Chapter 1: The wendigo's fawn sinking footsteps
Summary:
Your first day at school, your such a mom's girl. (jk/ love your mom, you only have one.) you meet new people and make a new group of friends.
Notes:
I am not the best at writing stories, but stick with me, okay? Also, if you would like to get an image of what [Y/N] looks like, basicly similar to Miss Thavel, with Wendigo form and all, black claws like arms, clothes, and such can be decided yourself.
Chapter Text
[Y/N] woke up from the sun shinning into her eyes and was stung, like terribly bad. You were not a morning person and probably never would be; you quickly used your arm to cover your eyes while the sun taunted you. As you get up from your bed, you stretch slightly before letting out a soft sigh.
'Great, a new day, a fresh start. Mom recently enrolled me in Paper School, as I believe the place was called. Why did they put the name School in school? that's just Paper School school?' You shrug off the thought; you would probably give yourself a headache trying to find an answer.
She then makes her way over to her closet, scratching her hand through her hair while doing so. She pulls open the closet and looks inside it. Nothing much, just formal clothes, mostly school uniforms. Your mom said you didn't have to wear them, but you wanted to wear them; it made you feel organized and in control.
You let out a sigh and just picked some random clothes, mostly onces you would wear on the weekend. Soon you were ready and left your bedroom. Your mom was in the hallway already on her way to wake you up. She smiled at you with a big, sharp, teeth-filled smile, but a comforting smile for you none the less.
Miss Thavel: "Ah, I see my little deer is up. Good, come on, I made your breakfast." (get it, deer, because wendigo's hehehe... ill.. ill go... 'insert walk of shame.')
"Okay, thanks, mom, your the best."
You responded happily while following her down the hall to the living room and into the dining area. Probably one of the things mom was the strictest about were table manners, beside's language, of course, and getting good grades; grades were lucky never a problem as you always got straight A's.
When you sat down at the table, mom put the plate of food in front of you while sitting down opposite to you and eating her own breakfast with a cup of coffee as well.
Time skip; I ain't writing an entire breakfast scene because I suck.
Miss Thavel: "So, my little deer, how does it feel to go to a new school? the school I work at, to be exact?"
She looked at you through the rear view mirror while you weren't paying much attention and just scrolling through your phone, until you heard her clear her throat, 'Ahem!' You quickly looked up and put your phone away.
"O-oh, uhm, I think it can be interesting to meet new people, and I mean, it's probably also a lot easier for the both of us; now we don't have to waste as much time at home."
She looked at you through the rear view mirror again, her face looking a bit troubled while staring at you. She then focused back on the road while driving.
Miss Thavel: "Waste time? Dear, do you think you are wasting my time in the morning?"
You looked at her and quickly shook your head. "Well, no, I didn't mean it like that, but I sometimes, idk, I get the feeling I am sometimes keeping you from going to your work on time."
Your mom just shook her head and let out a soft sigh before looking back at you. She gave you a soft, warm smile as she reached back with one arm and patted your head. You smiled in return and looked out of the window, seeing the houses pass by until a big school appeared into view.
Miss Thavel: "My little deer, you could and would never waste my time; I am always happy when you are around. You are my daughter, and I wouldn't have had you if I thought you would be a waste of time or that I didn't like having you around."
You looked back at her in suprice, a bit lost at words, before smiling; you could feel tears almost stinging at your eyes. "I-I... Thank's mom, you truly are the best, and I couldn't wish for a better mom." You unbuckled your seatbelt when she parked the car and hugged her across the car; even if it was an awkward position, you didn't care; your long arms made up for the cramped space to reach.
Miss Thavel: "Okay, now get out of the car; just because I'm a teacher here and your mother doesn't excuse you from being late, Ahora date prisa, mi pequeño ciervo."
You let out a sigh and got out of the car. "Sí, sí mamá, lo sé, pero todavía no sé dónde está nada." You responded while mom got out of the car as well; you ignored how some of the students gave you odd and shook looks.
She turned to look at you as realization hit her; she either had to leave you at Grace's office or lead you around herself. Grace already knew of your arrival. She even gave her your schedule so she could lead you between classes to your next once's, but she would first bring you to Grace's office.
Miss Thavel: "Good point, my little deer, just follow me."
