Work Text:
They were known as Han and Minho. Combined and entangled together, like every human at that time, they were one.
That was until the day Zeus split them apart. When their combined soul was torn in half, life as they knew it changed. They would live the rest of that lifetime in despair. Tangling and combining themselves whenever they could, for their bodies and souls always longed to be one entity again.

Their first encounter in a new life was as strangers. A single moment on a crowded street brought them within arm’s reach of each other. Han walked past Minho, his scarf trailing in the winter wind. Minho paused, turning to watch Han as he disappeared into the crowd. He didn’t know why, but his chest tightened as the sweet scent of Han lingered in the air around him.
Han had glanced over his shoulder but quickly looked away, unsure why he felt the urge to stop.
They never spoke, never touched, but for a second they had found each other. As they continued on their way, the universe sighed aching for what had almost been but with the knowing they would meet again.
Their second meeting was by chance, Han had bumped into Minho, nearly spilling his coffee.
“I’m so sorry” Han said with an apologetic smile and a bow.
Minho blinked, distracted by the pink chained charm bracelet on Han’s wrist, adorned with a tiny silver star. He glanced at his own wrist, where an identical charm dangled from the green chain he wore.
“It’s fine” Minho said, though his heart thudded strangely because there it was again. That sweet scent in the air, something so strangely familiar it felt like Minho’s home.
Han smiled again before heading out the door of the coffee shop. His own heart thumping in his chest, caused by a fleeting moment of eye contact with the man he had just bumped into.
Fate kept pulling them together. They crossed paths at the park, at the bookstore, even in a train station miles away. They never grew close in this life, but the universe refused to let them forget about one another.

The next lifetime wove them into a different story. Han became a rising rockstar with a voice that electrified stadiums. Minho had followed Han’s career from the beginning, traveling to every concert within reach.
They finally met at a meet-and-greet that Minho won by chance.
“Hey,” Han said, his eyes lingering on the charm on Minho’s wrist. “I like your bracelet”.
Minho flushed. “Thanks. It’s inspired by you”. He wore a green and pink bracelet with a star charm, an homage to the symbol and colours Han used as his logo.
Han smiled, but it faltered for a moment as he felt an inexplicable ache within him.
“I want to thank you for your songs. Your music it feels very familiar, like it was written for me”. Minho giggled and blushed as he openly fanboyed in front of his idol.
Han blinked in surprised “Maybe it was”.
Then their time was up. The security ushered Minho away as he quickly said his goodbye.
From that day on Han recognised Minho at every concert, admiring how he sang every lyric. Minho gifted Han a matching bracelet at their second meet-and-greet, and it didn’t go unnoticed to him that Han would twirl the star charm whenever he was talking to the large crowd of people before him at every show.
For a fleeting moment, they connected. But life kept them apart, their connection limited to short moments between stages.

In their next life, the universe couldn’t stand them being apart anymore. Born into the same family, their bond was unshakable. Minho was the elder, fiercely protective of his younger brother Han, who adored him in return. From their earliest days, they were inseparable. Minho always held Han’s hand when they crossed the street and Han always saved the best half of his chocolate bar for Minho.
One summers evening, they laid on the grass behind their house admiring the pink sunset sky, as they shared secrets to one another. Minho spoke about his dreams of traveling the world, while Han shyly revealed his aspirations of becoming a writer.
“Do you ever feel like we’ve known each other longer than this?” Han asked, his voice quiet and tentative.
Minho laughed softly, rolling onto his side to look at his younger brother. “You mean longer than your thirteen years of annoying me?”
Han nudged him with a playful grin. “No, I mean… longer than this life.”
Minho didn’t have an answer so he just shrugged, but he felt what Han was feeling too. Deep in his chest there was a warmth, a certainty that their connection was far older than their shared childhood.
Fast forward to six years later, Minho is graduating university. Han gifted him a matching set of star bracelets. One pink for him and one green for Minho.
“This is for when you might be homesick when travelling. If we both have one then you know you’re never alone, because I’m always right here” he said pointing to the star charm.
“You are disgusting” Minho joked as he put on the bracelet.
Though they couldn’t explain it, their brotherly love for each other felt eternal. Minho would always be Han’s protector, and Han would always be Minho’s anchor.

