Work Header

My little Green Witch! Sage? Magical boy?

Summary:

He was desperate, sue him! Izuku didn't know that the nice nurse who asked him if he wanted a quirk was an Umbran Witch! Wait- Aren't they supposed to be women only? Why is she asking him?

(In other words, I wanted Izuku to be like Bayonetta, but I couldn't find anything on this, so I have to do this, wish me luck!)

Notes:

I'm not very good at continuity, so bear with me as I try to make this as easy to digest as I can. Lore is also not my strong suit, so I'll probably make up 99.9% of this... Muck to make it a work, I'm sorry in advance!

Text the look like this are thoughts, text that looks like this is Latin, any other changes I use to distinguish dialogue will always be up in the notes! :D

Chapter Text

Izuku sighed as he stared at his hands for the umpteenth time today. School sucked again. Baku- Kacchan was being himself as usual. And Poor Izuku was left in the dust again. He wished his quirk would come already. He'd rather be anywhere but in this doctor's office with his mother. Well, he'd rather be watching All Might and analyze him, but his mom said they'd have to do this. Looking around the office, he notices how the nurse keeps staring at him with something in her eyes as she does her work.

'She looks like she doesn't want to be here...' Izuku thought, playing with his fingers. By the time the doctor, Izuku's nicknamed him Egghead due to how he resembles that pre-quirk show's villain Dr. Egghead, comes in to deliver bad news. Well, bad news to this day and age. After leaving, Izuku wonders what he'll do now. He's quirkless! His mother had walked out of the room to process this information, so he's all alone with the same nurse from before!

"You don't have to be, you know." The nurse hummed, letting Izuku hop off the examination table to wipe it down. "Huh?" Izuku sniffled, fighting the tears in his eyes. "You don't have to be quirkless. I can help." She hummed handing him one of the regulated treats. Izuku took it, nodding. "I know you have your doubts... But some quirks can't just grow in. I know you'll be a great apprentice." she rambled.

Izuku, too caught up in grief, immediately agreed. The nurse smiled under her mask and nodded. She took the pen from her scrubs and held out her hand. "Do not tell your mother or anyone about this. What I'm doing is considered a sin from where I come from. Hand please." she said, holding Izuku's hand. She drew a small sigil into the skin of his palm and whispered something. "Now, when midnight hits tonight, you will feel a bit of pain. keep it quiet. Once you are free, I will meet you at Dagobah Beach to begin your training as an apprentice." She smiled, hugging the boy.

Soon Izuku was back at home, staring at his hand. The drawing had vanished the minute he left the doctor. What did that nurse mean to keep quiet about the pain? How much will there be? And isn't Dagobah Beach a dump now? The boy was concerned. He didn't even respond to his mother for the most part. (Sorry Inko! I love you! But in this you're kind of a background blanket!) That night, a dull ache was present when Izuku began to fall asleep. By Midnight, the dull pain evolved to a searing pain, as if he was being torn apart.

He wasn't, but by god, did he feel like it was happening. "Keep quiet, keep it quiet..." Izuku whispered, whimpering at the pain. 'This better be worth it!' Izuku thought to himself. He had to stay quiet. He needed to pass this test! He had to be a hero! It's been his dream for heaven's sake! This lasted for 2 hours until Izuku couldn't feel anything. So back to sleep, he went! Ignoring the feeling that something just began to notice him.

The next day, Izuku went to school, got glares (the first of many), and began his trek to Dagobah beach. Sure enough, the beach was in view and his new mentor along with it. The woman smiled when she noticed his small form rushing to greet her. "Why, hello there, apprentice! You ready to begin your training?" She asked, earning a determined nod from the child.