You felt some of the students still stare as your face flusters with emberasment and hid your face in your hands before looking back up while following her, "Mom, please don't call me little deer while we are in school." She looked questioningly at you over her shoulder.
Miss Thavel: "Why? Will you then stop calling me mom at work?" You were about to respond but didn't know how; it would honestly feel weird calling your mom by her real name, almost unatural. You then let out a sigh and shook your head no. You then felt a gentle tug at a strand of your hair; you yelp and looked up.
Your mom had gently pulled your hair and ran her hand through it afterward. "Well then, don't ask me to stop calling you little deer." You let out a soft pout but nodded anyway as you entered the school with her, still feeling students stare at you.
You found yourself walking through the hall behind your mother as she led you to the principal's office. There were a lot of lockers in the hall—nothing you haven't seen before, though, except for the sharp claw marks in some of them.
Miss Thavel: "We are here, little deer." she entered the teachers lounge with you as you saw two other teacher's, one with a box cutter for a hand and one with a book for an eye. You just waved and smiled at time before being led into Miss Grace's office.
Miss Grace:"hm? Ah.. Miss Thavel, I see you brought your daughter, great." As you took a seat in the chair opposite to Miss Grace desk, your mom did most of the talking. Miss Thavel: "Good morning, Miss Grace, I still have the schedule you gave me for them; I am more in a bit of trouble though, as you can see who's going to lead around [Y/N] around the school. I have classes to give, so do other teachers."
Miss Grace looks confused at Miss Thavel and then at you. Miss Grace: "Why don't you just allow one of the students to lead? them around? but I can excuse you from work if you want to walk them between classes if you prefer that, Miss Thavel."
Before Miss Thavel or Grace could continue their conversation, the school bell rang, signaling you were indeed late. Miss Grace: "Well, you have your schedule already. Miss Thavel will be leading you to your first class for now; she will most likely either pick you up after class and lead you to the next, or else you can ask one of the other students to guide you. Now, off to class [Y/N]."
You stood up out of the chair and nodded. "Okay, thank you; it was nice to meet you, Miss Grace." You walked out of the office while waving goodbye. Your mom held open the door so you wouldn't just walk blindly into it while looking back at Miss Grace. As you left through the teachers lounge once again, you found yourself back in the hall.
Miss Thavel: "Okay, dear, your first class is math; your teacher will be Miss Circle; do not worry; she is a good friend of mine; I'm sure you will like her."
You just nodded in response while following after her. You could see students walking left and right going to their own class for the first period. You were looking around so much you didn't even realize you were already at your first class until you got a gentle tap on your head. You quickly looked up.
Miss Thavel: "You really have to stop zoning out my little deer; I wouldn't be surprised at this point if you walked somebody off their feet by zoning out like that."
You looked away while scratching your neck. "Sorry, mom, I'll work on it." She just patted your head in response; you put a little and pulled away while fixing your hair. "Please, don't do that in front of everybody." She just smiled in return before opening the classroom door and walking inside with you close behind.
Miss Circle was currently behind her desk teaching what looked like basic math; yes, it was complicated, but not that much for you. Miss Circle looked at Miss Thavel then at you behind her and quickly conected the dots. She then slammed her compass arm onto her desk.
Miss Circle: "SILENCE ALL OF YOU."
The class visibly flinched and quieted down, except for a trio in the back; they just continued gagging off, except for a girl actually listening and looking at Miss Circle, but you could feel her stare was more on you. You shrugged it off though and stood at the front of the class next to your mom and Miss Circle.
Miss Circle: "Okay everyone, this is our new student this year, [Y/N]. You can sit in the back at the free spot there." As you followed her pointed finger, you saw her pointing at an empty chair at the trio's table, who were goofing off but now looked on in suprice. "Okay, Miss Circle." You then look at Miss Thavel. "See you next period, mom."
You could hear some murmers and gasps when you addressed Miss Thavel as mom. All she responded with was patting your head once again and leaving class. You then made your way over to the trio's table. The kid with an A+ in his hair was staring at you with a smirk on his face, the one next to him with glasses was more scanning you up and down with a curious and doubtful expression, and the third with a 2+2 = 8 in her hair was just staring at you with an unreadable expression.
as you sat down the kid with an A+ Reached out his hand to you, you just shook it in response. ???: "Hey new kid, the name is Oliver; nice to meet you.", you nodded in response and cleared your throat a bit. "The name is [Y/N] but I think the teacher already said that, hehe." Oliver let go of the handshake and just shrugged.
