Work Text:
Another hopeless night, ido sighed. A certain man consumed his thoughts. He checked the time.
3:45pm, perfect. Ido knows exactly where he'd be.
He showed up at an office, one he hasn't entered before, he prefers to appear at his house instead. But it's 4:30 now, he'd get off work soon.
Ido climbed through a window, seemingly preferring it over a door. He approached the man who was slouched over papers, tapping his shoulder while getting close to his ear.
Magnus jumped as he looked over to Ido, he only smiled before speaking.
“Whatcha’ workin on?” His words were soft, as if he didn't want to disturb something.
Magnus looked back over to his papers, seemingly off in his own mind, at least for a second.
“Ah, it's nothing interesting.”
“Would you like some company?”
“Hm?” He seemed puzzled, even if he wasn't expecting ido to leave.
“Can I…” ido sat on the arm of Magnus's chair, leaning towards him and resting a hand on his desk. “Stay with you? I might even be able to help with some of your work!”
Magnus stared at him, blinking a couple times before looking away.
“No, I mean, I don't think you can help. …Aren't you illiterate?”
Ido rolled his eyes and scoffed.
“I can still.. try!”
“Yeah… okay.. you can stay, if you'd like.”
Ido smiled brightly at Magnus and rested his head against his. Magnus was taken aback, not that he was adverse to ido's attention.
Ever since Ido has entered his office, it's been small reminders. Of someone he loves more.
Ido moves his head back and looks at Magnus with an unreadable expression. He didn't say anything except rest a hand on the side of Magnus's face, his hand trailing down from his neck, shoulder, then arm.
Magnus felt drawn to the other man's touch, but he could have sworn he saw green.
“Is something wrong?” Ido said in a gentle voice he seemed to reserve only for Magnus.
“I'm fine, why?”
“You seem… off, well more than you usually are, more in your mind.” When Ido spoke, his gaze was directed down, only signified by the tilt of his head, then looked back up at Magnus with an almost concerned or worried expression.
“Nothing is.. more different than usual.”
“Hm.” Ido reached up to touch Magnus again, but put his hand down and instead moved so they were side to side and leaned against him. “Are you going to continue your work? Your shift or whatever is almost over.”
“Oh. Yeah.” And Magnus got back to work.
They stayed in silence for a while, ido stealing glances at Magnus before getting lost in his own thoughts.
Magnus not thinking about the man against him, and instead of a man he missed. He wasn't used to him being gone, even with the time passed. He missed their moments together. ido reminded Magnus of him in some aspects, there's always the option of pretending he's him, but that's a mean thing to do.
Magnus was brought back to the present as he felt a cold hand going through his hair. But he chose to ignore it, after all, he has to work.
