Chapter Text
Roland Didn’t know what had happened to him exactly, last he knew he was at the library at the outskirts, it had been a few months and he was just starting to get used to life there, now however he seemed to be drenched in darkness and was lying on a bed. He stayed still for a few minutes taking in the quite uninteresting but weirdly familiar ceiling.
Was this some prank by the other librarians? Had Tiphereth finally decided to take revenge for all his teasing? Or had something serious happened? Maybe the head had changed their mind and decided to come after them anyway. He dismissed the idea as soon as it came—there was no way he’d still be alive if that were the case. Still Thinking of an explanation, he decided to finally get up.
As he was starting to rise, he noticed the scenery of this room was overly familiar, his eyes having adjusted to the darkness began to scan the room, taking in the sights and figures, and the realization hit him like a truck: This was his old room, before he entered the library, before his life began to spiral down, and most importantly before the pianist took the love of his life away from him.
As he finally looked reached the end of the room he looked to the other side of the bed and he felt his heart stopping in place. He saw his wife, sleeping with the calmest and most beautiful face he had ever seen (it always seemed to become lovelier every time he looked at it), she looked to be deep in her slumber tightly hugged by their black sheets. Seeing this he took a minute to take in this view, she looked so beautiful, so divine he could worship her. Nothing could compare to what he was seeing. But before he could indulge in his happiness he came back to reality: His wife was dead, her body was desecrated by the ensemble so she could not even rest in death, whatever he was seeing now wasn’t reality but merely an illusion. The dead cannot be brought back to life and time cannot be rewound.
His heart dropped once he realized this; what kind of person would show him this? Was he being shown everything he had lost? Had Angela not really forgiven him and had merely tricked him as he did to her? Was this her way of having the last laugh? Or was there someone else he had wronged in his rampage and they were out for him.
“Whose showing me this? Why are you doing this? Did I wrong you somehow?” Roland cried to the ceiling. His heart was aching at all this, all that he lost and could never get back.
As he said this, he heard a quiet grumble beside him, he looked over and saw Angelica waking up, her eyes were half open as she got up and yawned, letting out the (from his unbiased judgement) cutest sound he'd heard. She took a second before she started speaking.
“Is something wrong Roland? Its too early in the morning for anything.” She said in a rough voice
Roland froze up after he heard her voice, he stared at her sleepy form and took a moment to process. He didn’t know what to do at that point, didn’t know what was real and what wasn’t, but he decided it didn’t matter whether this was a dream or some illusion, he may as well indulge in it while it’s here.
Roland jumped onto Angelica trapping her in a tight hug and started peppering her neck with kisses, causing her to let out a tiny squeal in surprise.
“Roland, are you fine darling? It’s too early to even think about getting up, let alone getting intimate.” Angelica said with a soft laugh as she returned the hug, gently placing her hand behind Roland’s head and pulling him even closer than before.
"I’m sorry, Angelica. I’m so sorry for everything. I’ll never leave you again; I’ll always stay beside you. Please, don’t leave me." Roland seemed to cry out weakly, barely holding back his tears.
Angelica seemed to become more and more confused by the second, her husband was acting in a very uncharacteristic manner. He always told her how much he loved her but with the way he was acting now, he seemed more broken than anything.
Angelica pulled Roland’s head back to look at him, and he looked horrible; His eyes were bloodshot and wet with tears and he seemed to be breathing erratically. Looking at him so depressed caused her heart to break.
Angelica decided to speak up: “Did you have a nightmare of some sort? You look horrible, so please talk to me, sweetie. Tell me what happened.”
Roland finally broke out of his trance and cried out in a weak voice: “Ill tell you everything later, so please just hold me tonight”
Angelica decided not to question him and chose to bring him in for a kiss. Roland didn’t resist at all and closed his eyes. He didn’t fight her tongue and let her take the lead. The kiss lasted for what seemed like an eternity, and he was left breathless afterward. Angelica, on the other hand, seemed perfectly fine, save for the blush on her face and the string of saliva connecting them. Roland felt his mind relax and wrapped his body around Angelica’s. Her body was nothing short of perfect, and it didn’t take long for him to fall asleep.