Oliver:"Eh I guess, wasn't really paying attention so thanks for telling me your name still." you then looked around the table, the kid with glasses was still curiously looking at you before just stating his name. ???: "Sup new kid, name is Edward." he gave you a smirk and then pointed at the girl next to him. "and that is zipper."
He got a hit on the back of the head in response. ???: "The name is Zip, not Zipper, woman coded looking ass." you find yourself smirking and laughing at the bickering between them, Oliver was laughing his ass off already. Oliver looked at you while laughing, his smile even got wider as he thought to himself. Oliver: 'If I get [Y/N] to join my friend's group im completely untouchable, not only because of Alice and being a teacher's favorite, but because I would have a teacher's kid on my side.'
Normaly he would have never cared who you where, and just saw you as another target, until you just revealed Miss Thavel was your mom, suddenly you became alot more interesting and resourceful to him. while the other's began doing their own things again mostly making paperballs and paper planes, you began to take down note's of the lesson.
Edward: "are you really taking notes? that's so boring, trust me just have some fun, don't be a nerd on your first day." Zip snickered a little. Oliver: "Exactly, trust us, you will manage, I mean look at us, we are goofing off yet we always get good grades." You looked confusing at Oliver. "Uhm just because you have an A+ In your hair doens't really proof anything to me."
Oliver wasn't even sure how to react to that, and scofts softly before going back to trowing paper balls at a group infront of us, the girl looked back looking pissed off, she had a bow in her hair, you could see two other students give your table a angry glare, one had two feathers in his hair, the other was made out of bubbles.
Zip was sneaking glances at you, curious on who you truly were, maybe you joining them could bring some new life to their friend group and not be so dull anymore, ofcourse Oliver kept the group interesting but even after a while doing the same pranks became boring, she just hoped you would actualy warm up to them and join in on their pranks.
While you were writting down notes still of the leson, the bell rang, you quickly stood up and packed your stuff, Miss Circle: "Alright, everybody head to your next class, exept for you Abbie, I need to talk to you after class about your grades." You could see the kid that was abbie shake in his chair, tear's almost spilling out of his eyes.
you questioned what made the kid so scared to instantly cry, it's just a conversation about his grades so he can improve, you didn't mind it to much and began to make your way out of class, as you exited Miss Thavel was standing outside of the class, the other students a bit confused on why their next period teacher was here instead of in her class.
Miss Thavel: "Ah there you are, so what did you think of Miss Circle's class?" she asked you with a smile on her face. "It was interesting, I took all notes and did my work, it's hard but I managed." Miss thavel: "Well that's good to hear, now come on you have my class next so it's easier to just pick you up."
With that you followed after her as well as the rest of the class as it was easier to follow the teacher then just move ahead of her and still having to wait, Oliver, Edward and Zip quickly joined your side, they mostly began to talk to each-other but kept glancing at you and smirking while they continued to talk to each-other.
Miss Thavel: "So you made friends already I see? that's good." she patted your head while smiling, some student's flinched a bit when they saw her smile, because most of the time it either meant she was angry or rarely happy, Oliver: "Oh yes, we are going to be best of friends right? [Y/N]?"
I looked at him a bit confused before nodding. "O-oh yes, sure we are going to be great friends, I can feel it." you nodded in agreement while talking, you didn't mind being friend's with them but currently it felt a bit forced, but you just had to wait and see what the world had in store for you.

Chapter Text
---- Y/N Pov ----
While walking down the hallway still following Miss Thavel, you could feel eyes staring at the back of your head. you turned slightly to see some students stare at you like you were an anomaly; you weren't sure why this was happening. you didn't like the feeling of being judged, though.
Zip, as if sensing your discomfort, looked at you curiously before following your gaze to the back, seeing the other students stare at you skeptically and judge you silently. Zip then elbowed Oliver in his side and nodded her head towards you and then the students behind them.
Oliver: "Hey, if you all have to say something, then say it!" he suddenly challenged the other kids, causing all attention to jump to Oliver as Miss Thavel stopped and turned her head to look at what was going on.
