“Mom, I had the best date ever with Benji! I taught him how to ice skate,” Haylie exclaimed excitedly.
“Oh that's wonderful darling, I'm happy you had fun,” Emma smiled, turning to Scott who had a scowl.
“You were with Benji as in Malloy, didn't I tell you to stay away from him?” he crossed his arms, Looking over.
“I can see him if I want dad and you can't stop me,” she didn't realize her voice was raised.
“You are 16, I'll be damned if my daughter dates a Malloy you need to focus on school,” Scott caught himself, getting frustrated and took a breath.
“Dad I am literally the top of my class and I am focused on school, I'm not going to stop seeing Benji and you can't make me!” she stormed off, nearly in tears.
“I forbid you from seeing him! I will be calling Nikolai to assure she keeps you both separated, once your 18 you can make your own decisions until then you will listen to me,”
“You're the worst dad ever! I hate you!” Haylie runs up the stairs sobbing and slams her door locking it.
“Really Scott? You know as well as I do Nikolai will not be able to keep them apart and neither will you, just let them be together! He's not his father, Benji doesn't even know his father,” Emma snapped, dropping a dish she was cleaning, breaking it.
“Besides the point, his father nearly destroyed the city of New York after his girlfriend died, he literally nearly killed the X-men! And I'm supposed to trust his kid with my daughter?!” He helped her clean the broken plate.
“Matthew is an Omega level mutant able to destroy the very fabric of reality, yes but Benji wasn't raised by Matthew he was raised by the pastor Hanover and his wife! You can't hold that against Benji that happened before he was even born,” she argued, not even hiding her frustration.
“He inherited some of his dad's abilities, that makes him just as dangerous, his abilities to manipulate matter, and electricity both are dangerous, and I don't trust him. I standby what I said,” he narrowed his eyes, staring at Emma.
“Our daughter Is an Omega too, and so am I, you know what, just go to bed, I'm sleeping on the couch,” Emma grabbed a blanket and pillow from the linen closet. Placing them on the couch.
“Fine! Can't even be the man of the house anymore,” Scott ducked as Emma chucked a remote in his direction. He then went to the room, to calm down.
Emma went and knocked onHaylies's door, “Hails? It's me, may I come in?” She hears Haylie say yeah and enters.
Haylie was hugging her big bear Benji won her, eyes red from crying.
“I don't really hate dad, I just don't understand, Benji is a good guy,” she sniffles, taking a tissue to her nose.
Emma sits besides her, “Sweetheart, dad just doesn't want to accept your growing up and he has to realize you are old enough now to make some of your own decisions,”
"I understand mom, he's just being an over bearing dad," Haylie said again wiping her eyes.
Emma lays beside Haylie, and rubs her back to comfort her daughter.
