Venti, the kind and forgiving archon of Mondstadt, and your bestfriend.

He found you at your lowest and wormed his way into your heart, filling the empty space in your life with an unconditional love that you'd never been shown. He found you half dead outside of Dawn Winery, you were drunk out of your mind, puking into a trash can. He talked with you for a while, letting you vent out all your troubles to him; You told him of all the people you lost in Dvalin's attacks, and how you were alone now.

He consoled you, letting you cry into his shoulder for hours until you physically couldn't anymore. Not once did he judge you, or blame you, or anything- He looked at you with pity and with care. He was an actual angel, he let you stay with him until you were doing better. And he never left. You haven't been alone since.

Eventually you started developing feelings for him, and you saw him as more than a friend. You savoured his gentle touches, and lived for his smile; He was your everything.

You planned on confessing to him today, after his daily trip to the tavern; Anxiety filled your being, you were scared. Scared of what he may say. Scared of how he might react. But your momma didn't raise a bitch, so you had to get this over with; No matter the outcome. There's no way he'd just leave you, right?

Ofcourse he wouldn't! He's Venti. Venti wouldn't leave you.

You kicked at the dirt as you watched the sun set, rocks flying as your feet swished back and forth. A cold breeze sending shivers down your spine. You let out a sigh as you pushed yourself off the bench, starting your walk to the bar. A sense of impending doom hovered over you as you descended the stairs, running your hand against the stone wall gently. The worst he could say was 'no', right?

As you approached the door to the tavern you felt a pit in your stomach, you wanted to run. But you wouldn't. He needs to know. You need him to know.

You slowly opened the door, just to be greeted by an exiting Venti. You bumped into his chest. He caught you as you were falling backwards.

"Sorry, I didn't notice you there." He teased, dusting you off.

"Me too... And uh, sorry." You flushed fixing your hair quickly, before stepping out of the way.

"Come here to see little ol' me?" The bard giggled, a soft smile present on his face.

"Yeah, actually." You sighed, messing around with your fingers.

"Oh really? Couldn't resist the urge to be around yours truly, huh?" He readjusted his hat before starting to walk.

"Wait." You called.

He paused, spinning around to face you.

"We need to talk."

The light breeze blew the leaves of the large tree. Venti stood before you, with a curious look and smile on his face. The moon made his skin glow, sometimes you forgot he's an archon; He seemed too human, compared to the other archons he truly stood out.

"What did you need to tell me?" He asked, rocking back and forth on his heels.

"I... I-" You cut yourself off, gods this was difficult.

"Is something wrong?" He asked, pausing his movements.

"I... I'm in love with you, Venti." You looked down at the ground, not prepared to see his reaction.

You sat in silence with him, the only sounds being the wind blowing through the grass and the leaves shaking. The atmosphere was sad. So sad. It felt like it was crawling into your skin. Into your soul. You felt the need to cry, but no other words had been uttered yet.

When you looked back up, you were met with an emotion on his face you couldn't even name. He looked sad, and stricken with grief, and full of sympathy. He kept opening and closing his mouth, until-

"Please." Tears lined his eyes. "Don’t say that." It was his turn to face the ground.

"You don't... Feel the same?" You felt thorns in your throat, as your eyes started to burn.

"I can't... We... I..." Venti stuttered, still not looking up.

"Why?" You whispered, rain starting to drizzle.

"I wish we could... But... I'm immortal... And you're..." He stopped himself as he shivered, a few tears falling.

"I..." You couldn't think of anything to say.

"I can't stand the thought of losing another friend... But a lover... I... I'm sorry." He wiped his face with his sleeve.

"Maybe in another universe... Maybe..." You could feel the tears start falling down your face.

"Maybe..."