You just stared in shock at this; you even felt a little put on the spot for having your new friend already stand up for you and defend you if anything was wrong; a small smile crept up your face at the thought of having friends to support you.
Miss Thavel: "What seems to be the problem?" Her voice sounded a bit deeper suddenly and almost annoyed even. Oliver: "Well, Miss, it seems some others here are staring at your daughter and giving her quite dirty looks." he almost let the words come out like a song as he had a devious smile on his face.
The students froze as they looked at Oliver and then up at Miss Thavel, who was now staring at them with a barely hidden glare in her eyes. you could feel a hand gently resting on your shoulder and pulling you back a little. You looked up as your mom was now standing next to you almost protectively; the students shrunk back a bit in fear.
Miss Thavel: "Well, then... Oliver, point out the students, please, that were giving my daughter these looks behind her back...." The soft undertone of rage hidden behind her words, "As we don't allow such behavior in this school towards other students, if you have a problem with someone, then report it so it can be resolved; don't go harassing someone behind their back...."
Oliver happily obliged and began pointing out a few students, Zip quickly joining in as well, while Edward was just standing to the side also looking quite pissed off. Yeah, he was a bully and liked to torment others, but even he had boundaries, and now it felt like to him that people were judging you for just being Miss Thavel's daughter or hanging out with them, which he didn't like in the slightest.
Miss Thavel: "Okay, I would like all of you who have just been pointed out to meet me after class in Miss Grace's office, as I will not tolerate such behavior!" With that, She turned around, pulling you along and letting you walk directly next to her as Zip, Oliver, and Edward quickly joined your side once more, Zip looking back to quickly give them all a disgusted look. The students would just follow slowly at a bit more distance as the echoes of Miss Thavel's heels would hit the ground hard.
You looked at your mom as you could see a slight, glaring scowl on her face as the blocks on her head twitched ever so slightly. you never seen her like that before, not that you could remember at least. you then looked at your new friends, who so far hadn't judged you or given you odd looks and had even stood up for you.
While walking, you suddenly caught the sound of something; it sounded like wood being shattered in the far distance. you turned your head all of a sudden, standing still for a second, staring over the other kid's back down the hall, your head cocking a little to the side. Your mom clearly had picked it up as well, as she also looked back, but not to look down the hall but at you. she quickly gently put her hand behind your back and continued to lead you, while the other students looked confused.
You shook your head, thinking it was just your imagination or something falling somewhere in the school. you then continued walking and finally reached the classroom, which felt oddly far, or you all were just walking oddly slow. you didn't mind, though, as your mom opened the classroom door and allowed you all to enter.
As you entered, you looked around as you felt yourself being quickly pulled along. you looked at who, but it wasn't Zip, Oliver, or Edward. No, it was two girls; one looked like a rabbit and the other a bit like Miss Circle with a crown on as well.
They quickly plopped you down on a chair before you could even respond and sat down in their own seat next to you.
---- Pov Change Y/N > Zip. ----
She felt herself balling her hands into fists as she saw Petunia and Lizzy drag you away. She found it weird though; she wasn't used to feeling so protective. Yes, she felt it with Edward and Oliver because they were her friends, and with Chip, as Chip was her little brother, and she would break someone's jaw if they ever dared to harm him.
But this was new to her; she didn't even know you that well, but you looked interesting and didn't seem put off by their antics and bullying of other students. Yeah, you didn't really join in and seemed a bit more like a nerd to her as you preferred to study, but that was probably because of your mom, Miss Thavel; she probably made you study as hard as you could to get good grades, which she expected from someone like Miss Thavel, a strict teacher.
In the end, though, she found you good company, even if you seemed a bit shy. in a sense, you were almost exactly like a deer, trying to keep to yourself, staying away from others, and even staring sometimes like a deer caught in headlights. Which made her feel funny inside, which she wasn't all against.
She continued to watch as you were just placed in a spot by the two other girls, who quickly began talking to you while pulling out their phones. Zip could hear them trying to coax you into getting your own phone out so they could exchange information, while you, on the other hand, looked quite uncomfortable from being so surrounded and guided around and being told what to do by them.
Suddenly everyone's attention was brought to the front of the class as Miss Thavel slapped a ruler against the chalkboard. Miss Thavel : "Okay, today we are going to learn Russian, so focus on the front of the class and on your work!"
