Chapter Text
A new opportunity...
The galaxy suffered many adversities over the years and years in wars and conflicts that came to seem endless, despite the damage caused by all these battles, the Force takes drastic measures in this regard, it is well mentioned that their will is always for a greater purpose and would always aim that all beings outside it live in harmony and balance. Neither side is bad or good, both complement each other, they are one, darkness and light, day and night, so different and yet they need each other.
Perhaps they will never be able to live in full harmony with the Force, but as a last act of kindness towards this endless conflict, the Force grants them the possibility of avoiding so many deaths and tragedies, starting with the one who was consumed by the dark side and in his anger started an authoritarian regime that brought with it several more conflicts. At the end of his life he achieved his redemption, an act valued by the Force, however, it does not detract from the fact that the war resurfaced with the First Order, led by one of Skywalker's descendants, repeating the same story as if it were a vicious circle. Those who, in their efforts to achieve momentary peace for the galaxy, will be the ones who will return at the exact moment when history takes the course of falling into darkness, accomplish their mission and be rewarded, save the galaxy one last time because there will be no more chances.
Leia! Leia, wake up," Luke shouted to his sister lying on that transparent floor in the middle of what seemed like the infinity of space, but at the same time the emptiness of nothingness. Little by little her eyes opened and she focused her gaze fully on her brother, feeling a great joy at finding him there.
Luke? - Leia, now more awake, took enough strength to sit up with her brother, who let her hold her when he saw that she was feeling better - What happened? You are younger?" She looked at her brother's appearance in disbelief, and rightly so, the last time she saw him he was much older and tired, but now he seemed to be full of hope and with the joy of youth.
Just like you, Leia," her brother pointed out, to which she looked at her hands and touched her face, surprised that there was not a single wrinkle on it, her hands were smooth, a sign that she was physically back to the age she was at the Battle of Yavin, 19 years old. Unfamiliar with the place where she was, she turned to Luke with a face that pointed, she had endless questions.
Luke, what is this place? Why are we here? As I recall I..." He stopped dead in his tracks, remembering how in a last attempt to connect with his son, Ben Solo, he used all the strength he had left to reach him and then just closed his eyes with the possibility of resting in peace "Ben, him and Rey... I left them alone at the most important moment of this war, I left the rebellion defenseless, I should have...
Leia, don't worry, I'm sure it's been resolved. I know you have many questions and I'm sorry I can't answer them all. Leia, I just know that the fact that we are here, means that we are not done yet, surely it is the will of the Force," he explained to his sister in a gentle voice and in a calm manner. It was more than obvious that Luke was really excited to start a new adventure, going back to his best years. As for Leia, she seemed a little frustrated at not getting an explanation, but that didn't stop her from following Luke and together finding the answers to her questions.
Where are we going Luke? - They were both walking through those big corridors at the edge of nowhere, or at least that's how Leia saw it- When I got here, I heard in small whispers that I will wait patiently for your arrival and then walk until we get to the end of this corridor- Leia seemed not very convinced with his explanation, but she followed her brother's steps- Well, and then what? Leia asked with some hostility- I really don't know- Luke's answer didn't convince her at all, she knew the mysteries that the force unraveled, but bringing the two of them there with thousands of questions in the air and few instructions wasn't exactly accurate. It didn't make sense. The idea of why they were in that place was going around in Leia's head, she decided to ignore all these possibilities for the moment, maybe just thinking about enjoying what it was like to have youth and energy again would serve as solace for her in the face of so many unresolved questions.
Luke, you know what this place is, don't you?" He had a feeling that some of the knowledge acquired from his brother Luke, after years of exile in Ahch-To would be of some use to know at least where they were, "They call it "World Between Worlds" it's where all the moments of time are connected together, through all these portals and pathways. Ahsoka once told me- The end of that path was coming into view, a large portal was visible in the distance and right in front of it was someone Luke had long respected and cherished, but the other presence was someone they didn't recognize at first glance, since he was a younger version of how they knew him. Luke, noticing who both teachers were, sensing their mark on the force, ran towards them, followed by Leia.
Master Yoda! Ben!" A few feet away, Luke came quickly towards them, catching their attention, smiling at the boy in front of them, "It's good to see you both again!
The joy on the part of both teachers was undeniable and Luke's happiness forged a great atmosphere around them, Leia seemed a little more cautious, no doubt she did not immediately recognise both teachers- Leia, it is a pleasure to see you again- He addressed her with great enthusiasm and respect.