In another life, Han and Minho became childhood friends. From their first meeting at age seven to their twilight years, they never parted.
They moved into an apartment together after university, decorating the space with guitars, books and a framed photo of the two of them wearing matching star bracelets they brought in Japan.
Minho dated half-heartedly, every relationship fizzling out after the third or fourth date. Han didn’t even try, he spent his time focused on his growing career as a composer.
“Maybe I’m just meant to be single,” Minho joked one night as he sat on Han’s bed watching him work.
“It’s probably because you’re weird” Han laughed never looking up from his guitar. “I like your weird but not everyone can put up with it. You see if I actually bothered to date I think I would have much success, because I’m pretty normal compared to you. Right?” Han said finally looking up at Minho, who now had fond stars in his eyes.
With zero thought running through his mind Minho looked up towards the bedroom ceiling softly whispering “I like normal”. It only took a second for him to blush bright red at the realisation of what he had said.
Han didn’t seem phased though as he laughed into his guitar “Or maybe we’re just meant to be” Han teased but his eyes were serious.
Neither acknowledged the weight of the statement, but neither needed to. They grew old together, their lives filled with laughter, bickering and a love they didn’t dare name. When Minho passed in his sleep, Han found himself clutching the old bracelet reminding him of the day in Japan when he knew he loved Minho.

In their next life, they met as two K-pop trainees under the same company. Han was immediately in awe of Minho, finding him the most handsome man alive and jokingly demoting himself to the second most handsome man alive. They became close with an ease that felt almost predestined, gravitating toward one another even in the grueling world of trainee life. Often, they were found snuggling in one another’s arms after practice or exchanging warm compliments as naturally as breathing.
As fate would have it, they debuted together in a new group called Stray Kids. Their voices blended effortlessly, their choreography in perfect sync. But it was the quiet moments backstage that truly solidified their bond.
Han adored the way Minho laughed when no one else was looking, soft, unguarded, and completely him. Minho, in turn, couldn’t stop marveling at Han’s eyes, which seemed to glisten brighter than any stage light. In stolen moments, their hands would brush, bringing them both an inexplicable sense of calm and belonging. They never put their feelings into words, knowing the world they lived in wouldn’t allow it. Instead, Han channeled his emotions into his music, penning lyrics that hinted at love too profound for the stage or the spotlight.
Before long, they were growing older together. Stray Kids became a global phenomenon, winning countless awards, becoming ambassadors for world-renowned brands and building a legacy that millions admired. But with Minho’s mandatory military enlistment approaching, their current world tour was set to be their last as a full group, at least for a while.
The weight of the moment hung heavy for everyone and Han grew quieter than Minho liked. On the night before their final concert, Minho handed Han a small gift box, his eyes sparkling in anticipation.
Han opened it to find a leather bracelet, soft pink with a shining star charm at its center. He quickly noticed it matched the green bracelet Minho was already wearing.
Han’s breath caught. Of course, he thought to himself. Pink and green, their colours. The little symbol of love that had threaded through their years together.
Minho leaned close, his voice low and steady as he whispered in Han’s ear, “So we don’t forget this. So we don’t forget about us”.
Han swallowed the lump in his throat, blinking quickly as emotion swelled in his chest. He slipped the bracelet on, the star glinting faintly under the lights. “I could never forget you” he replied, his voice full of meaning.
Life never tore them apart. Years later, after all the chaos of fame had settled, they were married in a private ceremony surrounded by their found family, the other six members of Stray Kids. Together, they built a life full of joy and laughter, their home brimming with framed photos, souvenirs from their travels, and treasured memories of the life they had built.
Decades passed, their bond only growing stronger. As they lay side by side in their final moments, old but still deeply in love, Minho turned to Han, his voice barely more than a whisper. “Do you think this is the end?”
Han smiled faintly, his fingers brushing the star charm on Minho’s bracelet. “No. I think it’s just the beginning.”
When their souls left their bodies, they didn’t return to the wheel of reincarnation. Instead, they ascended, merging together to become one brilliant star in the night sky. The pink and green hues of their light shone brightly, a beacon for all who still searched for the missing half of their soul.
At last, Han and Minho were together for eternity, their love illuminating the heavens for generations to come.