Everyone, including you, sat down and focused. Zip was a bit surprised that you didn't seem to get special privileges from your mom, but at the same time she understood; it would probably cause the other students to begin to despise you for having unfair favortism but then again, She herself and her friends did have that favoritism, but that was due to more factors than only being good students in class.
Zip just leaned back into her chair as she sat down and began to do her own thing, mostly talking and snickering with Oliver and Edward about random things. from time to time, she found herself still stealing glances at you, seeing you study hard, focusing on what was written on the board, and actually putting the effort in. She found you only being more nerdy because of that but couldn't help but admire your focused face. as Zip continued to stare, she focused a bit on your hair and noticed something interesting.
As she found herself staring at your hair, squinting her eyes a little to get a clear view, hidden in your locks of hair were two small white stubs, antlers; without realizing it, her tail started wagging a little behind her while staring at the odd sight of seeing tiny antlers peeking out in between your strands of hair.
She found you looked quite adorable, truly like a little deer; the moment she realized how she was thinking about you, she shook her head and began to focus on her work to distract herself. you two were just friends; why would she think like that?
---- Pov Change Zip > Y/N----
As you were writing the words on the paper, you found yourself a bit distracted once more by something in the distance: the faint sound of footsteps, two pairs of light and heavy, the heavy ones close behind the lighter ones.
Miss Thavel: "Y/N, Little deer, can you tell me what this means?" Your mother suddenly asked, causing you to get out of your distraction and look up, reading the word and completely butchering it in the process while saying it in russian causing your mother to halt in her movement as she slowly turns her head to you.
The other students stared a bit in shock at the sudden, roughly translated russian coming out of your mouth. Miss Thavel: "Y/N?! Ты пытаешься довести меня до сердечного приступа?! (Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!) What was that?" you looked at your desk in shame as you felt eyes staring at you; you were lucky the other students, besides probably a few, didn't understand what she said, but you did.
Y/N: "N-no... sorry, mother..." You could feel her staring at you for a bit before she let out a sigh, Miss Thavel: "It's okay; mistakes can happen; just try and not do it again." you nodded in response; you could feel her staring at you for a bit longer as her eyes then slowly drifted off towards the windows of the classroom, having heard the footsteps herself.
----Pov Change Y/N > Miss Thavel----
She was quite stressed out currently, staring at you as she was fearing some of your instincts would kick in; she knew them all too well herself; the fact you already would react to certain loud sounds was a sign to her things might go bad. Luckily you were in her line of sight and could stop and/or distract her when things came to it.
She just hopped Miss Circle would lead whoever she was chasing away from her classroom instead of towards it, but from what she could hear that wasn't the case, She sat down at her desk and looked at some paper's while the student's continued writting their assignment's, her eyes scanning some students until landing on Lana who was right next to the window, then she saw it, the two black blur's rushing past, a kid and then the enormous form of Miss Circle.
Lana: "Hm? Abbie?" she asked as she stood up and looked out the window before leaving the class just like that. Miss Thavel: "Lana were are you goi- and she's gone..." Then you stood up, Y/N: "U-uhm don't worry mom ill get her back!", Miss Thavel: "Wait Y/.... and their gone as well!" She quickly stood up and began to leave the class, she quickly turned around and scanned them all.
Miss Thavel: "Continue your work! I expect to see good results once I am back!" she then slammed the door shut and speed walked down the hall, her improved hearing and senses following the footstep's and smell of sweat of the fleeing kid from earlier who she assumed not to be Abbie, she knew the kid would never make it here, but she had to admit, Miss Circle was kind of a bitch towards the poor kid, making it harder for him on purpose just to get him to fail, it was like she got a kick out of torturing the poor kid.
While stalking the hall's in search of her Daughter and Lana, she could smell the blood, hear the cracking of bone's and sounds of impalement, then the shocked gasp in the distance, She quickened her speed to a straight up run, She just hoped whatever happened Circle didn't touch you or let you see what she was doing, she wasn't sure if Y/N urges could control herself, oh this was such a terrible idea, why did she enlist you here, so many horrible thoughts were now going through her head.
She was afraid you would one day give into your urges in the school you were in and harm a student, the fear of losing you to child support or straight up you being put away like a animal frightened her, that's why she enlisted you here, so she could keep an eye on you, keep you safe from everyone else to keep you close for if it happened, and she now feared she failed at even that as you were out of reach, out of eyesight, probably with Miss Circle right now.
