Work Text:
When he finally figured it out, it was pretty hard to miss.
It lived in everything Buck did. It was in the morning and evening texts, in the video calls that happened almost every night– the ones where Eddie inevitably fell asleep and Buck always stayed up, just to look at him. It was in shared grocery store trips, shared calendars, shared nightmares from shared traumas.
It was inescapable, and that was a problem. More than a problem. It was probably going to ruin him.
Because Buck’s love for Eddie wasn’t just a flame. It was an all-encompassing, all-consuming, wildfire. A damn inferno.
And, inevitably, Buck knew he would get burned when it finally went out of control.