*A certain amount of years later*

"You're growing stronger, kid... Have you perfected you demon contract yet?" His mentor asked. "I think so... I mean, no matter how you look at it I'm doomed to go downstairs..." Izuku sighed, his now 15-year-old body run ragged from the constant in and out of Purgatorio he's been doing. "We don't know that, yet. You are a mix of both worlds, child." She hummed. "I'm not... You know that. I'm a careless replacement should something happen." Izuku replied, drawing out the ritual needed to begin the summoning. "Things have changed since your debut, child. We're no longer set to up or down." She hummed. Izuku rolled his eyes with a slight smile before calling upon the demons of Inferno to accept his pact.

Nothing at first, shocking both. "Huh... Usually they're jumping for a taste of your soul... You sure you-" His mentor began until a blinding green light emitted from the portal and out came a large hand. Perfectly manicured too! Then another similar hand, then a head- "You called, young one?" the demon asked. "uh- I- I'd like to make a contract with you, madam..." Izuku stuttered, switching to ancient Latin to converse with this demoness. The demon looked at him with a small smile before looking at his mentor. "He's a cute one, Umbra... Where did you find him?" The demoness asked. "Nowhere you haven't roamed, your royalness. How are the Madamas?" Umbra asked. "Umbra?" Izuku whispered to his mentor. "When you bond to a demon, you get a new field name." Umbra hummed.

"I accept your contract, small one. However, I see you want to save mortals... You do know the consequence for that, no?" The demoness asked. Izuku nodded and she nodded as well. Placing a hand on where her heart should be, she began to speak softer. "I, Madama Noctuae, accept the demon contract for this soul."

Umbra clapped when the rune for Noctuae's bond appeared on Izuku's back for a brief second before engraining itself into his skin. Izuku looked at her for guidance. "You've trained all you can with me. Now it is up to you to go forth. You have... 3 months to get used to having her royalness with you. Then, it's off to the hero exam! I have faith you will pave the way for our kind to be out in the open once again." She smiled, bidding her farewells to both Izuku and Noctuae.

She began to walk away before she turned around and tossed a rolled up paper at Izuku to catch. He did so effortlessly and opened it, paling. "You're an international hero!?" He looked at her with wide eyes. "If you ever need anything, just yell and I'll come to you. Now, I'm off to my next assignment. Thank you for being my student." She smiled. "Oh! Um... Ok! Wait! Can you sign something of mine? Just in case?" Izuku asked. She smiled and walked closer to him with a nod.

"Can't wait to see my apprentice take the world by storm with the Lady of Bats by his side. My, where has the world gone?" She sighed, signing the gifted pistols she had given him for his first ever time entering Purgatorio. "Not sure, miss... But it will be hard, not to run to you at the hospital and tell you all about my day." Izuku laughed. Umbra looked at her mentee with parental love. His mother had never noticed anything off about her son. She just assumed he inherited her quirk but as a stronger variant. Oh, how wrong she was.

"Now, you keep up the trainings I've given you, remember to channel her royalness's power throughout your body. You and her are one now. Oh! And you might want to update any medical documents you can think of. All your allergies are gone, your blood type has changed, and most importantly, your life span has shot up drastically." She added.

"Huh? Wait, what do you mean?" Izuku asked. "You know how normal humans live to their 90's on average?" Umbra began. "Yes?" Izuku questioned. "Well... You'll live up to 39 times that amount and not look a day over 22." She beamed. "HOW OLD ARE YOU!?" Izuku yelled, making the woman bark out a laugh. "A proper lady never tells a man her age." She hummed.

"Now, You keep reading those rune and alchemy books I gave you, and if you need any more assistance, you have the portal for the Gates Of Hell setup in your room. Oh! And if Rodin asks if you want anything to drink, get a virgin rosebud. Those are awesome... Just have halos on hand." SHe reminds the boy while he walked home from Dagobah beach. It was more pristine now that they had inhabited it for trainings. The first thing Izuku was tasked to do was strength building. So off to cleaning the beach he went. Until He was sure he could easily pick up a refrigerator with one hand, then his training moved on.

Not that his form shows that he could easily do such a thing, but he can. Now all he needs to do is get used to such a powerful demoness and how her power will help him.