As she scent of blood got stronger, the sound of crunching and eating was heard, She rushed around a corner and saw a slightly open classroom door that was empty, she rushed inside and froze, there you were, Sitting on your knees, Miss Circle staring in amusement at the sideline chewing a piece of Abbie, you were sitting over Lana, eating her arm, your antler's at full display, your arm's covered in blood and your clothes slightly torn and shredded at area's from your transformation she assumed.
Miss Circle: "hehe quite the animal aren't you?" she joked a little while shoving the rest of Abbie's arm into her mouth, she then turned to face the door and saw Thave;, A soft growl escaped her lips while staring at Circle, Miss Thavel:"What. did. you. do?!" Miss Circle just responded by rolling her eyes. Miss Circle: "Oh relax, no harm was done to her, she is fine see, all happy and eating." She lazly pointed at you, as you shoved another piece of meat into your mouth while covered in blood.
Miss Thavel: "We FUCKING! talked about this, I wanted her here to keep her away from this! f-from all this Cannbalism!" Miss Circle just gave her a confused look, Miss Circle: "Why? it's not harming her in any way, shape or form" Thavel was currently really holding herself back from jumping Circle and clawing her eyes out.
She then let's out a frustrated Sigh and walked toward's You and grabbing you by the antler's and lifting you in the air, a yelp escaped your mouth as you squirmed a bit before being turned to face her, all she did was give you a really stern look as your eyes were almost completely covered by your pupils, they quickly shrunk back to normal size as a piece of flesh dropped out of your blood covered mouth.
You stared at her for a bit, your eyes adjusting and looking around before widdening in shock, the pure terror and fear on your eyes almost broke Thavel's heart, she never wanted this for you to happen, she was such a failure now, failing her own daughter and allowing her to turn out just like her, Miss Circle sensing the situation getting bad and quickly stepped in.
Miss Circle: "H-hey it's not that bad, we can bring her to the pool and let her get a shower there in the girl's changing room's and some fresh clothes, maybe give her a break early as well, ill explain to Bloomie what happened, and you can stay with her if needed."
Thavel didn't say anything and just stared for a bit longer before putting you down, as you looked around the room in shock before rushing forward and clinging onto her hiding your face against her, Thavel face just went from sad to depressing looking down at you with such sadness and a sense of failure, Miss Circle just looked around a bit before grabbing both their shoulder's feeling she had to take care of the sitation now, she must admit she felt stupid now, for not doing what her friend asked of her, keep her daughter out of their business, She knew Bloomie and Grace weren't going to be happy about this.
----Pov change Miss Thavel > Flashback Y/N----
You were rushing down the hall following Lana, dang that girl was fast as you felt yourself out of shape already, which suprised you, while still rushing down the hallway you could hear a cut off scream and then, crunching and the strong scent of copper like smell, you felt your mouth watering for some reason, it confused you but you shook it off by simply swallowing your own saliva, the soft gasp was soon heard after.
As you entered the classroom you could see a sight that frightened you but also made something deeper inside you growl, Miss Circle was there, staring at Lana who was infront of you with a piece of flesh in her mouth, you stared past both of them and saw Abbie, or what was left of the kid on the floor against the wall, a huge hole in his head, Lana slowly backed up, directly into you, she turned and screamed and fell onto the floor crawling away.
you were confused on why and turned your head slightly and felt your head hit something, which it shouldn't as you weren't close to the door, you reached at your head and felt two antlers, you turned back to Lana as for some reason it felt odd to look at her as someone scared, you weren't scared anymore yourself, you just saw something on the ground, something funerable.... something easy to catch, unable to flee.... you saw prey... you saw flesh.
Miss Circle stared at you and gave you a smug smirk at the sight of you, as she motioned her hand toward's Lana, like a silent order to continue, and then you blacked out.
Notes:
Only two chapter's in and already making Y/N a cannibal? what's wrong with me people, anways hope you enjoyed it, and yes the story will be a lot darker and with more drama then shown originally, as Miss Thavel and Y/N will have to struggle through the fact Y/N is a wendigo and will have to learn to control her urges and also for Miss Thavel to find out of she is truly a good mother and if she is doing the right thing.