You are...Obi-Wan Kenobi, good to see you," Leia smiled, "And a few years younger, aren't you Ben?" Luke joked as he saw that his former master also had no wrinkles and less age than when he knew him, to which Obi-Wan only responded with a little ego in his eyes, after all, who wouldn't appreciate youth, instead of the ailments of old age? No doubt a blessing from the world between worlds, young Luke.
A special mission, a special mission Master Yoda? Luke focused his gaze on his old master and Leia simply looked with surprise at the little green old man, Luke had told her about his adventure in Dagobah with the old master Yoda, but he had never met him, but according to Luke, he was the wisest and apparently had the answers to his questions.
Yoda looked at them with longing and concern, while they were surely confused to hear the master say that he had a last chance - Leia finally had the answer she was looking for, now she only needed the context, she thought, the last chance, I thought it would have ended well, could it be that Rey did not manage to win the battle? The doubts were many and her heart felt a great remorse and guilt for not having been able to help earlier.
It speaks to the reason you are here, the Force has seen the suffering that the struggle between the dark side and the light side has caused for lack of balance, that is why it has brought you here. You are one of the few who have managed to end these wars for small periods of time, however, there has always been someone who wants to corrupt the will of the Force, the balance, that is why he wants to nip the problem in the bud." Attentive to Obi-Wan's explanation, both twins reflected and drew their own conclusions. For as long as she could remember, Leia remembered being involved in political affairs so that someday the galaxy would have the peace it so longed for, that was her goal, that was why the idea proposed by the Force seemed so tempting.
Go to another time must, yes, together support and support. Make Skywalker come to his senses, to be corrupted by the dark side of the force, avoid- Yoda finished saying with conviction, leaving both brothers perplexed- Prevent him from falling to the dark side? Father was redeemed, he saved me, is not that supposed to have already brought balance to the force, Master Yoda.
Momentary balance came with his redemption, but the damage done, never fully repaired was- The answer made it clear to Luke that there was still a great gap in the true balance the force sought, and though his father brought it about with his sacrifice, something that brought some forgiveness on his part, the thousands of lives that were lost in that great period of time, including the Jedi genocide he himself commanded at the execution of Order 66, were never reckoned with.
I understand, in short, we must change the past and prevent the events I lived through from happening!Leia concluded with a certain seriousness and annoyance, because she knew perfectly well that if she changed one small event of the past, she would completely change everything she knew, her family, her son, even if there were not so pleasant events throughout her life, she really was happy and surely she would not regret it, nor would she throw it away by changing one of the events that practically forged her destiny, but at the same time she fought with the idea of seeing a better future, one in which Alderaan would continue to exist, together with her parents, both parents, both families, together with what was once her village - What guarantee do they give us?What comfort do I have that my SON will not be a forgotten memory of the Force?
You will be rewarded, I don't know in what way, but the force will give you what you deserve for your good deeds, and as a guarantee of your son's existence, his companion from the Dada will be sent along with you," Obi-Wan ended by saying before the attack of fury from Leia, surprising both twins.
Wait, so the King will come with us," Luke knew very well that his former apprentice would be flattered by the fact of going to the past with them, especially if he could be of help, he had no objection to it, but he was curious how she would react to it, "Accompany them, young Palpatine will have to make sure of his existence as well," Yoda confirmed.
If so, I see no reason why we shouldn't try" - Already more determined, Leia supports the mission that the force has entrusted to her - "As do I, the future deserves better than living in endless war, we will seek balance in the force" - Both twins, with no doubt in their eyes, had made their decision.
Yoda brings his clenched fist to the young men, opening it to find a glowing green crystal shining brightly, "Is that...?
The Crystal of Eternity! Luke, do you remember? We thought it was just a myth used by Vader to lead us into a trap." Luke was shocked and Leia couldn't take her eyes off the crystal that for a long time, she thought, didn't exist, One last mission we have, to go with the young King we must Obi-Wan." Yoda stepped through the portal subtly and Obi-Wan followed him, towards his final destination.
19 APR. Three years after Attack of the Clones
Two young men lay sprawled at the expense of the desert, with no civilisations on the horizon and a heat that impacted their skin and was suffocating. Both felt the two suns radiate on them woke up at the same time, they had no reason to seek an answer to their whereabouts, both knew well where they were, Tatooine, the sandiest place in the galaxy fas, why precisely there, they did not know, maybe because it was the place of origin of his father, or because the force simply wanted to complicate their existence, in any case they had to find a way out and get to Coruscant, where his father, Anakin Skywalker lived. They would have to save him, however they forgot to ask a small detail, where were they supposed to see Rey, would they have to wait for her on that planet?
