Player paced around his room clicking a ballpoint pen as the deafening sound of a dial tone played from his computer. His thoughts had taken over making it hard to stay still. What would she think?
Hearing the ding of the call going through he jumped into his chair almost knocking over the can of half drinken monster lazily sitting on his desk to the floor.
"Wow, player, you good?" Carmen said glaring through the screen.
"Oh yeah sorry I just- never mind, I need to talk to you about something." Player said fidgeting with a bottle cap, rubbing his thumb along the grooves.
"Sure, is something wrong?" Carmen responded sitting up a little straighter on the warehouse couch.
"No, no I just- I don't know," he turned his head to look up at the schedule hanging from the wall now filled x's from the passing of days, and took a deep breath.
"I want to do my senior year of high school irl."
The sentence came out of his mouth and little shakier than he expected and the surprise in his expression showed as much.
"Player that's great!" Carmen announced from behind the screen. "Why were you so scared of telling me?"
Players eyes lit up a little before falling back to his hands fidgeting with the bottle cap again "It's just, the last time I went to school I wasn't any help, heck, if it weren't for Zack and Ivy you could've died up in the alps without me!"
He said wailing his arms with exclamation, ducking a bit from the sound of the bottle cap he was holding hitting the wall.
"Player, Viles gone, you should be able to enjoy life without having to worry about me all the time," Carmen replied melancholy sweeping over her face. "You need to do what you want, it isn't fair for you to have to look after me." They sat there for a moment, silence like thunder.
"Okay," Player sighed, fiddling with a can tab he found on his desk, "but if there is any sign that there's any trouble being stirred up by vile I am dropping out."
He said pointing at the screen.
Player stood at the entrance of the Washington airport luggage in hand as he waited for his cab to arrive. The airport was loud as the multitudes of people poured in and out of the terminals carrying the sound throughout the building, the fridgid air swirled throughout the parking dock
