Work Text:
Nathan glanced back at Axiom excitedly coming into the dressing room behind him and smiled. Fraxiom was fine, and though he was a little banged up and would probably sleep all day tomorrow to recover from the amount of work he did today, he couldn’t help but look forward to doing something as ordinary as sleeping by his tag team partners side.
They carry on an idle conversation while they change into their casual clothes chattering about the match, their win, and where they were going to celebrate when Nathan was all healed up. Axiom finished dressing and Nathan, a little slower than usual, finished up after him and took his place right by his friends side as they walked out to the NXT parking lot.
It was a silent drive back to their hotel, but not an uncomfortable one. Nathan reached over the center console for Axiom’s free hand, and the man let him slide their palms together fingers interlocking in a, not stated, but known gesture of contentment.
Axiom walked the younger man to his room and invited himself in. Although Frazer certainly needed some sleep soon, both of them were too hyped from the nights events to think of resting right at that moment. They crawled into the bed and let the TV drone on in the back as they conversed back and forth, seeming to never run out of things to say.
There was a dull in the cheerful conversation and Nathan stared at where he approximated Axiom’s eyes would be under his mask, his mood dulled by the reminder that his friend would have to go back to his room soon. Axiom seemed to catch wind of his sudden change in demeanor, but didn’t have any noticeable reaction to it, besides shifting onto his side so he could face Nathan head on.
Nathan reluctantly muttered that he was getting tired, and after Axiom responded with the confirmation that he was too, the blonde braced himself for the man beside him to get up and walk out the door. However, he didn’t.
Axiom came closer to Nathan, closer until he was close enough to wrap him up into his arms and tuck his head under his own. Hidden away in Axiom’s arms, he heard shuffling, and felt some movement, but eventually, they were still again. As the pit in Nathan’s stomach got warmer and warmer, his eyes got heavier and heavier until he eventually gave into sleep.
Yes, Fraxiom is fine.
