Chapter 1: Amy

Chapter Text

Amy had been acting weird, and the whole family noticed. She seemed to be more nervous and fidgety. They thought maybe she had gotten into an argument or was hiding something, so they left her behind and let her reveal what was happening.

Jake noticed his little sis (even if it was only 11 months) looking terrified and nervous, biting her
nails, which she outgrew after she got her powers.

He sat beside her and nudged her to make her stop, and she flinched at him. After she realized it was him, she relaxed.

“You ok?” Jake asked his sister.

“No,” Amy leaned back on the couch, not straight up like she usually sat. He took her hand in his, rubbing some warmth into them, noticing how cold they were. His sister always ran colds.

“I need a family meeting. Just maddens.” Amy looked at him nervously.

“Okay, I’ll grab everyone. You sit tight, okay?” Jake kissed her head gently and got up as she sat there nervously.

Everyone was sitting there, and Jake and Eva sat on either side of Amy, holding her hands to keep her from hitting her thighs, biting her nails, or fidgeting too much.

“What’s going on kiddo?” Vic was nervous. His only daughter seemed scared and nervous about something.

“I….i…..I’m sorry I didn’t tell you all before. I had to tell myself first. I really wanted to tell you.” Amy tried to pull out their grips, but the mother and son held close.

“Amy, calm down. Tell us what’s going on.” Eva’s accent spiked, and she soothed her daughter gently, pushing the tiny braid behind her ear.

“You can tell us anything, Amy; you know that. Us Maddens stick together.” Colby gave his big sister a big smile, and she nodded.

“Okay, I can do this, Amy. Come on. You are a badass villain. You are havoc. You can do this.” Amy sounded more nervous than ever before.

“You don’t have to be Havoc, Amy. You just need to be Amy. Amelia Lindsey Madden. Our sister. Their daughter.” Jake rubbed her knuckles on her bruises, wondering where those came from, and slowly calmed her down.

Amy nodded and took another deep breath…..” here goes nothing.”

The family waited for this moment, wondering what was getting Amy so worked up.

“I’m gay. I’m a lesbian. I like girls. I love Hartley. She’s my best friend, and I love her.” Amy broke down immediately after that into Eva’s chest, and everyone smiled at the sight of Amy finally saying it.

“Oh, sweetheart. We knew. I promise you we knew. We just wanted you to tell us when you are ready. We were so worried about you.” Eva rubbed her middle child’s back and soothed her briefly as Amy listened to her heartbeat. She kept it steady and smiled as Amy listened to it as her sobs died down.

Vic mouthed, “You owe me money.” To the wife.

Eva smirked and planned to grab their notebook, which had their bets.

Amy had finally done it with the full support of her family.

Chapter 2: Hartley

Summary:

Hartley's turn!

Chapter Text

Celia noticed her granddaughter seemed more to herself and wasn’t off galavanting with her new friend. Even though the Maddens had been here for over a year, Celia still didn’t fully trust them with her child.

She watched as Hartley paced in their living room. She had asked if they could talk, and she told her she only had time between a certain time and a certain time before her date with Robert.

Hartley, wearing black overalls and a blue and purple shirt, finally stopped and looked at her grandmother.

“You love me, right?” Hartley asked

“Of course I do. I have loved you since you came to be with me at five years old, Hartley Morgan (blank). I will always love you. Now, what’s going on, sweetheart?”

“I’m bisexual. I like girls. I also like guys, but mainly girls, especially Amy. I like her. Like-like her, I love Amy. She’s my best friend, and I love her.” Hartley froze and looked at her grandmother, who just smiled softly.

“I am so glad you felt okay telling me that. I knew you liked her, and I think she likes you back. You two need to tell each other that you like each other.”

Hartley hugged her grandmother and ran up to her room to plan on how to tell her crush she loved her.

Chapter 3: Together

Summary:

The duo finally talk!

Chapter Text

The duo planned it out, and after leaving their homes, they ran into each other.

“Oof,” Amy groaned as she landed on the group with Hartley on top of her. She immediately blushed, feeling her best friend’s face on her chest.

“Amy!” Hartley shot up but held Amy down gently.

“Hartley,” Amy smiled at her crush and blushed at how Hartley held onto her.

“Amy, I need to tell you something.”

“I also need to tell you something, but can we please get up? This isn’t the best position for talking, especially about what I want to talk to you about.” Amy emphasized a few sections, and Hartley soon stood up, helping Amy up as she did.

They held hands as they headed over to the porch swing, sitting together in their usual spots.

Hartley took a deep breath. “Amy, do you mind if I go first?”

“Not at all, Hartley. Go ahead.” Amy smiled softly at her best friend.

Hartley smiled, thanking her with her smile.

“Thanks, Ames”

Harley took a deep breath before saying, “I’m bisexual. I recently figured it out but also came to terms with something else. I love you, Amy—more than just you being my best friend. I love Amy. I love you so much. Please know I don’t want to ruin our friendship with this. I will always love you even if you don’t reciprocate it.” Hartley looked at her best friend and was shocked to see tears in her eyes and a knowing smile also full of love in her eyes.

“I wanted to tell you the same thing, except I’m a lesbian. I love you so much, Hartley. I was so worried about how you would react to it.” Amy pulled Hartley into a hug, but then Hartley pulled Amy into a deep kiss.

They kissed for a few seconds, and when they broke, both were red and smiling.

“Hell of a first kiss, Hartley.”

“Wait, was that your first kiss?”

“Yep. Damm, I’m glad you gave me my first kiss.” Amy giggled and kissed Hartley again.

Immediately after kissing, they cuddled up on the swing, Hartley laying on Amy’s chest.

“So does this make us girlfriends?” She asked quietly, playing with Amy’s fingers draped on her stomach.

“If you want it to be, I'm game with that. I love you, Hartley, so much.” Amy looked down at her, smiling widely

“I love you too, Amelia Madden. My wonderful girlfriend.” Hartley knew that saying her “real name” would get a rise out of Amy but still said it carefully.

“I could get used to that sound, but no one calls me Amelia.” Amy loved the sound of Hartley saying her name but wouldn’t let her use Amelia. She regrets the day Hartley learned her new name was Amelia, not just Amy.

“Deal.” Hartley leaned up, and Amy kissed her gently.

They had found love

Notes:

I head canon Amy and Jake are very close in age but not twins. Jake is older by 11 months but is a grade ahead of her.
