to continue staring at the blade. Unsure if they should pull it out or not. Gasping just the slightest bit when Butter Roll does it for them. Hearing them shout orders for their assistants to grab the traitor or help him patch up the dragon.
