“You can always do like the rest of us and walk.”
Huffing, she crossed her arms. “No, thank you. Winter’s the worst. I hate it!”
“No, you don’t.” His lips crooked up. “Remember all the food Xiangling’ll make? ...At the festival?”
Her face was blank.
“…Lantern Rite?”
Her eyes sparkled like her cape’s constellations. “Oh! Winter’s great!”
“See.”
“Yeah, yeah. …Wow, we’ve been together a while.”
